SSF Dragons Bonn II – ETV PiranHHas Hamburg II 6-7 SD (2-0, 4-4, 0-2, x-1)

Three times SSF Bonn vs. ETV Hamburg on one day – the Dragons had a very special match day towards the end of the German 2024/25 season. The first match on 15th February 2025 at Sportpark Nord featured the 2nd Bundesliga match of the second (men’s) teams of each club. I decided to go for a briefer visit of this floorball match, due to the high workload on that weekend.

SSF Dragons Bonn II – ETV PiranHHas Hamburg II – Match Facts

Bonn had the better start into the match. They took the lead with goals by Niclas Nussbaum (15th) and Immanuel Wicke (18th) in the first period. However, Nussbaum was sent to the penalty bench seconds before the first intermission. Hamburg made use of that, closing up in the second period by Fabian Zähler. Just some a minute later, Christoph Goers tied the score for the guests. While Hamburg felt to get better control of the match, two Bonn goals within 96 seconds moved the momentum towards the hosts. Caspar Gutekunst (34th) and Wicke (36th) gave Bonn a two goal lead again.

However, Goers was even quicker. More or less right from the face-off spot, he brought the score back to 4-3. Just seven seconds later, a flat shot from center position by the same player lead to a tied score again. The match was not a really good second Bundesliga match in this part of the game. Too many mistakes lead to goals. Wicke gave his team the lead again in the 37th minute. When his teammate Levin Leyhe was on the sin bin short before the second intermission, Juri Spitz brought back the two goal lead for Bonn by a short-hander, 16 seconds before the second buzzer.

Hamburg was not too shocked about that. It took Fabian Zähler 46 seconds in the third period to close up to 6-5. Some two minutes later, Goers shot the goal into the net. However, the goal was not at its position, so that the referee declined the goal. Goers was still on the match report, but for protesting. The 54th minute goal by Namgyal Vogl tied the score again, so that the match went into overtime. In the decider, Fabian Zähler’s third goal of the match after some two minutes lead to the decision.
