Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 24th October 2025)

24th October 2025 – this means it is exactly two months until Christmas! These Songs of the Week will also be the first ones this year which feature Christmas songs. But no worries, there is a bunch of other tunes as well. Hope you enjoy my selection of new songs.

Lewis Capaldi – Almost

I typically try to have a bit more of a focus on the less established artist in this category – but Lewis Capaldi gave me a too hard time this week. The Scottish singer-songwriter and his new song Almost are simply too good. The song will be part of the EP Survive, which should be released soon. In December, Capaldi is touring Australia and New Zealand.

Chris Norman – Lifelines

Another big name in the music business I feature this week is Chris Norman. Lifelines will be the title track of his upcoming album. He also announced tour dates for 2026. A beautiful ballad, which is a nice soundtrack for snuggling during the cold days. Well done by the former Smokie singer.

Mumford & Sons feat. Hozier – Rubber Man Band

On 6th November 2025, the European Mumford & Sons Tour will kick off in Stockholm in Sweden. Right before that, the British folk-pop band releases this collaboration with Irish folk rock musician Hozier. A really nice one, which barely missed the top of this post.

Carolyna – Yours

Carolyna is a Southern German artist, who is having pop and Americana vibes in her music. Yours is already the third time I feature her in my Songs of the Week.

SYLVR – Werelden Verwijderd

Dutch artists pop up in my list of songs here and there – however, I rarely feature songs in their language. However, my dear friend SYLVR (fomerly Sylvia Aimee) released this track this week and I love it. Finally, Germany and the Netherlands are definitely not Werelden Verwijderd (“Worlds Apart”), as you also see from my recent handball coverage from the neighboring country.

Ziggy Alberts – Cyclones

Six studio albums, a sold out show in London’s famous Royal Albert Hall – the Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts has definitely made it in the world of music. His new track Cyclones again underlines the skills of the artist from Down Under. A lovely song with folk and pop elements.

Westlife – Chariot

The Irish quartet is far more than a boy band nowadays. With Chariot, they released a new track, which even has some Irish folk vibes. I really like it.

Sophie and the Giants – Loser

The British singer-songwriter released her new EP 00:00 this week. In fact, only the opening track of the five track release hasn’t been shared before. I felt like putting the “new one”, Loser, into my playlist.

Greenisland & Jacob – This Christmas

Time for the first Christmas song. Unfortunately, I don’t have too much bio information about the Austrian duo Greenisland & Jacob, who released This Christmas this week. A really lovely song by the two artist, who released their first song in 2021 (Summerrain) already.

Johnny Logan – The Sunny Side of Christmas

The Irish music legend and Eurovision Song Contest winner is releasing a new Christmas song this week as well. The Sunny Side of Christmas has been written for the animated movie. I love this pop track.

Larissa – Für immer wir

Larissa is a schlager artist from the Stuttgart / Heilbronn region. There, she is also known as lead singer of the band Campus. Für immer wir (“Forever we”) is her debut single.

Misha Kovar – Meine Träume

Another schlager track I feature this week is Meine Träume by Misha Kovar. The Austrian musician and actress was born in Czechoslovakia. She has played in multiple musical productions, but is also established in the music scene. A really good new song by her.

The Rehats – I Don’t Wanna

The Rehats from Freiburg in Germany are a folk-pop quartet. Singer and guitarist Johannes Jojo Stang and drummer Michael Simon formed the project in 2015. The band’s last major release is their sophomore album Heart & Mind (2023), which I have in fact reviewed.

Hana Lili – Sick Of Myself

Time for some harder rock on this week’s list of new song. Hana Lil is a Welsh artist, who has released two EPs so far. However, there is a few years since Flowers Die In The Summer (2021) and Existential (2023). I really like the sound of her new track.

Monarch – Forsaken

Last but not least, there is Monarch. Forsaken is the very first single by the metal band from Vienna. A friend of mine recommended me the song – and I do agree to adding it to this week’s release list.
