Flyctory.com Pros

  • Nice lounge design
  • Reasonable food options
  • Good opening times

Having a late evening flight in March 2026 from Toronto (YYZ) to Montreal (YUL) made me look for a lounge option to relax before the flight. I wasn’t fully aware that my credit card offered me a free lounge access – but the ads within the terminal were just too present to miss it. As the Plaza Premium Lounge for domestic flights closes earlier, I opted for the sister lounge at Terminal 3 for international departures.

Plaza Premium Lounge YYZ T3 International – Location & Access

There are in fact three Plaza Premium Lounges at Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Terminal 3. One of them is at the A-Gates, serving US flights only. This one is separate and can solely be used for those destinations. The gates for domestic flights and international flights are linked, though, so that you can easily commute between them. The Plaza Premium Lounge is located quite at the end of the international gate area. Close to gate C32, you take an elevator up to reach the lounge. There is also a KLM Crown Lounge next door (which feels being the former Air France / KLM Lounge). It is not sensible to commute between the terminals 1 and 3.

The lounge opens daily from 5:30 until 1:00 the next morning. Apart from airline cooperations and the traditional (very high priced) buy-in, the Plaza Premium Lounge is also accepting lounge passes. Additionally, American Express Platinum and Centurion members have free lounge access, which I made use of.

Plaza Premium Lounge YYZ T3 International – Atmosphere

The lounge is split into two areas. I spent time in the less exclusive area – I guess the other one is predominantly used for contracted airlines. The design is rather friendly. Despite the lounge is in fact a large room, some dividers and higher seats give some feeling of privacy. On the one end, there is the bar, on the other one a buffet. In between, there are different seating options. The power sockets at the restaurant-alike seating which I used might need some maintenance, though. Another nice feature of the lounge are its large windows, which give you a great view of the airport traffic and some maintenance facilities. During my stay, it was very noisy, though. This was not only caused by quite a bunch of families, but also people doing Facetime calls without headphones and similar.

Plaza Premium Lounge YYZ T3 International – Food & Drink

The buffet is basic, but reasonable. Some dishes were even made fresh on order. Namely, this was fish tacos and a Pasta of the Day. You could also order a turkey sandwich with fries – however, that was subject to a charge of roughly 16 CAD. There is a bit of salad and quite a large range of breads and cookies. This side of the Plaza Premium lounge also includes a dispenser for soft drinks and the coffee machines.

I did not use the bar. Some of the drinks are definitely subject to charge as well, though. The bar area looked very nice.

Plaza Premium Lounge YYZ T3 International – Services

The check-in process worked out very friendly. The staff in the lounge was attentive. WiFi is provided and worked sufficiently for me. I liked the bathrooms, which had an overall nice design. The lounge also offers showers for a charge.

Plaza Premium Lounge YYZ T3 International – My View

The Premium in the brand’s name might not really match the service delivered. However, the Plaza Premium Lounge at Toronto Pearson’s (YYZ) international departure gates is a nice place to hang out. The large room, however, causes that noise is spread through the room significantly.
