I typically have every second Friday free off work. These days allow me to dig deeper into Friday country music releases, for which I haven’t received a promo beforehand. On 27th March 2026, I ran into the debut album of Hank Weaver, Me and My Blues. I felt it is worth having a deeper listen.

Hank Weaver – About the Artist

Hank Weaver is a country music artist from Texas. Originally from Bell North of Dallas, the singer-songwriter is part of the San Marcos music scene. In 2022, he released his debut single Take It Slow. His only major release so far is the EP The Road That Ends up Wrong.

Hank Weaver – Me and My Blues – Track by Track

The nine track album lasts 35 minutes.

1. Beautiful Mind

Hank Weaver’s debut album kicks off with Beautiful Mind. A nice song with a rather traditional style, without feeling outdated. The melody line reminds of Americana rock artists like Tom Petty. A really good first step into his 2026 record.

2. Give Back the Key to My Heart (feat. Ashton Naylor)

For Give Back the Key to My Heart, Weaver teamed with with Ashton Naylor, another San Marcos singer-songwriter. The song is slower than the opener and comes with a nice sway. Moving to the melody of the song is almost guaranteed. The song is very straight, coming with almost stereotypical elements of the genre. It’s simply fun and easy listening to it.

3. Everybody

With Everybody, the album presents some more sad and melancholic vibes. There is a nice touch of blues, just in line with the title of the record. A laid back track, which is built around a really nice chorus.

4. Same to Me

Three songs of Me and My Blues have been released before the album. The first one in here is Same To Me. It is a very characteristic one for the album. It comes with a calm, unagitated style. The focus is on the vocals and the story, leading to a nice listen.

5. Next Time Around

After this more sedate song, Next Time Around is again more rhythmic and groovy. If you like rather classic country music sounds, this song will definitely make you smile. Not a top class one, but it is simply enjoyable listening to it.

6. Good for Gettin’ old

Most of the songs on Me and My Blues exceed the typical mainstream song duration and roughly last four minutes. Good for Gettin’ old, though, just misses the three minute mark. A very stripped down arrangement, majorly focusing on the guitar, some rhythmic elements and the vocals. The more, you enjoy listening to the tunes by Hank Weaver. Nice one.

7. Spark

Spark has been Hank’s only single release in 2026 so far, shared on 6th March 2026. The melody is clearly country music, but the repetitive, slow style definitely rather reminds of blues songs. Thus, the seventh song comes with a strong character making it one of the core tracks of this record.

8. Me and My Blues

The title track Me and My Blues is the most rocking song of the album. You will enjoy the energy of the track while listening, indeed.

9. Lonely Is My Only Friend Tonight

Somehow Me and My Blues closes how it started. The closing track Lonely Is My Only Friend Tonight has been the first single of the album. Hank Weaver shared it in August 2025 already. The song indeed combines blues and country elements very nicely again. It’s also the the longest song of the album, so that you have a prolonged farewell from Hank and his music.

Hank Weaver’s got a nice, rather traditional style. I like the combination of blues and country music elements, which overall turn Me and My Blues into a really nice listen. The album is not posh, but definitely warms the country music heart in you.
