Flyctory.com Country Music Playlists Log Archive (2021 Entries)

With more and more updates of my Flyctory.com Country Music Playlists, I had to split the weekly update archive by calendar year, here are my 2021 log entries.

Here are the current log archive entries, including links to other annual log tranches

My Flyctory.com Playlist Update Logs for 2021:

Country Music Playlist Update Log (27th December 2021)

“Traditionally”, there are not too many releases the week of Christmas. I still got two new tracks as well as three 2021 songs, which I felt should have some playlist presence. The last update in 2021 – thanks for supporting me and this playlist. Happy New Year!

  • Cheating On You by Kylie Morgan

I really enjoyed the EP Love, Kylie, when Kylie Morgen released the set of songs in June 2021. One of the best EP releases of the years to me – and thus, this release deserves another song in this playlist after the amazing I Only Date Cowboys.

  • Cabin In The Woods by Canaan Smith

Another great release in 2021: Canaan Smith’s album High Country Sound is a great collection of modern country songs. The April 2021 album received a rating of 4.8 by me. Here is another track of the album.

  • Room To Dream by Ryan Kinder

Last, but not least, another view back into July 2021: Ryan Kinder did a very atmospheric and entertaining album Room To Dream. I decided to add the title track to this playlist.

  • You Know Who You Are by Hunter Jordan

… but there are also new releases this week. Hunter Jordan’s You Know Who You Are is a very emotional song, which really impressed me.

  • Save You Now by Dylan Wheeler

The last song I added to my list is a great country rocker by Dylan Wheeler. Another new release this week.

And removed:

  • All The Pretty Girls by Kenny Chesney
  • Solider’s Gift by Josh Turner
  • Do It Again by Dennis Adamus
  • Living Free by Kaylee Bell feat. Lindsay Ell
  • Santa Better Knock by Josh Abbott Band

Country Music Playlist Update Log (20th December 2021)

Slowly, 2021 is coming to an end. The second last playlist update in 2021. I am really glad that I was able to finish the year with a German floorball coverage – even though DJK Holzbüttgen had an easy time with the Black Wolves Dessau. I will majorly use the next days to prepare all kinds of Best of postings. Have to give in that I did not really made my mind around it yet. I am curious how you guys will like my new category Songs of the Week, to which I released a first posting on Saturday. On the country music side, that’s the perfect season to me for minor acts to get a bit more additional focus. Some of them made it to the playlist this time. Enjoy listening to good music – and have wonderful holidays.

  • Us by Hannah Ellis

Not a new song this week, but the lovely Hannah Ellis released her video to this song recently. She’s a great artist and definitely deserves to be presented in here.

  • 1999 by Eddie And The Getaway

I am going for two new originals this week. 1999 is just such a cool and powerful track, I just loved to listen to it.

  • I Find a Reason by David Adam Byrnes

My second pick is a rather emotional song. Beautiful modern country and a really nice to listen to voice.

  • Whatever She’s Got by David Nail

Good time to bring some classics into the playlists as well. David Nail has a couple of really good tunes in his portfolio – here is one of them.

  • Go Tell It On The Mountain by Kamryn Palmer

Some more Christmas feeling on the playlist. This version of the festive classic is one of my favorites in the Flyctory.com Country Christmas 2021 playlist on Spotify. Hope you love it, too.

And removed:

  • Highway Will by Taylor McCall
  • Down In Flames by Cody Hibbard
  • One Bedroom Apartment by Tenille Arts
  • Downtowned Up by Renne Blair
  • All For Love by Katy Hurt, Jessica Lynn & Sally Rea Morris

Country Music Playlist Update Log (13th December 2021)

Travel suspended – I guess it will take me take some seven weeks until I finally leave Germany again. I will gather some regional and domestic travel posting material here and there. You won’t be bored, though. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I tried to increase my backlog to a volume that I can easily maintain two travel postings per day without any major travel action for three, four months. On the country music side, there were quite some interesting songs this week – much more than I expected after a rather thin time the last two weeks. Here is my playlist update with new songs and classics.

  • Still Under Oath by Darryl Worley

Darryl Worley is in the country music business for quite a while. With Still Under Oath, he completed his eight track album release 22. Time to have a short listen.

  • Old Fashioned Christmas by Alexis Wilkins

A new track with Alexis Wilkins, which is not just having the Old Fashioned in the song title, but also coming with a rather traditional sound. Somehow, a perfect match for Christmas time, ain’t it?

  • Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers

On the one hand, I felt it is time to introduce a country classic – on the other hand, Islands in the Stream is a perfect link to my recent Songs Of My Life posting about Robin Gibb’s Juliet. In fact, this Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers song was written by the Bee Gees. Robin, I deeply miss you!

  • The Saint by Chancey Williams

A very powerful, present song in the new releases this week. Hope you enjoy listening to The Saint by Chancey Williams as much as I do.

  • Planes Don’t Wait by Shawn Austin

Okay, naming a song like this feels almost like a wildcard into my playlists. Shawn Austin did so. And he succeeded. Good song, as well.

And removed:

  • Wine at the Church, Beer at the Bar by Logan Mize
  • Southern Comfort by Crystal Leigh
  • Just Hang On by Ty Banyton
  • First by Brian John Harwood
  • The Last Town in Texas by Wade Bowen

Country Music Playlist Update Log (6th December 2021)

International traveling completed for 2021. Yeah, I still do have a trip to Southern England planned at late December – but more and more I feel this will not happen. I had a trip to Switzerland this weekend, which already became significantly more complex and expansive due to the short-term changes of the country regarding immigration. There will be a very interesting ice hockey posting very soon. On the country music side, I was surprised that there have been significantly more non-Christmas songs than in the last week. Nonetheless, I felt to add some Santa tunes to the playlist as well, due to multiple reasons.

  • Jingle Bell Rock by Christina Taylor, Brenna Bone, Haley Mae Campell & Kaylee Rose

Yes, I love Christina Taylor and her music. Secondly, I introduced the Country Christmas 2021 playlist (Spotify only) this week. Finally, I really love this Jingle Bell Rock version recorded by four amazing artists. Thanks Christina, Brenna, Haley Mae and Kaylee.

  • Can’t Do Without Me by Chayce Beckham feat. Lindsay Ell

Lindsay Ell is currently a very frequent partner in cool duets. This one is one of them. Great collaboration with Chayce Beckham.

  • Little Christmas Miracles by Jamie Floyd

I felt that some twenty days before Christmas, I should slowly increase the number of Chrsitmas songs. Thus, I did not only for Christina and her ladies, but also for this new release by Jamie Floyd.

  • Out Here by Kyle Shobe & the Walk ‘Em Boys

Kyle Shobe & the Walk ‘Em Boys released their new album this Friday. Did not make the cut to the reviews, but it is actually a nice listen. Here is the title track.

  • Song Still Gets Me by Sarah Darling

I was really surprised that there is a new Sarah Darling track, as I did not have that in focus at all. Nearly needless to say that she did great again – I really appreciated the listen.

And removed:

  • Damn Boy by Christina Taylor
  • High on You by Kaylee Rose
  • I Can Do Better Than You by More Than Words
  • Achy Breaky Heart by Tim Prottey-Jones feat. Jessica Lynn
  • Wrong Song by Alena Neubert

Country Music Playlist Update Log (29th November 2021)

It is more and more Christmas time – and I have really a tough time to be able to fill my playlists with new songs. It somehow feels that this week 90 per cent of the new country music releases are Santa Clause-related. Gives a nice opportunity for some rather less featured artists to pop up in my list of songs.

  • Then Came You by Easton Chambers

New album by Easton Chambers this week, Same Ole Boy. One of the singles, Drink About You, already drew quite some attention. I went for this song.

  • I Can’t Count That High by Wyatt McCubbin

Wyatt McCubbin is one of these artists, which profit from the weird release lists this weekend. Very catching voice, nice song.

  • Hard To Hold On The Bottle by Camden Smith

Nice, groovy single release by Cambden Smith. Again, I simply enjoy to listen to his voice and a straight, rocking modern country music track.

  • Country On The Radio by Robert Ray

Another rather minor country artist, who makes it into the playlist with a new release. If there wasn’t my Lordiversity monster week, the EP Country On The Radio likely had a good chance to make it into my reviews. Sorry, Robert – but at least you made it to my playlist.

  • Automatic by Miranda Lambert

Weekends like this are a perfect opportunity to introduce some classics to the playlist again. Miranda Lambert’s Automatic was one of the songs which strengthened my initial interest into the genre.

And removed:

  • A Girl’s Love by Mitchell Tenpenny
  • Spirits, Angels, Or Lies by Riddy Arman
  • We Are Tonight by Billy Currington
  • Oklahoma Breakdown by Toby Keith
  • If Momma Raised Him Right by Jessica Sole

Country Music Playlist Update Log (22nd November 2021)

I had a short trip to Toronto this week. There were a lot of new country music new releases, but finally, a lot of them were related to Christmas. I just did not want you to give you too much seasonal music already, so that I opted for these songs:

  • The Last Town In Texas by Wade Bowen

Very nice EP by Wade Bowen, who released Where Phone Don’t Work this week. Six songs, good listen – I went for this one.

  • Ring You Up by Jon Wayne Hatfield

That one is a song which came into my focus while I was scanning new releases of this country music week. Nice new single, hope you like it, too.

  • Santa Better Knock by Josh Abbott Band

Christmas Time more and more in the country music scene: one of the x-mas-related releases this weekend was Christmas Was, a five track EP by the Josh Abbott Band. I especially liked the opening track.

  • All For Love by Katy Hurt, Jessica Lynn & Sally Rea Morris

The Three Musketeers are back – and this time, they are female. Country cover versions are typically not that much of my faves, but Katy Hurt, Jessica Lynn and Sally Rea Morris just do too well with this classic.

  • Devil’s Reach by Noah Smith

Noah Smith released eight tracks in his short album Ain’t So Bad Round Here. A cool sound, which finally did not make it to a review, but deserves to be part of my playlists.

And removed:

  • Highway Like Me by Ashland Craft feat. Marcus King
  • Always Be Home by Carolyn Miller
  • New Old Trucks by James Barker Band feat. Dierks Bentley
  • Palm Trees in Ohio by Ryan Hurd
  • I’ll Keep The Country by Dylan Marlowe

Country Music Playlist Update Log (15th November 2021)

Quite buzy times for me. I have been back in England, watching my favorite musical Rock of Ages in Cheltenham. There is a lot of Christmas music released by country artists this week, but also some really interesting releases which do not deal with Santa & friends. Here are my five song additions

  • The Next Big Thing by Katrina Burgoyne

Whenever Katrina Burgoyne is releasing a song, she is almost safe in grabbing a spot in my playlists. The Next Big Thing is no exception to it.

  • Whiskey Thinks I Am by Jade Eagleson

Jade Eagleson released his Honkeytonk Revival this weekend – unfortunately, I did not manage to review the release any more. It’s a nice listen – hope you enjoy this song.

  • Wrong Song by Alena Neubert

Even though I would to have a bit more variety than just cover songs of Nashville (TV-series) tracks, I appreciate productions like A Life That’s Good. She definitely deserves to present my favorite song in that playlist

  • What Christmas Means To Me by Stephanie Ryann

There are so many Christmas releases nowadays, I just had to select one for the playlist. What Christmas Means To Me is a nice release by Stephanie Ryann.

  • Everybody But Us by Jason Lee

Another country release which did not make it to my reviews – Jason Lee released 11 this weekend. After a quick listen, Everything But Us was my favorite track.

And removed:

  • Smoky by Charley Crockett
  • Over You by Stephanie Ryann
  • She’s Gonna Leave a Mark by Darrin Morris Band
  • Before The Summer Starts to Fall by Troy Kemp & Katrina Burgoyne
  • Fire Line by Billy Strings

Country Music Playlist Update Log (8th November 2021)

I spent the whole last week in Dubai with a major focus on the Expo 2020. You already might have seen my review of the Garden In The Sky Observation Deck – other postings coming soon. Due to my vacation, I strictly limited my publications to two postings per day. No reviews of country music (will change for next week, I promise!), but some cool song additions to the playlist.

  • In The Woods by LOCASH

This week, LOCASH released a new EPWoods & Water. As I had to control my work level during my vacation, I could not give you a full review – but here is at least my favorite track.

  • If I Didn’t Know Better by Colt Ford feat. Jana Kramer

Another new EP I could not fully cover this week: Colt Ford has been releasing Keys To The Country – and this amazing collaboration with Jana Kramer is part of it.

  • In Another’s Eyes by Trisha Yearwood & Garth Brooks

All disputes are cleared: there finally feels to be five Garth Brooks shows in Dublin in September 2022. As Garth’s solo songs are not available on Spotify, I went for this duet.

  • Downtowned Up by Renee Blair

I will miss the Dubai sun the next weeks. Let’s keep some warm and summer-ish vibes in the playlist, for example by this nice country-pop track by the lovely Renee Blair.

  • Living Free by Kaylee Bell feat. Lindsay Ell

Two great female country artists – one fantastic song: Kaylee Bell’s great song Living Free is boosted by Lindsay Ell’s talent – the result is a great listen.

And removed:

  • I Only Date Cowboys by Kylie Morgan
  • Beautiful World by Jayne Denham
  • Somebody’s Listening by Jesse Labelle
  • Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker
  • Tennessee Waltz by Miko Marks & The Resurrection

Country Music Playlist Update Log (1st November 2021)

I am in Dubai for ten days – at the time you are reading this, I am likely just about to step into the World Fair Expo 2020 (obviously, one year too belated as so many things). Exciting new song for the playlist today – hope you enjoy my selection.

  • Do It Again by Dennis Adamus

There was no doubt that the German artist Dennis Adamus deserved to grab a spot in the playlist with his debut album Right For You. The only tough choice I had was to pick the right track – I went for Do It Again and hope he does another great album one day.

  • First by Brian John Harwood

Early this year, I caught up with Brian John Harwood in my Spotlight interview category. This week, he released a new, really cool single – hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  • Mid-Century Modern by Billy Bragg

Billy Bragg released The Million Things That Never Happened this year. Not fully a country album, but a lot of references and a great listen. Mid-Century Modern is one of my favorites on the record.

  • Sundowner by DanaMaria

DanaMaria just slipped into my The German Songs posting of my Country Music Picks series. Such an amazing German lady with Texas relations – if you want to know more about her, have a look into the interview I had with her about a year ago.

  • Achy Break Heart by Tim Prottey-Jones & Jessica Lynn

Tim Prottey-Jones is one of the greatest people in British country music. This week, he released a very alternative version of the Billy Ray classic. Not just due to the support of the amazing Jessica Lynn a great listen.

And removed:

  • Boots For Heels by DanaMaria
  • Space by Kenny Foster
  • South On Ya by Luke Combs
  • Met the Men by Tommy Atkins feat. Hollier
  • Tall Boys by Alexandra Kay

Country Music Playlist Update Log (25th October 2021)

Quite a lot of traveling the last weeks – look forward to have some vacation from next week on. This weekend, I felt so happy to be back to floorball, also meeting some of my wonderful Finnish friends again. Have a look at the match reports of EräViikingit vs. SC Classic and FBC Loisto vs. SB-Pro (the other two ones will likely not yet be published when I update the playlist). On the country side (and in music in general), artists are fighting for their slice of the Christmas business cake. A lot of releases – I had to skip a bunch of them. Still, great new long plays and great new song releases.

  • One Bedroom Apartment by Tenille Arts

Tenille is such a wonderful artist. I enjoyed her new album Girl To Girl, but honestly I hoped for even better. Her lyrics are excellent, though – for example, I loved the way she described all the memories in a One Bedroom Apartment.

  • High On You by Kaylee Rose

Kaylee Rose is an artist, which I more and more enjoy listening to. Her new single release High On You is another really catching track. Hope you enjoy it, too.

  • Not Me Missing You by SixForty1

SixForty1 released a new EP, Started Right Here, this weekend. Like at Tenille’s release, I would love to have more variety – but the songs are really nice individually. I went for Not Me Missing You for the playist.

  • I’ll Keep the Country by Dylan Marlowe

Scanning the new releases, I just love this energetic track by the Georgia artist. An easy selection for the playlist.

  • I Can Do Better Than You by More Than Words

Time to do some country music from my home country again. More Than Words around Stefanie Hertel and her family did a fabulous new single, which just had to be in this five song selection. Great country rock track.

And removed:

  • Guys Like You by Alee
  • Tastes Like A Hangover by Chelsea Berman
  • Wild Hearts by Keith Urban
  • Background by Presley Aronson
  • Voices by Jana Kramer

Country Music Playlist Update Log (18th October 2021)

Packed times: I had a really good time in Iceland this weekend, majorly concentrating on the capital region. The music weekend was packed as well – I had to skip quite a bunch of albums and EPs (including acts like the Zac Brown Band). Nonetheless, I had more reviews than I would typically envisage to produce – on top of material for 18 postings about the Northern island. Look forward to share a lot from the North with you. Here are my five song additions:

  • Oklahoma Breakdown by Toby Keith

Let’s start with the highlight of the week. Having a new Toby Keith after six years is definitely already a good reason for a bright country music listener’s smile. Finally, Peso In My Pocket is even a really great recording. Hard for me to pick the right song – but finally, I felt most comfortable with the Oklahoma Breakdown as a playlist addition.

  • This Kiss by Faith Hill

As said in the previous updated, I feel that I lost a bit track also adding classic tracks to the playlist. This Kiss, one one Faith Hill’s greatest ones, should have been to the list earlier.

  • Palm Trees in Ohio by Ryan Hurd

A great love song by Ryan Hurd – and one of many examples on his new album Pelago, which underline is songwriting excellence. I just liked these lyrics most – other songs would have deserved the nomination as well.

  • Just Hang On by Ty Baynton

Actually, I did not listen to too many Wrong Turns when I had a listen to Ty Baynton’s accordingly named new EP; which has been released this weekend. I just did not have any more free review slots when I ran into it – but this guy definitely deserves a playlist spot. Here is my favorite of the new EP.

  • If Momma Raised Him Right by Jessica Sole

Another new song: If Momma Raised Him RIght by Jessica Sole just felt special to me. I had quite a huge selection of tracks, from which I started to cut down the entries for the New Country Songs Playlists – but this artist was just made for better this week. Really good one.

And removed:

  • Songs You Never Heard by Luke Bryan
  • Friends by Sylvia Aimee
  • Destination by Christina Taylor
  • Up All Night by Deric Ruttan
  • Tomorrow Night by Cassadee Pope

Country Music Playlist Update Log (11th October 2021)

A weekend at home. After so much travelling (and quite some traveling to come soon…), it felt good to slow down a bit. Christmas season feels to start on the music side now, with Josh Turner’s King Size Manger and Roland Kaiser’s Weihnachtszeit being part of the reviews this weekend. Quite a nice selection of songs, even though I feel that there were not too many thrilling released on the country music side of life:

  • Soldier’s Gift by Josh Turner

Josh Turner delivered a really nice Christmas album. Soldier’s Gift is one of the originals on it. A typical US American song, but a really deep story – I liked it and also felt it is a Christmas song you can already listen to in October.

  • Southern Comfort by Crystal Leigh

I ran into the second EP by Crystal Leigh, Trading Skylines. A very interesting artist, hope to hear more from her soon. Southern Comfort is a really nice listen in my point of view, hope you enjoy it too 🙂

  • How Country Feels by Randy Houser

I try to bring back more country classics into the playlist – and one artist, which has not been part of the forty songs so far is Randy Houser. Here is one of his most famous, How Country Feels.

  • New Old Trucks by James Barker Band feat. Dierks Bentley

I heard that James Barker Band were super-proud to be able to have this collaboration with the big Dierks. The result is a really good song – which was an easy choice for these five song additions.

  • Perfect by Sara Evans

Another good old song, this time from a classic female country star: I really love Sara Evans and her music – Perfect is just a new, well-known flavor to the playlist.

And removed:

  • I Let A Damn Good Woman Leave by Riley Green
  • SOme Good News by Emily Rose
  • Hold My Beer Watch This by Chris Young
  • Found This One by Brittany Brodie
  • Country to the Bone by Anthony Nix

Country Music Playlist Update Log (4th October 2021)

Back to rock! I cannot say that Milton Keynes, where I spent the weekend, is the touristic heart of England – but at least they had my favorite musical, Rock of Ages, in there. Thus, I am a happy person and had my shows #33 to #36 of that musical (I feel I missed a few in counting – but they may be due to all the Covid-19 cancelled shows…). Quite a lot of interesting stuff on the country music side as well – hope you enjoy my selection.

  • Down In Flames by Cody Hibbard

Cody released a self-titled EP this weekend. I just did not have the capacity for a proper listen – but I definitely liked the opener, Down In Flames.

  • Wine at the Church, Beer at the Bar by Logan Mize

Logan Mize opened for the reviews this week with his great new album Welcome To Prairieville. No doubt he would make it into the playlist with a song.

  • Tennessee Waltz by Miko Marks & The Resurrection

Great concept EP Race Records by Miko Marks & The Resurrection, who honors classic country and Americana hits. I just went for an all-time classic, the Tennessee Waltz.

  • We Are Tonight by Billy Currington

I originally wanted to have a song of Jesse Cole’s album SAND in here – but it is just not (yet?) available on Spotify. Thus, I went for two classic additions to this playlist. Billy Currington’s We Are Tonight is a good one to cheer you up when the days are getting shorter, darker and colder

  • All The Pretty Girls by Kenny Chesney

I did not have a Kenny Chesney song for quite a while in the playlist. I felt the urge to change it. Here is one of his classics.

And removed:

  • Rockin’ On Again by Micart
  • Southbound by Ryan Kinder
  • Cowboy Loves a Woman by Clay Walker
  • Shuffle by Laci Kaye Booth
  • Opposite Of Love by Ashley Cooke

Country Music Playlist Update Log (27th September 2021)

Still recovering from the Finland – India Davis Cup. Some interesting trips coming up next – one of the next ones is my first one to the United Kingdom after 18 months, visiting my favorite musical Rock of Ages again. This week came with quite some interesting country music, on the album as well as on the single side. Hope you enjoy listening to my playlist.

  • Background by Presley Aronson

Presley Aronson’s song about bullying was one topic in our Spotlight interview last Thursday. A really good one.

  • Highway Will by Taylor McCall

Taylor McCall’s album Black Powder Soul is a pretty good listen with a very signature sound. I selected Highway Will as the addition to the playlist.

  • Before Summer Starts To Fall by Troy Kemp & Katrina Burgoyne

Troy Kemp and Katrin Burgoyne have both been frequent guests in my playlists. Now they are doing a song together – and it is indeed a great listen.

  • Fire Line by Billy Strings

Another really interest new album is Renewal by Billy Strings. For the playlist, I selected his song Fire Line.

  • Voices by Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer has been really active since its recent divorce in social media. Now she is also back on the streaming platforms – with a new country-pop track. I definitely like Voices.

And removed:

  • Adios Cowboy by Midland
  • Sweet Refrain by Son Volt
  • Don’t You Dream Anymore? by Jim Lauderdale
  • Cool by Twinnie
  • Run Out Of Road by Melanie Dyer

Country Music Playlist Update Log (20th September 2021)

Being back in Finland after almost two years, seeing my Indian team back in the Tennis Davis Cup tie against the locals were definitely the highlights of the week to me. I thus also decided to skip some country coverage to free time for sports photography. The key message of the week: Santa Clause is coming to town… A bit too early. The first country music Christmas songs have been released this week. I heard that it is still quite sunny out there in Nashville. Don’t decorate the tree too early!

  • Smoky by Charley Crockett

Charley Crockett’s album Music City USA is really a great listen – so I had really a tough time to choose a song. I went for a track which is a good fit to the playlist. Hope you enjoy the listen.

  • Over You by Stephanie Ryann

Stephanie Ryann’s new song – and I am really happy to also have her as part of my Spotlight interview series today. Really good and deep songs – keep my fingers crossed for her.

  • Tomorrow Night by Cassadee Pope

Cassadee Pope wrote so many songs I really love. Even though her last tracks rather moved towards pop music, there is a heart of country music in Tomorrow Night. Great lady, very good song.

  • Tall Boys by Alexandra Kay

Alexandra Kay is a really interesting artist in my point of view. This weekend, she started to sing about Tall Boys. I am out of that topic – but I like the song.

  • She’s Gonna Leave a Mark by Darrin Morris Band

The Texas-origin Darrin Morris Band is looking back to almost a decade of band history now. This weekend, they released a new single, She’s Gonna Leave a Mark. The song really persuaded me – hope you feel it is a good playlist addition.

And removed:

  • Want It Like That by Brenna Bone
  • Stop Draggin’ Your Boots by Danielle Bradbery
  • Lonely Alone by Clare Dunn
  • T-Shirt by Runaway June
  • Good Time To Me by King Calaway feat. Lainey Wilson

Country Music Playlist Update Log (13th September 2021)

Canada opened their borders this week – under rather moderate conditions. I felt so glad to be back in North America, some 18 months after my last trip. Thus, my coverage was a bit of limited – but I feel that it has overall been a quite good week on Flyctory.com with very versatile and differrent postings. I also feel that the selection of songs this week is coverage quite a range of county music – hope you like these five ones as much as I do.

  • Up All Night by Deric Ruttan

Music from Ontario just feels to be right this week to me. Deric Ruttan is from Bracebridge, some two hours North of Toronto. I ran into his music listening to a local country radio station. The song is over ten years old already – but I feel it is just a good listen.

  • Always Be Home by Carolyn Miller

New songs by Carolyn Miller always have a very high potential to make it into the playlist. Carolyn feels to be really productive this year. I feel it is another great song by the New York artist.

  • A Girl’s Love by Mitchell Tenpenny

Even though my review about his Midtown Diaries EP named ups and downs, quite some songs are really nice. I went for A Girl’s Love, which is one of my favorite.

  • Damn Boy by Christina Taylor

The first posting I made about Christina Taylor was a shared posting about her and Carolyn Miller. Somehow, these two amazing country ladies seem to do a lot of steps in parallel on Flyctory.com – even though they are quite different in their style. What they do have in common, for sure, is that they are great people, very talented artists and regularly release great songs. I love Damn Boy.

  • Spirits, Angels, Or Lies by Riddy Arman

Riddy Arman did an impressive self-titled debut album this week. Really hard to choose a song which is suitable for the playlist. I went for this song – I just felt it is a great fit.

And removed:

  • Bench Seat by Kristen Foreman
  • Ways To Miss You by Tyler Braden
  • Sunny and 75 by Joe Nichols
  • Somebody Does by Tigerlily
  • Every Second Of Us by Carolyn Miller

Country Music Playlist Update Log (6th September 2021)

North America calling! Canada is opening their borders tomorrow – this will give me at least the opportunity to stay some days in Toronto – I originally intended to travel Halifax and Gander at the 20th anniversary of 9/11 – the places where practically all European planes stranded who were too advanced to turn back home at that day. Now, it is already about one and a half year ago since I (completely) crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Feel so blessed that I could do at least the Pittsburgh Penguins tour in February 2020. I try to limit my musical coverage a bit more so that there will be more space for travel blogging again. Some sports lies ahead of me as well. Look forward to have a bit of normal. Here are my weekly song additions:

  • Somebody’s Listening by Jesse Labelle

Jesse Labelle was a bit of a “victim” that I decided to limit music coverage from now on a bit more again. He released a really good EP with Jesse Labelle, Part 1 – it just did not make it into one of the review spots. Still recommend the listen – this was one of my favorites.

  • Highway Like Me by Ashland Craft feat. Marcus King

Ashland Craft’s Travelin’ Kind album is superb – but Highway Like Me just felt to be the emotional highlight of all these songs to me. Hope you like it as much as I do.

  • Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker

Just before I worked on these playlist things, I saw a live stream of the summer festival of a befriended radio station, Country Radio Gilsdorf in Luxembourg. The founder of this amazing small country station performed Wagon Wheel live there. This song has really not been on this playlist yet – time to correct that!

  • Run Out Of Road by Melanie Dyer

One of the new single releases. I just got caught by the very special voice of Melanie Dyer and really loved her new song – thus I felt to share it with you.

  • Met the Man by Tommy Atkins feat. Hollier

Tommy Atkins released two new song on an enhanced recording this weekend. Met the Man is one of them. To make it short: to me, it is one of his best songs so far.

And removed:

  • You Should Have Told Me by Stephanie Quayle
  • Ain’t No Quittin’ You by Alexis Taylor
  • Something Bout Summer by Hillside Outlaws
  • Almost There by Kaylee Rose
  • Something Has To Change by Rodney Crowell

Country Music Playlist Update Log (30th August 2021)

I am on the road again – this time, I am visiting various places in Poland. Not that much on the country music side, but in many other genres, I have been loaded with interesting new releases – thus, it has been a really tough time to select the right postings for Flyctory.com. I feel, the additions to the playlist are really excellent and very versatile this time.

  • Opposite Of Love by Ashley Cooke

I did have some critics on the pricing and release strategy behind the first half of Ashley Cooke’s Already Drank That Beer debut album – nonetheless, these eight songs include some really nice ones. I went for one of my so-far-unreleased favorites.

  • Space by Kenny Foster

So great to have some new music by the wonderful Kenny Foster. So many good news from him the last weeks – and Space is a good one.

  • Cool by Twinnie

Same topic as above: I don’t like that Twinnie is “upgrading” the Hollywood Gypsy album with a new song and thereby somehow fools her die-hard fans. The song is a nice one, though.

  • South On Ya by Luke Combs

Another long-awaited new song on this list – this time it is by Luke Combs. Thus, it is needless to state that it is a great listen.

  • Good Time On Me by King Calaway feat. Lainey Wilson

Just four songs – but very good ones. I went for the amazing duet with Lainey Wilson – really good collaboration on King Calaway’s new EP Midnight.

And removed:

  • Who Are You by Dusty Black
  • Make Him Wait by Abby Anderson
  • Darlin’ Hold On by The Wallflowers feat. Shelby Lynn
  • If I Didn’t Love You by Jason Aldean & Carrie Underwood
  • Me, Myself and the Highway by Whitney Duncan

Country Music Playlist Update Log (23rd August 2021)

I had a relaxing trip to Austria this weekend. Not too many new postings arising from that one, but there will at least be a very interesting Tyrol hotel review during the next weeks. First time since quite a while that I did not have any country music review during the weekend – the New Country Playlist update was also rather thin. Nonetheless, I hope that i found an interesting mix of song additions for the playlist.

  • Wild Hearts by Keith Urban

Starting the playlist update with three new songs. Wild Hearts is a new track by Keith Urban. Good one!

  • Destination by Christina Taylor

I honestly did not have in focus that Christina Taylor releases a new track. She was simply right in our Spotlight Interview in April – her 2021 stuff is amazing. Damn, I would love to have her on a European tour one day.

  • Country to the Bone by Anthony Nix

Anthony Nix’s raspy voice, a powerful country rock sound – I just enjoyed listening to Country to the Bone when I checked out this weekend’s new releases. Thus, he made it straight into this playlist.

  • Boots For Heels by DanaMaria

Since I reviewed her Desert Diamond album in October 2020, I felt I should give this song a wider attention and select it for the playlist. Good opportunity to bring back the lovely German country artist back into this set of forty songs.

  • T-Shirt by Runaway June

Runaway June released a three song short EP this weekend. I typically don’t want to check out releases with less than four songs, so that I skipped backstory – but I decided to bring one of the three track into the playlist.

And removed:

  • Wildest Dreams by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real
  • daddy’s girl by Rachel Wiggins
  • I Got That From You by Christina Taylor
  • Landweilig by Nik Wallner
  • Long Hot Summer by Keith Urban

Country Music Playlist Update Log (16th August 2021)

Just returned from Iceland after a very intense trip – there will be plenty of interesting postings over the next weeks. The country music releases have been very interesting this week again – especially on the singles side, there were some very interesting ones by artists I am friend with or whom do I support. Fun fact about these four additions: all five new songs are by ladies this this – long live the country music women!

  • Friends by Sylvia Aimee

One of my absolute favorites – bad luck that Sylvia Aimee from the Netherlands just does not get the merits for her great songs she absolutely deserves. Friends is another so truthful and great song – hope you enjoy.

  • Tastes Like A Hangover by Chelsea Berman

Another amazing young artist, just from a very different part of the world – and a very different topic in the song: Tastes Like A Hangover is a lovely track by the Australian – hope to see you live on stage one day.

  • Lonely Alone by Clare Dunn

Really good EP by Clare Dunn – I loved her Friday’s release, the EP In This Kind Of LightLonely Alone is the last track of the five songs, it surprised me with powerful country rock.

  • Beautiful World by Jayne Denham

Two entries from Down Under this time: Jayne Denham’s Western Country style just made me smile – Wanted is an amazing album. I finally went for the beautiful closing track and spent some emotional and almost spiritual touch to the playlist.

  • Found The One by Brittany Brodie

Last, but not least, the new single by Canadian artist Brittany Brodie. Just a cool track – I felt it would be the perfect fit for the playlist this week.

And removed:

  • 29 by Carly Pearce
  • Dear Me by Brett Young
  • Symptoms by The Heels
  • My Own Advice by Lauren Jenkins
  • Wiseman by Jolina Carl

Country Music Playlist Update Log (9th August 2021)

I am in Iceland currently – thus, there was just a minimum set of reviews this weeks. Nonetheless, we a had a pretty nice spread of quality and sounds – and five really good additions for the playlist. Hope you do enjoy

  • Some Good News by Emily Rose

Emily Rose’s new EP Wings was the last review of the weekend to me. The song Some Good News was my favorite. Hope you enjoy.

  • Hold My Beer Watch This by Chris Young

I have to admit that I initially was a bit angry when I saw the tracklist of Famous Friends, the new album by Chris Young. You simply know the first half of the album already. One track has been released two and a half year ago. Luckily, there are a bunch of new tracks towards the end of the album. This is one is a good one for a country party.

  • Songs You Never Heard by Luke Bryan

A new one by Luke Bryan! This time, the country music superstar is rather heading for the more gentle sounds in music. Good one!

  • Me, Myself and the Highway by Whitney Duncan

New song by Whitney Duncan: I really like the sound of her new single Me, Myself and the Highway. Felt to share it with you in this playlist.

  • Shuffle by Laci Kaye Booth

Laci Kaye Booth’s self-titled EP was one of the releases I have been looking forward to most – and the artist just did not disappoint me. For the playlist, I selected Shuffle.

And removed:

  • Boot Up by Southerland
  • Butterfly Tattoo by Richie Necker
  • Pretty Damn Close by Gary Allan
  • Moonlight Mingle by LANCO
  • Believe in Love by Charlie Worsham

Country Music Playlist Update Log (2nd August 2021)

If you think, Covid-19 is slowly getting back to normal – I just cannot agree. I had so many re-bookings of travels the last two week. One of them results that I am not preparing this weekly update from a hotel not too far away from Passau in Bavaria, but work from Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy, this time. On top of that, there was so much great music this weekend – sorry to all the artists with good album I just had to skip… Too much other stuff on my list as well. The release of the weekend is undoubtedly Welcome 2 America by Prince – not the best album of the weekend, but the most remarkable. On the country music side, there were so many here good ones. Here are five song additions:

  • Southbound by Ryan Kinder

I expected Ryan Kinder do deliver something good – and he just did with his new album Room To Dream. The only tough question I got was which song I should opt for the playlist. So many good ones.

  • Sweet Refrain by Son Volt

Electro Melodier by Son Volt did not reach a rating similar to Southbound – but Son Volt did a pretty nice album. They definitely entertained me and deserve this playlist spot.

  • Stop Draggin’ Your Boots by Danielle Bradbery

So good to be able to listen to a new one by Danielle Bradbery – she is just such a lovely artist. Her new one, Stop Draggin’ Your Boots has a strong pop touch. But as long as she is wearing boots in her music videos, she gives me a touch time to take her out from the playlist.

  • Cowboy Loves a Woman by Clay Walker

Ryan Kinder did great – but the block of reviews already started with a great release. I absolutely enjoyed listening to the rather classic sound of Clay Walker, which still feels very modern. Country Loves a Woman is my favorite song of Texas To Tennessee.

  • Don’t You Dream Anymore? by Jim Lauderdale

Really nice new album by Jim Lauderdale: I really loved listening to his Hope – and this time, he also made it to the Top Pick!s. Don’t You Dream Anymore? is one of my album favorites.

And removed:

  • Match Made in Hell by Emma Moore
  • Identity by Sylvia Aimee
  • 1926 by Lori Rayne
  • City Of Music by Brad Paisley
  • High in the Mountain by Vincent Neil Emerson

Country Music Playlist Update Log (26th July 2021)

I’ve been on vacation in East Frisia, Germany, this week. Some interesting travel reviews are about to be prepared soon – you might have already spotted the Pictured Story of the iconic Pilsum Light Tower. There was not too much new stuff on the country long-player side, but I feel, we’ve got some interesting additions to the playlist. Hope you enjoy.

  • Wiseman by Jolina Carl

A very good sound from Germany: Jolina Carl released her Mexican Overdrive this Friday. Very nice songs, which make you feel that they have been produced in Nashville. I went for my favorite song, Wiseman.

  • Something Has To Change by Rodney Crowell

A really good listen, more on the classic side is Triage by Rodney Crowell. I really loved to listen to his tunes, this is one of my favorites

  • If I Didn’t Love You by Jason Aldean & Carrie Underwood

That’s purely an all-star song, ain’t it? Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood join forces in this new single – no doubt that this track has been a hot candidate for my playlist.

  • Rockin’ On Again by Micart

I really get a lot of good feedback on the special editions of my Country Music Picks featuring German or German-speaking artists. Micart was one of the acts featured in my second edition, which I released this week. Really good song.

  • Long Hot Summer by Keith Urban

This week was a good opportunity to add some classic country songs to the playlist. There hasn’t been Keith Urban for a while – let’s see if 2021 will really be a Long Hot Summer.

And removed:

  • When I Say I Do Today by Carolyn Miller
  • Big Truck by Dillon Carmichael
  • Malibu Blue by Alexander Ludwig
  • Crushing by Nikita Skogen
  • Cowboy by Callie Twisselman

Country Music Playlist Update Log (19th July 2021)

The floods in Germany have been of course the most important event of the week. The house, which my flat belongs to, was luckily safe – however, the water was some ten meters close to our cellars. No catastrophe at all at the playlist update – several really good new tracks – I hope you enjoy them.

  • Every Second Of Us by Carolyn Miller

In regards of high quality releases, Carolyn Miller is indeed one of the most reliable country artists I know. Another really beautiful love song – hope you enjoy Every Second Of Us as much as I do.

  • Landweilig by Nik Wallner

Many people who discussed this song in German country forums stated something like “I never felt German lyrics country music could be something good – but Nik Wallner is smashing it”: His second single release is a lovely praising of countryside life – a track as made in Nashville.

  • Adios Cowboy by Midland

Midland just had to be on this list this week. Their new EP The Last Resort is just too good – Adios Cowboy is such an amazing listen, I just absolutely love it.

  • Believe In Love by Charlie Worsham

Charlie Worsham released his EP Sugarcane this week – and Believe In Love is simply my favorite. Really promising recording – hope to hear some more track by this guy.

  • Almost There by Kaylee Rose

Kaylee Rose is more amd more establishing as a frequent artist in my playlist. I just love her style – Almost There is just another really good production.

And removed:

  • Down To Earth by Brett Kissel
  • You Never Came Home by The Steel Woods
  • When The Whiskey Runs Out by Andrew Jannakos
  • Lighthouse by pez
  • Perfect on Paper by Royal South

Country Music Playlist Update Log (12th July 2021)

This weekend, I am staying in Styria (Steiermark) in Austria in a really interesting hotel – looking forward to share it with you during the next weeks. This week, I had a lot of amazing music in the blog, so that it have been tough picks for the major playlist. Hope you enjoy my selection.

  • My Own Advice by Lauren Jenkins

Two postings about Lauren Jenkins this week – not that surprising that she is represented in the playlist inductees this week. First of all, I praised her Running Out Of Road as a Song of My Life – and on Friday, I loved her Miles On Me, Part 1, the first part of her new album, sliced down to an EP. Here is my favorite of that EP.

  • Darlin’ Hold On by The Wallflowers feat. Shelby Lynn

The Wallflowers released an amazing album Exit Wounds. The album definitely deserved a song addition. I really loved that track.

  • Cowboy by Callie Twisselman

Nice EP debut with her five tracks of Closure – I really enjoyed Callie and her sound. Cowboy simply got something special.

  • Somebody Does by Tigirlily

Two young ladies from North Dakota, who released five songs in their self-titled debut EP. I called Somebody Does the fillet steak of the EP in my review.

  • Something Bout Summer by Hillside Outlaws

The only song addition to the playlist, which is not linked to a review posting on Flyctory.com this week. The Canadian duo did a great single release this week – I just felt they should be included to my key playlist.

And removed:

  • To The Guys Who Date My Girl by Thomas Rhett
  • Nashville, Indiana by O’Shea
  • Hell Yeah! by Nik Wallner
  • Ain’t The Same by Blackberry Smoke
  • Gira De Desamor by Kat & Alex

Country Music Playlist Update Log (5th July 2021)

I am still working on having a larger backlog on the travel side again. This weekend, I visited some really interesting places – the first review of this trip will very likely hit you today already. The country single side is a bit of an up and down – also due to the 4th July weekend, there might have been a bit of less releases. On the EP and album side, there were some amazing songs, though.

Finally, due to her new single, the first song on this list of songs added to the playlist, I decided to add Christina Taylor to the list of my Featured Artists.

  • I Got That From You by Christina Taylor

I just love her (and that’s why I upgraded her status at the website): Christina Taylor did another great song. I Got That From You is one of my absolute favorite from the lovely young country artist with the very special voice.

  • I Let A Damn Good Woman Leave by Riley Green

Full rating! Not that surprising that Riley Green’s EP release Behind The Bar will add a song to the playlist. Just too good – it was simply a tough task to select the right song.

  • Moonlight Mingle by LANCO

Now we know that LANCO are Honky-Tonk Hippies – at least according to the title of their new EP.. Hard choice for the right choice again – but I went for this one.

  • Guys Like You by Alee

Alee is really an amazing Canadian artist. I especially loved her new song Guys Like You, which has a lot of power and magic to me. Just had to add her and her music to the playlist.

  • Ain’t No Quittin’ You by Alexis Taylor

Alexis Taylor’s debut EP Ain’t No Quittin’ You has been my last addition to the reviews of this weekend. The songs have a lot of promising character. I simply went for the title track here.

And removed:

  • Heels In Hand by Priscilla Block
  • Where The Cottonwood Grows by Alan Jackson
  • Workin’ From The Other Side by Jesse Keith Whitley
  • Strong Man by Natalie Pearson
  • American Summer by Kylie Trout

Country Music Playlist Update Log (28th June 2021)

I have been to Italy this weekend. The key area of my visit was around Maranello, the home of Ferrari. There will be a bunch of interesting travel postings the next weeks from this trip. The country music week was a really good one as well. After I struggled to find songs for both playlists, I had so many good candidates this time again. Hope you love my selection.

  • Pretty Damn Close by Gary Allan

I initially felt that Ryan Allan’s new album Ruthless could be a fail. But the more I listened, the more I saw that I was wrong. Good luck. Pretty Damn Close is just an amazing listen in my point of view.

  • High on the Mountain by Vincent Neil Emerson

Nice self-titled album release by Vincent Neil Emerson. I really had a nice listen. As I do most of the time, I just added my favorite track of the album to the playlist.

  • Gira De Desamor by Kat And Alex

Maybe it is just because I have been surrounded by Italian while selection the song – but this is my first-ever Spanish track in the Country Music Playlists. Kat and Alex were part of the 18th season of American Idol. Both have Spanish-speaking background. Kat’s family has Cuban roots, while Alex’ family is from Puerto Rico. I really enjoy listening to their new single.

  • Symptoms by The Heels

I feel that the West Canadian girls of The Heels absolutely deserve some more Flyctory.com love. Their new album I Am is definitely a good listen. I opted for one of the songs, which have not been released as single yet – just my favorite one.

  • Perfect on Paper by Royal South

Always good to listen to new music by Royal South. This time, Sarah Beth and her bandmates did another really catching track. I just had to add Perfect on Paper and the characteristic Royal South sound to the playlist.

And removed:

  • Losin’ Sleep Over A Girl by Canaan Smith
  • Straight Outta The Country by Justin Moore
  • Loser by Christina Taylor
  • Never Go Back by Henriette
  • Let It Break by Kelsey Lamb

Country Music Playlist Update Log (21th June 2021)

Even though there were quite a lot of new releases, especially on the singles side, I was very picky with country music this week. Only 14 additions to the New Country Songs playlists and also rather few reviews over the weekend. The next weekends will be in general less busy in music, as I am going to collect a lot of new impressions for the travel blogging. This time, my additions contain one new artist from Germany, two cool single releases and two classics.

  • Lighthouse by pez

Yeah, pez just cannot deny his Bavarian accent – but the songs in his debut EP All Lowercase are really well done. I even pushed the new Helloween album by one day in coverage for this release. Lighthouse is a really cool song.

  • Ways To Miss You by Tyler Braden

Alabama native and former firefighter Tyler Braden is out with a new track – Ways To Miss You is definitely another good one.

  • daddy’s girl by Rachel Wiggins

Rachel Wiggins is a young artist, who came from Greater Atlanta to Nashville to study songwriting. daddy’s girl is definitely a beauty, loved to listen to her sound.

  • You Should Have Told Me by Stephanie Quayle

I ran into Stephanie Quayle’s music during the 2019 CMA Fest. This time, I selected one of her classic tracks as a playlist addition. Hope you enjoy her powerful style as much as I do.

  • Sunny and 75 by Joe Nichols

One of these “whenever there is an opportunity, I will put it on the playlist” songs… Now we got the chance, and Joe Nichols is in, with one of his most successful songs.

And removed:

  • Straight Up Sideways by Lainey Wilson
  • Like You Found Me by Lauren Jenkins
  • Complicated by Gary Quinn
  • Corn by Blake Shelton
  • Running On Empty by Daniel Bonte

Country Music Playlist Update Log (14th June 2021)

Quite busy times the last week. I had a trip through Germany this weekend (again) – there will be quite a lot of interesting contents featuring planes, ships and trains based on that experience. The country music side was also quite exciting. I did not have that many major releases in the Media Review section – but there are indeed some really nice ones which absolutely deserve to be the new list members:

  • Wildest Dreams by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real

I love the Nelson family. Lukas Nelson and his band released a rather quiet and slow album this week. I really enjoyed listening to A Few Stars Apart – and Wildest Dreams was one of my most favorite selections.

  • Butterfly Tattoo by Richie Necker

Some new music from Germany: Richie Necker is having a lot CV in the German music scene already. I really enjoyed his rock album New Songs and Untold Stories – and I felt that Butterfly Tattoo is just a nice fit to this playlist.

  • Make Him Wait by Abby Anderson

I just felt to add a classic track again. Abby is such a wonderful artist and a very friendly person. Here is (regarding Spotify streams) her most successful song so far, Make Him Wait.

  • City Of Music by Brad Paisley

Two single releases of the week made it into the playlist. Brad Paisley published an amazing song, City of Music, which has been a really easy selection. I am sure you agree!

  • Want It Like That by Brenna Bone

Even though her housemate Christina Taylor is have more presence and more love here on Flyctory.com, I really love Brenna Bone and her powerful music. Want It Like That, her new release, is one of her best songs so far, I feel.

And removed:

  • Here’s a Winner by Jack McBannon
  • Ain’t Got You by Tom Beck
  • Country Roads by Elvie Shane
  • On The Day I Die by The Shires feat. Jimmie Allen
  • The Opportunity To Help Somebody Through It by Jim Lauderdale

Country Music Playlist Update Log (7th June 2021)

I had an interesting trip through Northern Germany this week, making use of a bank holiday in the region I live in. Two of the postings emerging from that trip are already online, my story about the Eschede Derailment Disaster, the worst-ever train crash in Germany, and my thoughts about Heide-Park Resort during pandemic times – the first amusement park, which opened it doors again in Germany (some did in the meantime as well…).

I had loads of music to select from for the two playlists. For the New Country Songs list only, I had a selection of over forty tracks, which I typically try to narrow to 17 to 20 at most. There were some interesting releases, which made it to this list, on top of two songs based on country music reviews this week. By the way, with Tennessee by Australian Katrina Burgoyne, the last song addition as of 2020 left the playlist this week.

  • Dear Me by Brett Young

His new album Weekends Look A Little Different These Days would have been absolutely top class – if it wasn’t that short. So many good songs – but finally a bit of cheating to his fans. I will do a posting about that topic soon from my point of view. The song Dear Me, a song written from Brett Young to himself at younger years, is genius.

  • When The Whiskey Runs Out by Andrew Jannakos

Andrew Jannakos released his EP Gone Too Soon on Friday as well. I have been even a bit of disappointed, as I feel that this guy is having so much potential. When The Whiskey Runs Out feels to be a very typical country song – I just loved it.

  • Running On Empty by Daniel Bonte

When I googled Daniel Bonte for bio, I found a doctor, a photographer… But of course, there is this California artist as well. I loved his straight sound with a touch of pop and rock. Running On Empty is his new single release.

  • Let It Break by Kelsey Lamb

The music by Kelsey Lamb already popped up here and there on the playlists. I really loved her new single Let It Break.

  • American Summer by Kylie Trout

Why not adding some summer feeling to the playlist? Temperatures are rising, people are allowed to do more stuff outside (also in Germany). Kylie Trout delivers her soundtrack from the other-side-of-the-pond perspective.

And removed:

  • Tennessee by Katrina Burgoyne
  • That’s The Way by Jo Dee Messina
  • Sad Songs by The Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band
  • People Break by Eric Church
  • Southern Man by Travis Tritt

Country Music Playlist Update Log (31st May 2021)

I have been to Mallorca this week and thus just tried to keep the website alive and running – you might have wondered here and then about the unusual times I released some of the postings. The country music week was really interesting – especially on the female country music side, there have been a lot of interesting releases. You will also see that in the New Country Songs Playlists, where I had a lot of interesting song additiosn.

  • Crushing by Nikita Skogen

I absolutely love the music of the Norwegian and really enjoyed my Spotlight interview with her in November 2020. This Friday, she released a new song, Crushing.

  • Boot Up by Southerland

Southerland released a really nice debut EP, Boot UpI went for the “boring choice” this time and shared the title track with you.

  • Ain’t The Same by Blackberry Smoke

The most interesting release on the country music side is has very likely been You Hear Georgia, the new album by Blackberry Smoke. My favorite song was Ain’t the Same – hope you enjoy it as well.

  • 1926 by Lori Rayne

I just happened to run into the debut EP by Lori Rayne. Unfortunately, bio and press information about her is really low. The songs are cool – and the title track about her grandfather is definitely a good listen.

  • I Only Date Cowboys by Kylie Morgan

Kylie Morgan is a young artist, who is about to release her debut EP very soon. This week, she released a new single, I Only Date Cowboys. I really loved her sound and had to share it with you.

And removed:

  • Every Little Bit Of That by Trey Gonzalez
  • Streets Of Dallas by Jon Randall
  • I Know She Ain’t Ready by Luke Combs
  • Take Off by Carver Louis
  • A Whistle To Blow by Adam Douglas

Country Music Playlist Update Log (24th May 2021)

Central European country just should not be underestimated: On top of the three German artist songs and a couple of British acts, I this time add two German (if I count Alexander Ludwig as German) and a Dutch artist song. Great new music and also a nice range of tracks this time.

  • Identity by Sylvia Aimee

I absolutely love Sylvia Aimee and her music – and I loved the experiment to focus on a single track in the latest episode of my Spotlight interviews. A chat just about her new single Identity – the song is amazing.

  • Hell Yeah! by Nik Wallner

He finally did it! We waited so long for the first single release by Nik Wallner. It is such a great, catching German country rocker – hope you enjoy, even if you don’t get the lyrics.

  • Corn by Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton’s new album Body Language is definitely a good one. Nonetheless, I felt some weaknesses and so it barely made it to the Top Pick! ratings. Corn is my favorite track.

  • Malibu Blue by Alexander Ludwig

An actor doing modern country music? We had a few of them in the playlist already (and Tom Beck is still in…) – this time, the Canadian-German Alexander Ludwig makes it into my set of songs. His self-titled EP is a really good one – Malibu Blue is my favorite.

  • The Opportunity To Help Somebody Through It by Jim Lauderdale

I absolutely enjoyed Jim Lauderdale’s album When Carolina Comes Home Again, when I reviewed it in March 2020. There is new stuff coming from this classic country song guy, I absolutely enjoy his new release.

And removed:

  • I Loved You Tough by Jimmy Weber
  • I Hope You Get Drunk by Brady Kenneth
  • In All Things by Leslie Jordan & Danny Myrick
  • The Answer by Fancy Hagood
  • Iron and Steel by Soul Circus Cowboys

Country Music Playlist Update Log (17th May 2021)

After a very buzy week of re-booking tons of flights and trying to make new trips (I will have a quite interesting one to Iceland in August…), I am now more optimistic that Flyctory.com can increase the number of travel postings again soon (which also means that there will be a decrease in music postings again). Music just made it to be the dominating topic on the blog – first time there are more music postings than travel ones.

The week was awesome! So much really good music. Apart from that I loved my interview with Linda Mar / Linda Marlen Runge – if you haven’t checked it out, give her a read. I was amazing how big her fan base is – so many reads within the first 24 hours already. There were a lot of amazing music releases as well, so that especially breaking them down to just five candidates has been quite a challenge. Hope you enjoy my selection.

  • Where The Cottonwood Grows by Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson’s 21 song epic album Where Have You Gone has likely been the most awaited one of this weekend. The song has a lot of rather slow track, I went for a more powerful one, though.

  • Big Truck by Dillon Carmichael

Dillon Carmichael did a great job with his EP Hot Beer. I could have chosen several songs of the EP, they all would have been a great fit to the playlist. I did the boring option and simply went for the latest release (which is an amazing track as well, of course)

  • Workin’ From The Other Side by Jesse Keith Whitley

With his album Breakin’ Ground, Jesse Keith Whitley takes a first step continuing the music dynasty of his family. With this song, Workin’ From The Other Side, he is singing an amazing track about his father

  • Strong Man by Natalie Pearson

I had a lot of really cool songs by female country artists from Australia on my list to form the playlists for this week. For my key playlist I finally went for the most powerful track, Strong Man by Natalie Pearson.

  • You Never Came Home by The Steel Woods

All Of Your Stones was definitely the emotional highlight of this music week. The last songs of The Steel Woods recorded with their guitarist Jason Cope. This song sounds like a farewell to him at first sight, the story is a very different one, though.

And removed:

  • Country Does by Luke Bryan
  • She Takes Me Home by The Cumberland River Project
  • Top Drawer by Joey Hendricks
  • Thinkin ‘Bout You by Dustin Lynch feat. MacKenzie Porter
  • What Do They Know by Tyler Braden

Country Music Playlist Update Log (10th May 2021)

Last week has been very busy, not just on the music side. Definitely, I enjoyed this Flyctory.com week. Also much more optimistic that traveling will be easier soon again. I spent a lot of time with moving and re-booking trips. I also decided that I will no longer continue to hope for some time in Nashville in June – though I still feel it’s a shame that a blog like Flyctory.com which is so closely related to country music has that little content about Music City – I just visited all the key sites already before I founded this blog. Hope you enjoy my pick of five for this playlist:

  • Bench Seat by Kristen Foreman

Glad that my Spotlight interviews are growing again. After having had Christina Taylor recently, I this week chatted with Kristen Foreman. Here is her current single, Bench Seat. I by the way promise you that there will be some really interesting chats in the next weeks!

  • Southern Man by Travis Tritt

Fourteen years for a new album: I had some struggle with Set In Stone, but cool to have some new music by Travis Tritt. I went for Southern Man, just felt that it is also a nice fit to the playlist.

  • Match Made In Hell by Emma Moore

Two additions from Great Britain this week: Emma Moore definitely deserved the spot with her lovely EP the table. I loved the powerful closing track from the very beginning – have fun with the Match Made In Hell.

  • Complicated by Gary Quinn

So glad that there is a new song by Gary Quinn. As always, he is delivering an amazing quality of music – hope you enjoy the song as well.

  • Who Are You by Dusty Black

Last, but not least: country rock with powerful guitar riffs by Dusty Black. Just felt that the playlist urgently needs to have harder flavor.

And removed:

  • Lost But Found by Ann Doka
  • Devil On Your Shoulder by Kora Naughton
  • Tequila by Angie Lynn Carter
  • Got It From My Mama by Honey County
  • You’ll Always Be My Baby by Alan Jackson

Country Music Playlist Update Log (3th May 2021)

Also regarding all the outstanding tasks, I am still recovering from my recent sickness. At least, I had the opportunity to gather some material for travel postings in Spain again. On the music side, there was also quite a bunch of great music – hard time to select the right ones for the playlist.

  • Never Go Back by Henriette

I just tried out something new in my Country Music Picks. Honestly, I neglected to update this category in the last months too much – so I re-started with a posting about German country music. Some really good ones, some which may be a bit tougher to listen to. Henriette (here’s her debut EP review) is definitely on the positive side – and her 2021 single Never Go Back is a really nice one.

  • Heels In Hand by Priscilla Block

After releasing her strong self-titled EP, Priscilla Block clearly deserves a spot in the playlist. I opted for my favorite track, Heels In Hand – but almost any other song would have been a great fit to my songs as well.

  • To The Guys That Date My Girls by Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett just did not leave any chance this week: he is the artist in focus, his Country Again: Side A is the country release in focus this week. Just too good. I selected this amazing song about what a future boyfriend for one his daughters needs to me alike.

  • On The Day I Die by The Shires feat. Jimmie Allen

That one is indeed a great Trans-Atlantic collaboration, ain’t it? Jimmie Allen is doing music with The Shires – and the product is just a great single. Nice new release.

  • Nashville, Indiana by O’Shea

Another great new song is Nashville, Indiana. I would really like to feature this small village on Flyctory.com one day. The artist is O’Shea, who did an amazing job.

And removed:

  • A Guy With a Girl by Blake Shelton
  • My Favorite Song by Alyssa Trahan
  • Do You Wanna Go Out? by Emily Lockett
  • Boy’s Still Got It by Olivia Lane
  • Jeep Thing by Bailey Callahan

Country Music Playlist Update Log (26th April 2021)

Quite a tough week for me: I was ill practically all the week – first after a back problem, secondly after the Astra Zeneca vaccination, part 1. The musical side of the week went much more positive, though – really enjoyed a lot of great music. The list of good singles this week was not that long, though. Still, I had a tough time to select my list of five additions. Hope you like them.

  • County Roads by Elvie Shane

Elvie Shane’s debut EP County Roads is something like the hidden gem of the week. I really loved this music, which I just run into by chance. Really good EP – and I simply went for the title track.

  • Straight Outta The Country by Justin Moore

Good publication, title track again: Justin Moore left no doubt that his Straight Outta The Country eight track album is a good one. Again, I chose the title track, which is a bit of more complex and versatile than the other songs.

  • Iron And Steel by Soul Circus Cowboys

Iron and Steel by the Soul Circus Cowboys is the only addition to the playlist this week which is not reflecting a Flyctory.com posting. A very robust country rocker with a blast of guitar power.

  • A Whistle To Blow by Adam Douglas

Adam Douglas has a very unique style. The Arkansas artist is now living in Norway and has quite some popularity there. Not too surprising – if you listen to his music, e.g. his new album Better Angels. I went for one of the songs with the strongest country music touch.

  • Loser by Christina Taylor

I just love Christina Taylor and her music. The more I felt gifted to have her in my Spotlight interviews this week. Lovely to chat with her – and new music coming soon.

And removed:

  • Leave The Night Burning by Rachel Lipsky
  • When You Wake Up by Two Story Road
  • Come Turn Me On by Casey Barnes
  • Water by Tracy Lawrence
  • Cowgirl Blues by Midland

Country Music Playlist Update Log (19th April 2021)

I had to scan a lot of great music this weekend. Bad luck that I am physically limited a bit currently, but I hope I can give you a nice mixture of different songs this week again.

  • People Break by Eric Church

When this playlist is updated, you already know my reviews of all three Eric Church albums, Heart& / and and Soul. Of course, I had to limit myself to one of my favorite songs from Heart (which is my favorite part anyway).

  • I Know She Ain’t Ready by Luke Combs

After Luke Combs has been a long guest on the playlist with his Six Feet Apart during the pandemic times, I just felt to add one of his classics, I Know She Ain’t Ready.

  • Take Off by Carver Louis

Carver Louis make it to my reviews with his second EP, Take Off. A bit of monotonous, but with a lot of potential. I especially liked the title track.

  • Got It From My Mama by Honey County

A new song by Honey County. While they have been to the New Country Hits playlists a couple of time, this is their debut on my “major” playlist.

  • You’ll Always Be My Baby by Alan Jackson

Just about a month until Alan Jackson’s new album, Where Have You Gone will be released. This song is a song Alan Jackson wrote for the weddings of his daughters. Really promising!

And removed:

  • I Hold On by Dierks Bentley
  • Falling by Chelsea Berman
  • Last Cigarette by Morgan Wade
  • Gold by The Wandering Hearts
  • 40 Wagen Westwärts by Truck Stop

Country Music Playlist Update Log (12th April 2021)

I had a bit of travelling this Friday, so that I was not that sad that there haven’t been too many new releases I felt to review on top of my original plannings. Despite the update of the New Country Songs playlists just had relatively few songs, there have been some really amazing and interesting new releases this week. The first addition to the playlist is of course the most special to me.

  • Like You Found Me by Lauren Jenkins

A new release by Lauren Jenkins! Already the countdown to her new song Like You Found Me made me so excited. She also announced that there will be new releases and a in fact an album in several stages. Enjoy the song!

  • Down To Earth by Brett Kissel

The Canadian country artist released a great new album, What Is Life?. A bunch of very personal songs lead to an amazing listen. For the playlist, I decided to go for Down To Earth.

  • Sad Songs by The Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band

You can’t describe it, you have to listen to it: Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is a trio, which is doing a blend of country, blues and rock. The album Dance Songs For The Hard TImes absolutely blew my mind and finally the reason that I cannot state that Brett Kissel’s album is my album of the week. I selected Sad Songs just as it is the best fit to the playlist. There are a lot of amazing other ones as well.

  • The Answer by Fancy Hagood

Fancy Hagood did a really nice album with Southern Curiosity, even though it was not competitive to the two albums I stated before. The Answer is an amazing sad love song, which just hurts while listening. Enjoy your tears!

  • Jeep Thing by Bailey Callahan

Looking at the new single releases, I just loved to listen to Jeep Thing, the new single by Florida country artist Bailey Callahan. Very characteristic sound – hope you enjoy the listen as well.

And removed:

  • Getaway by Brian John Harwood
  • The Match by Lucero
  • The Longer I Lay Here by Adam Hambrick feat. Jilian Jacqueline
  • Beat Still My Heart by Jimbo Mathus & Andrew Bird
  • Make a Life, Not a Living  by Brett Kissel

Country Music Playlist Update Log (5th April 2021)

Likely due to the Easter weekend, there was not too much new music this weekend. Still there was quite some amazing stuff, so I feel that there five really strong additions to my playlist this Monday.

  • When I Say I Do Today by Carolyn Miller

Carolyn Miller originally wrote this song for her husband at her wedding. It would have been a shame not to share it. Lovely new single!

  • Streets Of Dallas by Jon Randall

Neon Texas unfortunately just includes four songs – but the EP by Grammy Award winner Jon Randall, who is telling some stories from his home state, is just amazing. Loved to listen to all four ones – this is my favorite.

  • 40 Wagen westwärts by Truck Stop

If you haven’t recognized it yet: there have been four German acts in this playlist already. Doesn’t that illustrate that Germany is not too bad in country. Now, I am even daring to add a fifth one. Truck Stop are one of the big names in the German country scene, doing very traditional country music with a Schlager touch. 40 Wagen Westwärts, a track from their this week release Liebe, Lust und Laster is a song which is quite modern. Hope you enjoy some German language in here.

  • Losin’ Sleep Over A Girl by Canaan Smith

There is absolutely no doubt – the country album of the week is High Country Sound by Canaan Smith. He just gave me one really tough task here: to select the right song (out of twelve) for this playlist. I went for the amazing final song, a hymn to his wife and his daughter.

  • In All Things by Leslie Jordan & Danny Myrick

Not too rarely, I struggle to listen to Christian country music. I am atheist, but very often the genre is just doing too much cherishing in my point of view. Thus, I have been a bit afraid when I saw that comedian Leslie Jordan is releasing a country gospel album – but he is doing a great job with good collaborations at Company’s Comin’. This one with Danny Myrick is my favorite.

And removed:

  • Song Of The Summer by Tebey
  • No Shade by Brooke Eden
  • Flatline by Carolyn Miller
  • Different by Hayden Joseph
  • That’s How You Know You’re Livin’  by Adam Warner

Country Music Playlist Update Log (29th March 2021)

With Germany increasing the lock-down measures from next week onward, I filled my Flyctory.com travel backlog with some more travel review material. Nonetheless, there was quite a bunch of interesting country music as well – especially on the singles side. Here is my last update in March 2021.

  • What Do They Know by Tyler Braden

Tyler Braden is the only song addition I base on a music review this week: in fact What Do They Know is “just” a new single, but he released it as a small EP with three additional songs. Really good stuff.

  • Tequila by Angie Lynn Carter

This week, Angie Lynn Carter released her new single Tequila. I nice song, which really made me smile.

  • Boy’s Still Got It by Olivia Lane

The lovely Olivia Lane released quite some new music the last weeks. Boy’s Still Got It is a song which I enjoyed listening.

  • Gold by The Wandering Hearts

New tunes by The Wandering Hearts. Really great to listen to listen to Gold by one of Britain’s finest choices of the genre.

  • Every Little Bit Of That by Trey Gonzales

Last, but not least, I really enjoyed this released by Trey Gonzales. Nice voice and a very present and good-to-listen-to modern country song.

And removed:

  • Girl I Used To Know by Colton Rice
  • Single Problem by Petric
  • Heart Shut by Alex Hall feat. Tenille Townes
  • Turn This Night On by Tobacco Rd Band
  • Sleeping On The Blacktop by Christina Taylor

Country Music Playlist Update Log (22nd March 2021)

Promising weekend: I had some travel stuff, as Germany is opening museums and zoos under certain conditions. Thus, I spread the music reviews over the full weekend. Quite some interesting stuff, including the previews I had during the week. Finally, I feel there are five really strong additions to the playlist:

  • Last Cigarette by Morgan Wade

Morgan Wade had a really nice debut with her album Reckless. An interesting artist, hope to hear more from her in the future. I just loved the songwriting behind Last Cigarette, so I went for this track.

  • Devil On Your Shoulder by Kora Naughton

Countrypop from Australia: still a teenager (hard to guess…), Kora Naugthon released Nineteen on Friday. I am really impressed of the country scene Down Under and get in touch with a lot of good music from there. Devil On Your Shoulder was my favorite song of the album.

  • Cowgirl Blues – Jess Carson Vocal by Midland

I would say that on the country music side, The Sonic Ranch is the release of the week. The key reason is that it is in fact a soundtrack for the Midland documentary, which has been published by CMT. Interesting experiment: it contains the same song, Cowgirl Blues in two versions with different singers – I liked the Jess Carson version more.

  • Thinking ‘Bout You by Dustin Lynch feat. MacKenzie Porter

There were surprisingly many interesting new duets out there in the world of country music. You find two more in the New Country Songs playlists. My favorite, however, was the new single by Dustin Lynch and MacKenzie Porter. Hope you enjoy, too.

  • That’s The Way by Jo Dee Messina

A classic: Jo Dee Messina’s Heads Carolina, Tails California was one of the starting tracks of this playlist. The song stayed in there for over 160 days. I really love her songs and her music – so I felt she should be back in the playlist. That’s The Way is just a nice fit to the sound of my music, I feel.

And removed:

  • Make It Work by Ryan Laird
  • Like A Hit To Me by Troy Kemp
  • Nobody Somebody by Gary Quinn
  • This Is The Night by Jake Hoot
  • Getting Closer by Kaylee Bell

Country Music Playlist Update Log (15th March 2021)

Wow, this week was intense. I luckily got a lot of albums before Friday (even some for which I published the review during the weekend) – I feel it has been really an interesting week songs between the schlager debut by Vivien Gold and the amazing 1980’s touch rock by Chez Kane. Unfortunately, there were not too many country releases this week – I also had to skip a view as basic information was missing. If you want your music to be promoted, a somehow reasonable version of the cover picture is highly appreciated!

Five interesting new songs in the playlist. I put in a German country song as well – quite a “classic” already by Tom Beck. Four out of five artists who make it to my playlist for the very first time. Hope you enjoy my selection.

  • Top Drawer by Joey Hendricks

Joey Hendricks was finally the only country music representative in my reviews this week. I really enjoyed his EP Between The Clouds. This song, Top Drawer, is just amazing songwriting in my point of view.

  • Ain’t Got You by Tom Beck

This is really country music made in Germany. Sounds so mature and Nashville-ish, doesn’t it? Even more fascinating, Tom Beck is majorly an actor. Ain’t Got You is a 2013 song, but definitely a great tune.

  • Water by Tracy Lawrence

A bit of a classic touch by adding Water by Tracy Lawrence. I really liked this single, which he released this week.

  • I Hope You Get Drunk by Brady Kenneth

A new come from Canada this week: Brady Kenneth is a Manitoba artists – and this song just had to make it to the set of additions. Hilarious!

  • Do You Wanna Go Out? by Emily Lockett

Emily Lockett is a young British artist. After having seen her live for the first time during the 2019 British Country Music Festival, I absolutely fell in love with her music – she is an amazing person as well, as you could see in my September Spotlight Interview with her. Here is her new single, Do You Wanna Go Out?.

And removed:

  • Diesel by Granger Smith feat. Earl Dibbles
  • Mama Drank by Jessi Alexander
  • All She Wants by Whitney Duncan
  • Heartbreak Tonight by Daniel Holmes
  • Paradise by Hailey Mae Campbell

Country Music Playlist Update Log (8th March 2021)

After I had such an intense time the week before, the country music weekend felt rather weak this time, especially in regards of albums and EPs. One thing which majorly touched me this week was the unfair play by LEGO® against their competitors on the German / European market. I would be very happy if you read the posting about it.

On the singles side, however, there have been some really interesting songs – so that selecting five one for my key playlist was rather difficult.

  • Sleeping On The Backtop by Christina Taylor

Even though her short EP Covers Vol. 1 was rather a goodie to her fans, I was so glad to listen to music by Christina Taylor again. Such an amazing artist, who said there will be new stuff (originals) soon. Sleeping On The Backtop is a Colter Wall cover.

  • My Favorite Song by Alyssa Trahan

My review of Alyssa Trahan’s album Baby Blues & Stilettos got quite some responses on social media – so I guess I am by far not the only one who is loving her music. She feels to be very closely linked to her fanbase – I finally selected My Favorite Song for the playlist.

  • Beat Still My Heart by Jimbo Mathus & Andrew Bird

These 13 by Jimbo Mathus and Andrew Bird is indeed a very special collaboration – and a very good one. No doubt that these two guys should promote a track to the playlist – and went for my album’s favorite, Beat Still My Heart.

  • Come Turn Me On by Casey Barnes

I more and more love the the country songs I am listening to from Australia. This week, I introduce Casey Barnes to my playlist. The Gold Coast artist has been nominated for the 2020 ARIA Country Album of The Year – and his latest single Come Turn Me On is another proof of the great quality of the genre at Down Under.

  • Make a Life, Not a Living by Brett Kissel

The last time I introduced Brett Kissel and Christina Taylor to the playlist, they did I’m Not Him, I’m Not Her together – now it happens that they do individual songs. Make a Life, Not a Living is the lovely new single by the Canadian.

And removed:

  • Bucket List by Mitchell Tenpenny
  • The Sunset by Colby Keeling
  • Up To Something Country by Jordan Rowe
  • Caviar and Bars by Harper Grae
  • Better Than You’re Used To by Tyler Rich

Country Music Playlist Update Log (1st March 2021)

Twelve album and EP reviews the last last week – what a set of great recordings. Thus, it has been really tough to pick candidates for the two playlists – I overall had about 45 candidates in my final list. Tough to still maintain Flyctory.com as a travel blog as well during these intense times – and next weekend will have some interesting releases again!

  • Different by Hayden Joseph

Hayden Joseph is Different – at least this is the title track of his album. I really loved to listen to his tunes. No doubt that I would pick one of his songs for the playlist.

  • She Takes Me Home by The Cumberland River Project feat. Ron Wallace

Music made in Germany – Frank and his The Cumberland River Project releases another great song. Top class country music can be German – enjoy!

  • Getting Closer by Kaylee Bell

Loved to listen to songs from Kaylee Bell this weekend – even though The Red EP is in fact “just” a collection of previously released songs. I finally went for Getting Closer, a title song of a previously released EP.

  • That’s How You Know You’re Livin’ by Adam Warner

Powerful country music – I just had to present his album Big Storm to you. That’s How You Know You’re Livin’ was one of my favorite songs of the album.

  • When You Wake Up by Two Story Road

I had Two Story Road in this playlist already once, some one year ago. This Friday, they released a really powerful and catching single, When You Wake Up. Time to nominate the duo (who are husband and wife, by the way) again.

And removed:

  • Hey Cowboy by Van de Forst
  • Turn Up by Easton Corbin
  • Don’t Even Say Bye by Cole Barnhill
  • American Dream by Willie Jones
  • Heart on Fire by Eric Church

Country Music Playlist Update Log (22nd February 2021)

Second week on which I will update this playlist on a Monday morning. There were a lot of interesting and strong releases this week, so that finally only one new single made it to the list of five new songs.

  • Flatline by Carolyn Miller

I simply love Carolyn Miller and her songs. With her new one, Flatline, the New York lady presents a very powerful track. Hope you enjoy to listen as much as I do.

  • 29 by Carly Pearce

The EP 29 by Carly Pearce is such an intimate an personal collection of seven songs. I definitely do have a crush for Carly and her music – but the title track 29 is even the most lovely tune I heard of her so far.

  • Straight Up Sideways by Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson, the Lousiana powerhouse, presented her album Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ this week. She is doing special music, special sounds. Straight Up Sideways is my favorite tune of her album.

  • Here’s a Winner by Jack McBannon

Really great music by Thorsten Wiler from Germany – that’s at least the civil name of Jack McBannon. His album True Stories illustrates that there is great country rock in Europe. Here’s a Winner is my selection for the playlist.

  • The Longer I Lay Here by Adam Hambrick feat. Jillian Jacqueline

Adam Hambrick did a really nice EP with The FlipsidesMy favorite track out of six is this one, a beautiful collaboration with Jillian Jacqueline. I just had to select it for you.

And removed:

  • Tequila Told me To by Mira Goto
  • The Man I Am Today by Dylan Wolfe
  • Ready, Set, Don’t Go by Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus
  • Slow Like Smoke by Jared Blake

Country Music Playlist Update Log (15th February 2021)

I am trying out something new and update the Country Music Playlist on Mondays now for a trial period in order to update my New Country Songs playlist Sundays. Let’s see if tht works out better. The week had a couple of interesting releases – even though I majorly featured non-country music. Weird days in Cologne – it would have been carnival now without Covid-19. No travelling possible.

  • Leave The Night Burning by Rachel Lipsky

I wanted to introduce music by Rachel Lipsky to the playlist since weeks. Now, her Leave The Night Burning finally makes it to the playlist. Very interesting artist.

  • Paradise by Haley Mae Campbell

Haley Mae Campbell’s EP Growing Up is indeed a very interesting release. I definitely felt that she should be part of this selection of songs. I finally went for Paradise, one of my favorites by her.

  • Turn This Night Into by Tobacco Rd Band

No doubt, the best country / Southern / Americana I listened to this week was the new album by Tobacco Rd Band, Worth Fighting For. The hardest part was thus to select the right song for the playlist. Hope you agree to my choice.

  • Better Than You’re Used To by Tyler Rich

From the vast number of new single releases I scanned, I finally went for Better Than You’re Used To by Tyler Rich this week. Very straight and powerful music.

  • A Guy With A Girl by Blake Shelton

Luke is in my playlist, Dierks is there, too. So I felt that Blake should have a comeback to my playlist as well. Some more classic tunes introduced this week. A Guy With A Girl is one of my Blake Shelton favorites.

And removed:

  • Amazed by Lonestar
  • Honey by Russell Dickerson
  • Whatever You Do by Halle Kearns
  • This Year Sucks by Twinnie
  • Touchdown Town by Aaron Watson

Country Music Playlist Update Log (7th February 2021)

I really had a lot of struggle when I selected the songs for this playlist and the New Country Songs Playlists. I had close to 40 candidates before I cut down my selection. Thus, I definitely recommend to dare a listen to these five songs as well as to the additions I will do on Tuesday. I also decided to remove make you by Lindsay Ell this week. An amazing song, the song which spent the second-longest period in this playlist. Another lady, Van de Forst with her Hey Cowboy is now on top of the playlist for the longest running active selection of the playlist.

  • Lost But Found by Ann Doka

I had a lovely chat in my Spotlight interview section with the German artist Ann Doka at the beginning of the week. The friendly country pop singer just released her new single Fancy Boots alongside Meg Pfeiffer. As the song is maybe a bit too pop-ish, I went for her 2018 Lost But Found – an amazing song, great listen.

  • Heart Shut by Alex Hall feat. Tenille Townes

Alex Hall released his EP Six Strings on Friday – six songs in collaboration with six different top artists of the genre. I could have taken any of them – but I finally went for an emotional track. Heart Shut with Tenille Townes is simply a beauty.

  • Country Does by Luke Bryan

Nowadays, you can already bet on major Nashville country acts releasing a deluxe version of their album a couple of months after the original release. So does Luke Bryan. His Born Here, Live Here, Die Here has been released about half a year ago – now comes the extended version. Country Does is one of the additional songs – and it is indeed a good one.

  • No Shade by Brooke Eden

As said above, there were so many good songs this week – some of them performed by big names like LANCO, Eric Church or Dan + Shay – or Flyctory.com favorites like Kaylee Rose or Julia Cole. The more, I feel, it states that No Shade finally grabbed this spot that this song is really special. I just felt I had to share it with you.

  • Should’ve Known Better by Carly Pearce

A new one by Carly! I just love Carly Pearce – and just cannot wait two weeks until she is releasing her new EP 29 (on 19th Feb 2021). Here is the promotional appetizer, Should’ve Known Better. Great song

And removed:

  • make you by Lindsay Ell
  • Look At Me Now by Matt Stell
  • Break Your Heart by Nikita Skogen
  • Jessie by Kerri Watt
  • Undivided by Tim McGraw & Tyler Hubbard

Country Music Playlist Update Log (31st January 2021)

Wow, this week has really been packed with music. I did not publish any travel content this week, majorly due to all the previews and two Wednesday releases. Thus, it was a tough challenge to limit my selection of tracks to five songs – therefore, I am quite sure that they are all great ones!

  • Heart On Fire by Eric Church

Eric Church fans already took off the week between the 16th and 23rd April 2021. Their idol will release three albums in a row, which will be having the name Heart& and Soul. Already a strong candidate for the country music happening of the year – and as “The Chief” is already publishing a bunch of singles, we are looking forward to it even more.

  • Getaway by Brian John Harwood

I am really glad that the Spotlight interview section is getting more contents in the first weeks of 2021. On Monday, I published an interview with the friendly Brian John Harwood. His latest single is Getaway – thus, I felt it is time to share it with you in my major playlist as well.

  • This Is The Night by Jake Hoot

Jake Hoot’s Love Out Of Time EP was a real treat to review. For the the playlist, I decided to go for the first track of the album, This Is The Night – and spread some party vibes over this playlist.

  • The Match by Lucero

I have been gifted to review a lot of great music this week. Lucero’s When You Found Me was on of the publications, which definitely deserved the Top Pick! award. Out of the comparably wide range of songs, I went for a country rock / Southern rock track, The Match.

  • Heartbreak Tonight by Daniel Holmes

Last, but not least: Daniel Holmes. I really struggle to tell you more about this Texas artist, but his short Dead End Town album was definitely a lot of fun to review.

And removed:

  • Freedom To Me by Bret Mullins
  • Wish You Would’ve Cheated by Lexie Hayden
  • Things by Kaylee Rose
  • Replaceable by Tanner Sparks
  • Better Love Me by Hannah Kay

Country Music Playlist Update Log (24th January 2021)

The pandemic is getting worse and worse – chances to give you some brand new travel contents are decreasing more and more (but my backlog is quite long). This week I passed the number of 250 posting being read by 1,000 or more people. By the way, I am sorry for issues with the website on Friday. Capacity issues partially blocked the access to Flyctory.com completely. On the music side, there was a lot of good stuff as well – so that I really had struggle to find the right five new ones for my playlist update.

  • Falling by Chelsea Berman

Chelsea Berman was an easy nomination for the playlist. Her new EP Can You Just Not is a real treat. The young Australian lady again showed me that I too rarely have a look to Down Under when it comes to country music. The title track is an amazing one – but for the playlist I went for Falling.

  • Song Of The Summer by Tebey

Tebey’s new album The Good Ones surprised me. I did not expect any new stuff by the Canadian – and his social media has also not been too active about that release. Song Of The Summer might not fit the right season for a January release – but the song is just spreading positive vibrations – I guess you need them as much as I do.

  • American Dream by Willie Jones

Willie Jones released an amazing debut album, Right Now, this week. The incredibly friendly country-fusion artist however also released a single from this album as well – American Dream is an amazing and intimate song about racism in the USA – and still loving to live in the country. Great song.

  • I Loved You Tough by Jimmy Weber

I could not find out too much about Jimmy Weber – apart from that he is a former solider of the US Army. In roughly twenty years of music releases, he published his third album, Black & Blue Heart, this Friday – and this one is a real blast! I Love You Tough is one of the best country ballads I ever listened to.

  • Caviar and Bars by Harper Grae

There are some amazing new songs on the singles side as well – but finally I just had to go for the powerful Caviar and Bars by Harper Grae. A song which simply caught me. What a great voice from Alabama.

And removed:

  • Wonderful by Shannon Noll
  • Girls Like That by Diamond Dixie
  • Hotel Floor by Cottonwood Crows
  • Old Gin by Jennifer K Austin
  • Small Towns by Donny Lee

Country Music Playlist Update Log (17th January 2021)

I had a quite intense week at work, so that it was really tough for me to keep Flyctory.com running in an appropriate manner. Last Friday had quite a lot of interesting music then – on the album side as well as on the singles. Two album reviews placed their song into my playlist – and there are three interesting new singles as well. Hope you enjoy – stay safe!

  • Jessi by Kerri Watt

Always glad to run into European country music – and Scotland’s Kerri Watts’s new album Neptune’s Daughter has really been a nice listen. I went for Jessi as a song for the playlist, which I just felt to be more appropriate for this playlist than over songs I really enjoyed to listen to.

  • Single Problem by Petric

I just know the Canadian country trio Petric since a very short time. Kids was the song I listened to from them first – and it is also one of the best tracks of their debut album, Flashbacks. For the playlist, I went for Single Problem, which is not my absolute favorite for the album, but just the best fit for the playlist.

  • Undivided by Tim McGraw & Tyler Hubbard

I have been very disappointed of Nashville during the last two weeks. There was just a very rare share of the artists, who gave their clear opinion on the raid on the Washington Capital.. I am not sure if that is the right way to treat these things, especially for the international reputation of the genre. I honor artists for being straight in these situation. My dear friend Lauren Jenkins did so – Tim McGraw did so as well – and released this song with Tyler Hubbard.

  • Up To Something Country by Jordan Rowe

I always have the option to select brand-new tracks to the playlist – or go for some classics. This week, it has been an easy choice, as there were so many good new songs – selecting the right ones (out of a list of some 35 pre-selected songs, which partially either went into this playlist or the New Country Hits one) was a tough task. Jordan Rowe got one of the spots – Up To Something Country is just a great one!

  • Don’t Even Say Bye by Cole Barnhill

Blake Shelton with his new song Minimum Wage felt to be the safe nomination on this fifth spot – but I just loved Cole Barnhill’s Don’t Even Say Bye more. Great country rock track.

And removed:

  • Where Cowboys Ride by Sarah Darling
  • Devil Always Made Me Think by Chris Stapleton
  • Two Lane Time Machine by Clayton Smalley
  • Cope by Cody Weaver
  • Leave The Radio On by Jake Morrell

Country Music Playlist Update Log (10th January 2021)

The music industry is more and more coming back from the holiday break. I had five reviews this weekend, the next ones are already quite packed. This weekend, there was quite an interesting mix. Bad luck Barry Gibb’s new album did not make into the playlist – but the songs were either not enough country-alike or simply too bad. Still, five very interesting tracks which join my playlist and push the last Christmas tracks out of the playlist.

  • Nobody Somebody by Gary Quinn

A new one from Gary Quinn. Great to hear some new tunes by the British country music artist. Nobody Somebody is indeed a lovely one. It is also a quite international: the song has been written in Nashville and produced in Sweden. Hope we can welcome Gary again soon on British or German stages.

  • Touchdown Town by Aaron Watson

Aaron Watson’s new album American Soul is touching quite a bunch of classic country topics. Thus, I went for the most American thing of all: American Football. Hope you like this one.

  • The Sunset by Colby Keeling

I was not too fond about the variety in Colby Keeling’s Catch Me If You Can EP – but there are definitely some really good songs on the EP. My favorite is the sixth song, The Sunset.

  • All She Wants by Whitney Duncan

Whitney Duncan is another artist, who made it into Flyctory.com coverage for the first time this week. Her EP Heartbreaker is having a really nice and happy sound – my favorite song out of the five released is All She Wants.

  • Slow Like Smoke by Jared Blake

Jared Blake was a contestant in the very first season of The Voice, being a part of Blake Shelton’s team. I liked the dark sound of his new single Slow Like Smoke and felt this might be a nice touch to my list of forty country songs.

And removed:

  • Jingle My Bells by Cory Marks
  • American Dreamin’ by Christina Taylor
  • Sober as a Drunk by Kameron Marlowe
  • Sober Me by Tristan Cole & Elise
  • Christmas Spirits by Jake Owen

Country Music Playlist Update Log (3rd January 2021)

Happy New Year everybody! While I am expecting a lot of interesting new releases the next week, this weekend is still a rather slow start into 2021. There were at least two releases I reviewed this weekend – one very interesting country artist included. Of course, there is also time to slowly remove the seasonal tracks and put in some country classics to the playlist.

  • Replaceable by Tanner Sparks

Tanner Sparks’ Living A Nightmare album is not at all a musical nightmare. Replaceable was my favorite track reviewing the album, which is featuring a lot of traditional country music tunes.

  • Bucket List by Mitchell Tenpenny

There have been a couple of very interesting new song releases this week. My favorite one is the Bucket List by Mitchell Tenpenny. Enjoy!

  • Better Love Me by Hannah Kay

Hannah Kay is an artist, who earned a first steps on the lame claim to fame on The Voice. Her new song, Better Love Me, is a great listen – enjoy!

  • Ready, Set, Don’t Go by Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus

While Miley Cyrus is leaving the playlist alongside her godmather Dolly Parton, I felt to add her with Ready, Set, Don’t Go, which she recorded alongside her father Billy Ray in 2007 already.

  • I Hold On by Dierks Bentley

Another classic track I felt to add to the playlists: it’s been quite a while since I had Dierks Bentley in my selection of 40 tracks. I Hold On is one of his most successful ones.

And removed:

  • What Do I Do Now? by Brenna Bone
  • Feeling Like Christmas by Olivia Lane
  • God Made Me Right by The Highway Women
  • Christmas Is by Dolly Parton feat. Miley Cyrus
  • O Holy Night by Jillian Cardarelli
