Flyctory.com Pros

  • Fun, versatile album
  • Characteristic style between Medieval folk and rock

So far, I have featured the German band Versengold majorly in my Songs of the WeekEingenordet reflects the first time the sextet is getting a major focus on my blog. The tenth album overall has been released on 9th January 2026.

Versengold – About The Artists

Versengold is a German band, which is doing Medieval folk rock. They have been founded by singer Hoyer in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, close to Bremen, in 2003. He is the only remaining original artist of the band, which started as a hobby project. Nowadays, the other band members are Alexander Wilm (violin, nyckelharpa, conzertina), Florian Janosk (violin, mandolin), Daniel Gregory (guitar, bouzouki, mandolin), Sean Lang (drums, piano) and Eike Otten (bass). They self-released their first two albums, Hoerensagen (2005) and Allgebraeu (2006). With their fifth album, Zeitlos (2015), Versengold made it to the German charts the first time. Since then, any Versengold album peaked at least fourth in the German album charts. Their biggest chart success was Was kost die Welt (2022), which lead the German charts. It was followed by the most recent album, Lautes Gedenken (2023). Finally, the album peaked second in Germany.

Versengold – Eingenordet – Track by Track

The thirteen song album lasts 44 minutes.

1. Der Tag mag kommen

Der Tag mag kommen – “The Day May Come” – is the opener of Versengold’s 2026 album. The song is a great opener to Eingenordet – their Medieval music signature with party rock elements is simply a catching blend. The day may come when Versengold needs to stop the project – doch dieser Tag, er ist noch fern (“but this day, it is still far away”). If they open their 2026 tour with this song as well, a good mood from the very first second is almost guaranteed.

2. Klabauterfrau

Four of the next five songs have been released before the album – Klabauterfrau is a the first of these. The song is a nice, ironic track with a love story as well as shanty vibes. The song is about a “ship’s kobold lady”. You dance, smile and enjoy life while listening to the special vibes of this track.

3. Falscher Leuchtturm (feat. Madsen)

If there wasn’t Jenn Bostic’s Easy To Love (which you finally voted to the community Song of the Year based on my post…) the same week, this track might likely have lead the Songs of the Week as of 22nd August 2025. The Northern German band Madsen adds a nice additional rock and melodic, but also melancholic and thoughtful touch to this song. A great sing along and a song, which stays in your mind.

4. Eingenordet

Together with the album, the title track Eingenordet has been released as a single. The stomping beat of the song leads you into the song. Jetzt wirst Du eingenordet, ganz egal woher Du kommst – “now you will become Northerned (which also means streamlined or brought into line in German…), no matter where you come from”. An open-minded song embracing the Versengold community. Hier ist jeder willkommen, der keinen Schiss vor Freiheit hat – “Here, everybody is welcome, who is not afraid of freedom”. I definitely accept this invitation after listening to the first four tracks.

5. Dans Op De Deel

While Versengold typically sings in standard German, this one partially uses Low German as well. This even emphasizes the Northern German style of the band. If you can’t party to this song (which even has some country music vibes), it will be hard to make you move at all!

6. Krug voll Mondenschein

The last one of the already released tracks is Krug voll Mondschein (the “Jug full of Moonshine”). After all the rock, beat and party vibes, this song feels like a lonely cruise or campfire music on a lonely island. Versengold does manage to impress with slower and more quiet settings as well.

7. Die halbe Welt

After this more intimate and emotional episode, there rhythm and speed of Eingenordet increases again with the seventh track. Despite the title is Die halbe Welt (“Half of the World”), the key line of the chorus feels being Darauf heb’ ich heut mein Bier (“On that, I am raising my beer”). A mixture of maritime romantics and a die-hard drinking song. Versengold manages to keep the balance and even adds a flavor of demanding tolerance and community into the song.

8. Ein neuer Morgen

After all the partying and drinking, Ein neuer Morgen (“A new morning”) does not sound like the best experience. In fact, the first stanzas claims Schmeiß den Wecker an die Wand (“Slam the alarm clock on the wall”). A slower track in the context of the album, which is having a good melody. It adds a nice, alternative style to the album, even though other tracks might be more catching.

9. Theaterliebe

The ninth track is named “Theater Love”. The song is more a love story than about loving theater. A nice song with a good flow and shanty-pop vibes. Again, Versengold offers sufficient opportunity to sing with the band.

10. Klopapier

Don’t you agree that there are too few songs named “Toilet Paper” in the history of music? Versengold reduces the gap with this song. However, it is not the most charming track of the album. Ich hab ein Klopapier, auf dem Dein Name steht – “I have a toilet paper with your name on”. A hilarious way to react on hate and excessive criticism.

11. Die Gonger kommen

A more dramatic, Medieval-style song is Die Gonger kommen. The track adds a new flavor to Eingenordet with its impressing sound. Great composition.

12. Erde

“You and I are part of the song sung by Mother Earth” are the first lines of the twelfth song of the album. The track has a rather pop-ish, especially at the beginning of the song. Later, the track about the circle of life rather leans towards the typical sound of this record. Nice.

13. Zwei Raben

The chucker-out of my first album review in 2026 is Zwei Raben (“Two Ravens”). The song comes with the typical instruments of the bands, but is rather a ballad. Thus, it feels like a beautiful, emotional fade-out and farewell from all the energy Eingenordet had in stock.

Versengold – Eingenordet – Track by Track

Wow, that’s a good way to kick-off my album reviews in 2026. Eingenordet has a lot of power, fun – and the characteristic signature of Versengold. The album is definitely a hot candidate to continue the success of the band, in the German charts as well as on their upcoming tour. Thumbs up for the German band!

Versengold – Eingenordet Tour 2026

The German Medieval folk rock band present their new album Eingenordet on tour from early March 2026. The support act is another fine band of the genre, Fiddler’s Green.
