Swiss Cup Finals – Women – Skorpion Emmental Zollbrück – Zug United 5-6 (1-3, 2-3 2-0)

After the two Small Field Cup Finals, it was time to prepare Pilatus Arena in Kriens for the main events. On that 21st February 2026, the ladies followed the traditional schedule and competed for the title at the Swiss Floorball Cup Finals. At their Mobiliar Cupfinals, Zug United was likely in a favorite position. However, the other L-UPL team, Skorpion Emmental Zollbrück, definitely was not in a David vs. Goliath position as well. Here is my report about what happened in the match. With Aline Marti and Noora Holle, both teams featured German National Team players, so that the was for certain another German cup winner.

This posting comes with a section of 597 major size pictures in the sports galleries. Due to health issues, there are just brief match facts and not a full match report.

Skorpion Emmental Zollbrück – Zug United – Match Facts

Despite Isabelle Gerig could not play due to injury, you could see Zug United in the position of the favorite team. And also the first two periods of the match went in line with that. Skorpion converted some nice opportunities, but Zug, driven by their three goal player Denisa Ratajova simply felt more efficient. When when Emmental-Zollbrück gave them a challenge, like Janine Salzmann’s two goals in the second period – Zug found the answer. Thus, the score after 40 minutes was 6-3 in favor of Unite. Hopes were limited that there was a chance for a comeback.

However, the opportunity came early in the final period. Zug did not continue their very solid and concentrated game after being back from the locker rooms. Emmental-Zollbrück made use of it. In the first 72 seconds of the third period, there were two goals for them (Salzmann, Lea Hanimann). Thus, there were mor than 18 minutes left to at least tie the score and force the overtime. Especially early in that period, there felt being a strong chance for that upset. However, Zug United could recover. In some situations, they felt being vulnerable in defense, but finally, the ball did not pass the line. The crowds loved the game and cheered for their favorite until the buzzer.
