Looking Forward To 2025 – My Highlights of The Next Year

2024 is coming to an end, and my series of year-end reviews are already in the making. I felt to do another format. I am looking forward to some events happening next year – why not sharing them with you and make you be curious about it as well. Hope you like this blog posting, which is organized month by month. Here is my preview of what I at least plan towards. Here is my preview to 2025.

January 2025 – A Lot of Trips and Floorball

Since December 2024, I am freed from my current work. This allows me doing some traveling in the first months of 2025, before I am starting in a new position. January will include a mileage run with 12 flights in four days to Krakow and Malaga, before I will head to Italy to cover parts of the Women WFC Qualification there. Look forward to that one. I also hope to install some structural changes around the website… Not sure if I will finally make it…

February 2025 – Hockey Home Town Time

The highlight of February 2025 will definitely be my trip to Pittsburgh. My beloved Pittsburgh Penguins play three matches during the Cologne carnival season at home ice. In addition, I will see the second farm team of the Penguins’ organization, the Wheeling Nailors. After I have visited the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before, I will have watched all key Penguins teams after the trips. However, February will also feature some concert highlights, including Jenn Bostic’s coming back to the Green Note in London (here is my report of her 2024 show there).

March 2025 – Country Music Time

March is Country To Country time – and the festival is back in Berlin at a full three-day duration, on top of the opening Bluebird Cafe show on Thursday. This will be a time full of work, but also full of meeting the community again. I was also about to plan a trip to London, but I am hoping for another very interesting photo trip the week thereafter. After that, Rock of Ages will be in Cologne. I will attend all shows of my favorite musical in my home town again – however, there won’t be too many other legs this year, also because the tour is rather short.

April 2025 – A New Personal Challenge Ahead

If there are no health reasons or other objections, I will start in a new position in a new company in April 2025. Thus, I will rather play it slow that month. I will use the Easter weekend for a trip to London. I also envisage SM-Finalen in Avicii Arena, but that will be all in regards of travel. There might be some concerts happening as well, but I will decide on that in a rather short-term time frame.

May 2025 – Rock of Ages II

May will be rather relaxed, regarding my time planning so far. One highlight will be some more Rock of Ages shows for me in Duisburg. So far, they are the only German shows of the musical I planned. I am also looking forward to my first trip to Istanbul – I so far just had some transfers through the Turkish airport.

June 2025 – CMA Fest

My flight destination in June 2025 is Evansville. The airport in Kentucky gave me much cheaper flight options than flying to Nashville directly. After I had to skip CMA Fest 2022 due to a Covid infection, I hope to cover the biggest country music party in summer 2025. Hope that this dream is finally coming true – otherwise, I will do some road tripping in the region, very likely. Just a week after I come back from Music City, there will be another really fine music trip: I will head to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, “just” two shows for me on the 2025 Weird Al Yankovic tour for me this year.

July 2025 – A Special Concert in Vienna

Flycff

Of course, my personal travel plans for the second half of 2025 get thinner and thinner, also as I will still be in probation time in my new job. One date which is fixed in my calendar for July, though, is the Seiler & Speer Open Air in Vienna, which is coming with some really fine support acts. I will get the confirmation for that trip not before April 2025, but I really hope to be able to bring that fine stadium open air to you.

August 2025 – Consolidating Flyctory.com

No plans for Flyctory.com or personal travels for August 2025 yet. I guess there will be some time to consolidate Flyctory.com and to adjust the website for future needs. August is typically also the month in which I will be able to see if an NHL trip in the 2025/26 season will be possible. Overall, this is more and more challenging.

September 2025 – Maybe some more Weird Al?

I am still hoping to hop over to the States and add some more Weird Al Yankovic tour dates. His North American tour is coming to an end in September, some dates are still added. Let’s see if there is a fortunate weekend trip for me finally. Apart from that, there are no other plans for me for September 2025 yet. I also hope being active in athletics and outdoor sports in summer.

October 2025 – Probation Time Over

Let’s be optimistic – in October 2025, I should be out of probation time and thus also a bit more flexible in regards of giving my blog a stronger role in my life balance. Maybe, this leads to some weekend trips, especially as the floorball season will be kicking off as well. Fingers crossed!

November 2025 – Travel Season?

November is typically a good season for traveling. However, the public holidays around that time in 2025 are rather unfortunate, the key one is on the weekend (Saturday) and they are not moved in that case in Germany. So, let’s see.

December 2025 – Floorball and More?

Depending on how the February 2025 Qualifications are finally ending and how the groups are set up, I would love to be back at a senior World Floorball Championship in December 2025. The ladies are playing in Brno and Ostrava in Czechia. Let’s see what is possible. Furthermore, I will likely take a trip over Christmas with my wife, as our travel options for the other parts of the year are rather limited.  Definitely time for all the year-end 2025 reviews on the blog as well.
