Country Music Playlist Update Log (26th December 2022)

For the last week of the year, I decided to reduce my coverage a bit, also rather aiming for one new post per day instead of the normal two ones. In addition, there is not too much new music, so I went for a very different way of nominating five tracks for my playlist this time. When Spotify is sending your top songs, top artists and so on at early December, they also sent me some “Songs I missed”. Some of them, I did not miss at all – but some of them should have really been in my focus more. Thus, they get some special attention, right here on Boxing Day:

• Party Mode by Dustin Lynch

Dustin Lynch released this track in February 2022. A good and catchy listen, which feels much more like a good one for a summer night party than the actual release date suggests. And.. the music video includes an airplane. Hard to say why I missed this one.

• Hope It’s Hot Out by Kyle Clark

Kyle Clark released this song end of May 2022. I feel that I completely missed this song. But it is a really nice song. So I share it with you – better late then never.

• Still Got It by Pierre Alexander

Pierre Alexander released Still Got It – and even though he is rather one of the artists on the rise, the mid-tempo track gained 1.7 million streams on Spotify only. That one is definitely a great song for winter time moments.

• Damn You by Ella Langley

After Ella Langley released her 11.7 million Spotify stream song If You Have To in November 2021, this one was the following release in April 2022. It was streamed six million times – but I missed it. Unfortunately, Ella’s two other single releases in 2022, Hey Ma I Made It and Country Boy’s Dream Girl did not perform that well.

• Trouble With A Heartbreak by Jason Aldean

Trouble With A Heartbreak was the key single release of Jason Aldean’s album Georgia. So I guess, you know – and like – the song already.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (19th December 2022)

Wow, it is already the last playlist update before Christmas. I am already working on all my Best of postings towards the end of the year. Even though the list of new songs is rather short already this week, I feel it is a really nice list of five new songs in the Flyctory.com Country Music Playlists.

• Little Miss by Madeline Consoer

I had two country music reviews this weekend. Madeline Consoer’s debut EP Little Miss was one of them. I feel that the former The Voice contestant is a really interesting artist. For the playlist, I chose the rocking title track.

• Christmissing You by Kayley Bishop

On Wednesday, I introduced you to my favorite new Christmas songs in 2022. While most of them are already part of this playlist, this lovely track will be the last holiday addition to the Country Music Playlist. If you long for more, have a listen to my Flyctory.com Country Christmas Playlist 2022.

• For the Best by Rob Wolf

Rob Wolf released his debut single Home in August 2022. This week, the Montana-origin artist had another single release, For the Best. I simply love it – and his gentle voice also is a nice fit for some holiday mood.

• Split a Beer by Adam Warner

One album review I had this week was Adam Warner’s What We’re Known For. The album is a really versatile listen. Split a Beer is to me the emotional highlight of the album.

• Songs We Used To Sing by Ernest

Is there some new trend of Taylor Swift-ism in music industry? Ernest released three singles on the same day this week. Felt a bit like an attempt to have several songs high up in the charts, just as Taylor did. The songs are good, though – and Songs We Used To Sing is my favorite.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (12th December 2022)

I returned from my first-ever trip to Albania – there will be some initial postings very soon. Nonetheless, I – of course – scanned the country music releases and looked for new songs and upgrades to this general playlist. Please note that I was so stressed last week that I missed the 5th December 2022 update of this playlist. I added the songs a few days ago.

• Hits Home by Landon Parker

Landon Parker released a new EP this week. Hits Home is the title track of the six song collection. Very nice listen.

• Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You by Brooks & Dunn

Christmas time is always a good time to give you some classics. Ain’t Nothing’ Bout You is definitely deserving that label.

• Dear You by Poppy Fardell

The more I listened to Back on My Feet by Poppy Fardell, the more I loved it. And the harder it was for me to pick the right song for the playlist. I went for an emotional listen finally.

• Medicine by Sydney Mack

Spotify recently suggested me to listen to this song, which has been released in May 2021. Not a classic, but a cool song with a stomping rhythm. Nice one.

• Primrose Hill by Sarah Darling

New song by Sarah Darling: no Christmas song, no collaboration with the Six-One-Five Collective. Simply her. And simply beautiful.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (5th December 2022)

Three weeks until Boxing Day. As I wrote in my this week’s Songs of the Week edition, you see that the music industry is slowly going for a break. Nonetheless, there are some interesting new releases – and it is always a good time to flush some classics into the playlist.

• Motel On the Moon by Tenille Arts

A new song by Tenille Arts – and the announcement that she will be playing a show in London. Hopefully some dates all over Europe will be added. Such a lovely artist.

• That Song in my Head by Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough has been one of the first country artists I have been listening to. I felt that That Song in my Head is a great match for the Christmas season. Hope you enjoy it as well.

• No Way by Sam + Sam

One album review I had to drop because of capacities was Evolve by Sam+Sam. Some songs sound like traditional country, others blow your head with hard rock sounds. I went for a song in the middle of these extremes.

• Christmas With Aliens by Tyler del Pino feat. Rusty Robot

You just cannot avoid to do country without Country Christmas songs.. There is my 2022 playlist, which features songs like this one. No classic song cover, but a Santa track, which makes me smile.

• I Swear by John Michael Montgomery

Four and a half minutes for warm hugs – and the story of the song is quite interesting as well: while the initial artist, John Michael Montgomery “just” topped the US Country Charts with this song and just peaked in the Top 50 Billboard Singles, the R&B band All-4-One turned it to a global hit. Thus, the song received a Grammy each for the initial (Best Country Song) and the All-4-One (Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group WIth Vocals) in 1995.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (28th November 2022)

Thanksgiving – family time in the US, low season for country music releases. Thus, this week is a good opportunity to flush some classics into the playlist – in addition to the songs which were somehow remarkable to me this week.

• Lady Like by Ingrid Andress

Ingrid Andress announced her European tour dates for 2023 this week (you find them on my tour date overview). Great to have her back in Germany next year – here is a classic.

• A Little Sun by Kevin McGuire

I am not sure if I ever had a song of Kevin McGuire featured in my playlists – but this track by the Scottish boy definitely deserves it.

• Never Left Memphis by Austin Jenckes

I recently saw a German friend visiting an Austin Jenckes show in Nashville. Reminds me of the great tour he had in September 2019, where I featured his Amsterdam show. One of his most popular songs added this week.

• Redneck Country Boys by Alaura Lynne

Alaura Lynne is an uprising country artist from Dallas, Texas. This week she released her sing Redneck Country Boys. Absolutely enjoyed it.

• Dirt On My Boots by Jon Pardi

A big name, a classic song – Jon Pardi is always a good option. Not  a song from bis September 2022 release Mr. Saturday Night, but one of his most popular tracks.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (21st November 2022)

First time I covered two concerts with Flyctory.com on the same weekend. Even though it is likely the last coverage of the year at all, this was really great and fun. I have a couple of business and Flyctory.com-related trips lying ahead of me the next weeks, Christmas calling… And the last weeks of the year, so I started doing my thoughts about all the Best of postings about 2022. Hope you like this Best of the country music week.

• In case you didn’t know by Brett Young

Great to have him in Germany: Brett Young played Cologne on Saturday. Even though the concert did not meet my full expectations, Young definitely deserves to be represented in here, with one of the concert highlights and one of his best songs..

• Never Wanted Nothing More by Dalton & the Sheriffs

The 2022 Country Christmas Playlist is almost exploding – there are so many new songs with a holiday focus each week. This one is definitely one of the cool ones.

• 1980 Dodge Van by Melissa Carper

Ramblin’ Soul by Melissa Carper rather feels like a trip back to the 1960’s. But the concept does work out somehow and she does it in a straight way. Nice listen – here is one of my favorites.

• Get Drunk by Chad Prather

Okay, this one might not be politically correct at its full extent… But Chad Prather did make me smile – and the redneck / country rap genre is not represented too often in here anyway. Take the song with a sense of humor.

• Way Downtown by Billy Strings

Me/And/Dad comes with a nice concept: the Grammy Award winner Billy Strings records songs together with his (step)father. Good listen – and a nice chance to add some bluegrass touch in here.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (14th November 2022)

The first time ever, I am preparing my playlists from Andorra. I fell in love with this country – even though my original motivation has been just to see their airport, which is having scheduled services since about a year. I also fell in love with some of the tracks below – so that I hope you enjoy my selection. Two German artists head my five song addition this time.

• Ich wär dabei by Nik Wallner

Nik Wallner did not release new music this week, but my partner in crime in an amazing Spotlight interview I had with him before his Sound of Nashville show in Cologme. Ich wär dabei (“I would join”) is such a typical country topic song – bad luck that it does not attract even more listeners.

• Leaving on a Jet Plane by Ann Doka

One of Germany’s finest female country voices, Ann Doka, is going for a great song with her new release: Leaving on a Jet Plane is a John Denver original. The song suits her very well, though.

• The Bad Guy by Kaylee Rose

Kaylee Rose grew in my attention over the last months significantly. Unfortunately, she had to face a breakup – but, hey, she is an artist. Finally, this unfortunate event leads to a lot of joy on the listeners.

• She Had Me At Heads Carolina by Cole Swindell feat. Jo Dee Messina

I typically don’t re-introduce songs to the playlist. To me, She Had Me At Heads Carolina was an absolute bummer, the best track of the album Stereotype, when Cole Swindell released it. However, it took him quite a while to release it as a single. And the North American country world loves it. Now he joins forces with the original artist quoted in the song, Jo Dee Messina. Fantastic.

• Honky Tonk Heroes by Amanda Shires feat. Jason Isbell

Another new single release. Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell honor a musician colleague at Live Forever: A Tribute To Billy Joe Shaver. An outstanding compilation, which gave me a really tough time to select the right track.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (7th November 2022)

We are running into November already. The volume of best of albums and deluxe editions is rising, the music industry wants the same thing as any other industry this time – your money. Nonetheless, there are some really nice new releases. I am happy to share five in fact new songs for my playlist with you this time.

• I Still Believe by Russell Dickerson

I would name Russell Dickerson, the third studio album by Russell Dickerson, to be my country music release of the week. Thus, this song clearly deserves to lead my playlist additions this week.

• Holiday Party by Dan + Shay

Yeah, you can’t prevent it. It is Christmas high season. At least in the world of country music. Halloween is done, time to cash in with some good or less good done holiday single releases or albums. This one by Dan + Shay is one of the better ones – some worse ones can be found in my Country Christmas 2022 Playlist as well.

• Suitcase by Vic Allen

I think my heart lives in a suitcase – ain’t that a song I simply have to relate to? And it is a track by the lovely Vic Allen. Beautiful write.

• The Edge by Stephanie Quayle

Another great release this week is On The Edge by Stephanie Quayle. I just went for the somehow title track. Good one.

• Does Your Mother Know by Emily Nenni

Emily Nenni’s album On The Ranch was the first review one I published this Friday. It’s actually a really nice album and deserves the nomination. Here is one of my favorite songs.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (31st October 2022)

October has been quite a busy month for me. Just sending you the last playlist update of the month from New York City, where I have been watching the last stage of the Weird Al Yankovic Tour 2022. Hope for some shows in 2023. On the country music side, there have been some really interesting releases as well. Hope you enjoy my five suggestions this week.

• Road Runner by Lainey Wilson

Do doubt, Lainey Wilson and her album Bell Bottom Country deserved to be represented in this list of five new songs. I went for one of my favorite songs of the album.

• Last Day of Summer by Shania Twain

A new song by Shania Twain and the announcement for a tour in 2023. Unfortunately, there are just UK and Ireland dates so far, no Central Europe. Hope we get to see her as well.

• Devil Woman by Caleb Lee Hutchinson

Songs I’ll Never Play Again – what a great name for the new EP by Caleb Lee Hutchinson. I do play one of the songs, namely Devil Woman – and recommend you to have a deeper listen to the full set of tracks.

• Santa Claus was by Uber Driver by Lee Brice

This week, I opened my Flyctory.com Country Christmas 2022 playlist, which I will regularly update until Santa time. This week, I just had to add this jewel of songwriting to the Christmas playlist – and to my main one as a Christmas teaser. I love it.

• Home Run by Christian Parker

Christian Parker released the album Debutante this weekend. Absolutely worth listening to – here is my favorite song Home Run.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (24th October 2022)

I am quite busy traveling for two or three more weeks, before life gets more relaxed. Christmas songs are more and more approaching, significantly later than it used to be last year. I am happy about that and don’t share any holiday track with you this week:

• Fire by Alex Williams

While the overall most impressive release this week has definitely been the Powerzone by Chez Kane, Alex Williams did it great on the country music side. Fire is my favorite listen of his record Waging Peace.

• Rock and a Hard Place by Bailey Zimmerman

This song is a “left-over” of my recent Florida trip. One of these songs which run in the radio again and again… And if you know US radio rotations, this may mean every 90 minutes to two hours. It’s a good one!

• Driveway by Kenny Foster

Kenny Foster takes us to Somewhere in Middle America this week. He proofs his exceptional qualities, especially in regards of storytelling, in this new album. Driveway is one of my favorites.

• Broken Dishes by Jo Smith

I would have loved to have a deeper listen into the new album Wyoming by Jo Smith. The title track comes with some half a million Spotify streams – I went for this track.

• Cheap Whiskey by Sam Grow

Another nice long-play release which would have definitely deserved a full review is Manchester by Sam Grow. At least, I introduce you to one of my favorite tracks in here.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (17th October 2022)

Due to computer issues – my main computer broke down and some of the Spotify and Amazon Music Stuff is really a pain if you are not used to them. Thus, I won’r polonged on a monitor.. No more Weird Al for you – but some other tracks which I feel are worth listening. As I need to fix computer issues and playlist editing is a mess with the non-Windows app, the playlist will have 45 songs this week.

• Five Foot Nine by Tyler Hubbard

During my tour-chasing trip this week, this song Five Food Nine by Tyler Hubbard was one of the most present ones in Florida country music stations.

• Worst Guy Ever by Callista Clark

There were a lot of positive aspects about Real To Me: The Way I Feel, the debut album by Callista Clark. Unfortunately, too many already released tracks. I still go for my favorite

• High Plains Outlaws by Logan Mize

Logan Mize even goes for more commercial intensity. His new EP Prairie Tapes, Vol. 1 first of all has some really good songs – but there is no new release.

• King of Hearts by Lizzie Cates

I simply loved this song. Somehow, a new style to me – hope you love the this week’s single release King of Hearts as well.

• I Do It as I Like It by Dennis Adamus

Last, but not least, interesting release by the German country singer. I really like his very modern signature.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (10th October 2022)

I am quite active in traveling this month – so that updating the website is a bit more troublesome than I would usually expect. I am wondering quite a lot that there are rather few Christmas songs compared to the mass of tracks last years. Hope you don’t feel like Santa – there is no holiday track in here…

• La Di Da by Avery Anna

Avery Anna’s debut EP Mood Swings was the only country review I had this week. I felt that it would be nice to share the rather happy La Di Da with you.

• Lucille by Michael Paul Lawson

A very interesting new album is Love Songs For Loners by Michael Paul Lawson. I really enjoyed having a quick listen to the eight songs. I went for Lucille as a feature.

• The Coast Is Clear by Adam Sanders

I would have loved to feature Adam Sanders’ new EP 90’s Kid, which he released on Tuesday already. However, I have been just too buzy. Nonetheless, his versions are worth mentioning.

• Achy Breaky Song by Weird Al Yankovic

I am sorry. From Tuesday until Sunday, five Weird Al Yankovic shows lie ahead of me – with a sixth one in New York City at the end of the month. I feel that one of the few country songs by should just be represented in here for a short moment.

• You, Me, And Whiskey by Justin Moore and Priscilla Block

This track is a new release this week – such an amazing duet. Enjoy!

Country Music Playlist Update Log (3rd October 2022)

Another week, another five set list of songs update on Monday. I will be traveling (private and job) a lot during October, so I might struggle a bit to update the website in the typical way. There was quite a lot of new music on the country music side this week – nonetheless, I just picked rather a few songs in here and for the New Country Songs playlist. However, there are some really cool listens in my playlist additions – enjoy!

• Misery Loves Company by Richard Marx

Richard Marx’s new album Songwriter is definitely the release of the week to me – I am quite sure you will see this one in my favorite albums of the year postings in December. A song, which might even make it to the best songs is the country party track Misery Loves Company. Have fun!

• When Will I Be Loved  by Ashley McBryde et al

The most special release of the week was indeed Lindeville – or Ashley McBryde presents: Lindeville, how the album is also called, depending on the source. Hilarious storytelling from a fictional small town which is honoring Dennis Linde. Great album with a lot of great songs.

• One of Us by Matt Stell

One of Us by Matt Stell has been one of the most striking single releases this week. Really nice track – hope you like it as much as I do.

• Sailing To Arizona by Kristian Bush feat. Chris Barron

I just did not have the capacity to have a full listen with review to 52 | New Blue, the new album by Kristian Bush. However, I definitely recommend a listen – this was my favorite one.

• Holy Jeans by Adam Doleac

Another really interesting album release is Barstool Whiskey Wonderland by Adam Doleac. Some really nice songs in there – I went for this track.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (26th September 2022)

Last week was buzier than I expected, also due to the fact that October will have a lot of traveling involved. On the music side, we have quite some interesting new releases. Hope you enjoy my five picks of the week.

• Faded by Nikki Lane

My favorite release of the week was Kelsea Ballerini’s Subject To Change. However, as she is already represented in the playlist with her new single, it is up to Nikki Lane’s new album Denim & Diamonds to represent the reviews of the week in here.

• When It Rains It Pours by Luke Combs

I felt that Semmel Concerts / Sound of Nashville were mad when they book Luke Combs in the large Hamburg Barclays Arena for 2023. I was so wrong – tickets sell really quick. Time to add a Luke Combs track to the playlist.

• Hang Around Town by Colby Keeling

Colby Keeling’s album When It’s Gone just did not make it into my list of reviews – but at least I feature its second track here and recommend a listen.

• Slide by Madeline Merlo

Madeline Merlo was one of the artists I had in focus some years ago. So glad to have some new music from her. Here is the title track of her new EP Slide.

• Waking Up Dreaming by Shania Twain

How could I ignore this one? Shania Twain heads a bit more towards pop, but Waking Up Dreaming is just a great listen.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (19th September 2022)

Still recovering from my surgery and a lot of traveling, so that I really had deep trouble to keep the website updated. While last week had a lot of interesting music postings, especially the concert of Carly Pearce and Sarah Darling, as well as my interview with Lindsay Ell, I could not do as many reviews as I wanted. Here are my five song additions for the Country Music Playlist:

• This Thing by Zoee

This Thing might sound less country and more pop-ish than previous releases by the lovely Australian – but I feel this song is simply a great listen. Congrats!

• Be The Whiskey by Julia Cole

Julia Cole is currently impressing me with an amazing frequency of new songs. Here is the latest addition to her discography.

• Well Enough Alone by Carolyn Miller

Carolyn Miller just had to postpone a New York City show due to illness. Nonetheless, she released a new track, Well Enough Alone. Hope you like it.

• Different Without You by Little Big Town

One album which I just did not make to review is Mr. Sun by Little Big Town. As expected, the country quartet strikes with an amazing vocal performance again. This is one of my favorite ones.

• If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too) by Kelsea Ballerini

I feel that this song does not sound like the typical Kelsea Ballerini songs. I feel it is a very interesting listen – thus I share it with you.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (12th September 2022)

A hand surgery forced me to reduce my coverage this weekend – and it may last some more days until I am really fit again. Thus, I decided to feature four songs of four albums this week, which I would have definitely had a listen to if I was fit to type.

• Worth It by Jessica Lynn

I feel so ashamed that I did not make it to present you Lone Rider by Jessica Lynn. Jessica Lynn is such an amazing artist – and songs like Worth It illustrate that you should have a listen to her album.

• Growing Pains by Breland

The album Cross Country by Breland even receives some limited promotion in Germany. I went for this groovy track – enjoy!

• Glass Houses by Melanie Dyer

There are four new song on the nine-track album Between You & Me by Australian Melanie Dyer. I opted to add the powerful opening track a spot in my playlist.

• Sunshine by Ashleigh Dallas

Country Music Playlist Update Log (5th September 2022)

The Lufthansa pilot strikes denied my plans to travel to Glasgow with my wife this weekend. Quite a lot of stress and trouble. On the country music side, there haven’t been too many interesting releases. Very interesting how seasonal this is. Here are my five weekly additions to my playlist.

• Talk To Time by Tim Hicks

I did not manage to have a full listen into Tim Hicks new album Talk To Time. Sorry for that, it felt like a really good listen. And here is the title track.

• The Last Time by Tenille Townes

A beautiful new single by Tenille Townes. Already jealous to those of you who will see her live on stage in Berlin and Hamburg in October.

• A Special Place by Danielle Bradbery

Danielle teases this song as the beginning of a new era. I don’t feel the revolution, but I definitely feel a good new song.

• Rough Around The Edges by Alexander Ludwig

I completely missed that Alexander Ludwig released a new album last week, Highway 99. What I did not miss, though, is that the Canadian will be coming to Germany at the beginning of November. Look forward to the show in Cologne.

• Good Day by Big City Lights

I felt that adding some positive vibes to the playlist would be a good choice. This new single release by the Big City Lights felt like the perfect option for this.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (29th August 2022)

This week has been a bit of weird regarding the new .releases of country music: there were masses of them, on the long play as well as on the single release side. However, as I was traveling and did not receive that many promos before, I just could not handle them. I finally decide to take four songs from album releases I could not cover in here. The fifth song is just nominated because I feel the music industry is so ridiculous nowadays. Hope you enjoy that setup.

• When I Hear Your Name by A Thousand Horses

The first album I feature in this very special way is Broken Heartland by A Thousand Horses. A really nice set of ten songs. I selected this new track.

• Dr. Phil by Seaforth

Even though I feel that the songs which have already been released are by far the best songs of the eight track release What I Get for Loving You, Dr. Phil is definitely a nice one..

• This Old Town by Kameron Marlowe

I feel that Kameron Marlowe’s new album This Old Town is absolutely worth to have a listen to. The single releases have already been very promising, but I also enjoyed a quick listen of the 16 songs. Here is my favorite

• Mirror Mirror by Mandy McMillan

Mirror Mirror is one of the previously unreleased tracks of Mandy McMillan’s EP Dream Catcher. First time I have her on my playlist. Sounds promising.

• A Smoky Mountain Christmas by Dolly Parton

The US country music scene is releasing Christmas songs extremely early. We are still wearing short clothing and swim in the ocean, when Nashville is releasing the first pieces for our 2022 Holiday soundtrack. This year, nobody but Dolly herself was first in this discipline. I feel it is ridiculous. And I promise: I will remove this song next week again.

I will have quite some busy weeks ahead of me. Due to some Covid-19 shifts of the UK Tour of my favorite musical Rock of Ages, I will soon head to three-times-in-a-row weekenders to the United Kingdom. However, the U.K. is not represented in my main country music playlist additions, but at least a German artist. Hope you enjoy my selection of songs this week.

• If We All Drove Trucky by Royale Lynn

I more and more love the music by Royale Lynn. This one is her new single – ain’t she have a beautiful unique style?

• Dancin’ In The Country by Taylor Hubbard

I unfortunately did not make it to review Taylor Hubbard’s EP, which has been released today. At least, the title track made it to this playlist.

• Hey Hey Hey by Nick Wayne

I had the new song by Hannah Ellis last week, now there is a release by her husband Nick Wayne. Two really nice artists, beautiful couple – and somehow reunited in this set of songs.

• Lesson in Leavin’ by Jo Dee Messina

I had a lot rather classic country music tunes in mind during the last dayss – thus, I felt that introducing a Jo Dee Messina song would be a nice one. Hope you agree.

• Only If by Ann Doka feat. Brooks West

I still haven’t made it to see Ann Doka live on stage, but I was quote amazed of some of the size of gigs she recently had. Maybe not a classic, but also not a really new song in here.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (15th August 2022)

I had a quite busy week at work, so that it really took me some effort to keep the website updated. Glad that this weekend did not have any trips or similar – I will be quite active the next weeks, though. One key reason is that my favorite musical Rock of Ages is about to incept next week – and due to weird Covid-19 and sales-related postponements, I finally end up seeing the show three weekends in a row. My most nerdy posting ever, a trip to Paola in Kansas, has been published today and is related to the musical. But now, here are my five picks to update the playlist:

• You Can’t Ever Tell by Kelsey Waldon

No Regular Dog by the Kentucky artist Kelsey Waldon is a really nice listen. I finally went for this track

• The Secret To This Town by Wade Bowen

Wade Bowen opened by block of reviews with his great album Somewhere Between The Secret and The Truth. Absolutely worth listening – I went for this rocking track to be added to the playlist.

• Country Can by Hannah Ellis

Great single release by the amazing Hannah Ellis. So good to have some new tunes from her.

• Why Do I by Carolyn Miller

Carolyn’s new single is the emotional highlight of this week to me. She is just an amazing artist, who can do these kind of tracks perfectly.

• It Ain’t Love by Zoee

Quite a lot of new music of artists, which I am in closer contact with. Australian Zoee recently moved to Nashville – and now she is in our hearts with this new release, It Ain’t Love.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (8th August 2022)

I had an intense week, traveling Kansas City and Nashville this week. This also made me get into contact with some country artists which I haven’t been aware of yet. Some made it into my playlist this week – but there are also some nice new releases.

• S.O.B. by Brandy Neelly

On the last evening in Nashville, I went to my favorite venue there, the cozy The Listening Room. I have to honestly give in that I did not know any of the names of the four ladies on stage before – but apart from the lovely Lindsay James, I have been especially impressed by leading artist Brandy Neelly. I originally wanted to go for a track named I Know Where You Live, but I could not find it online. This one is very cool as well.

• The Next Man Who Loves Me by Scarlett Egan

The Listening Room, part II: Scarlett Egan is a German artist. I met her in the “TLR” as well – however, she worked there as a waitress. The day thereafter, I had the pleasure to see her on stage. That’s Nashville. I listened to her music and decided that this song definitely deserves a “tipping” by putting her into to my playlist songs.

• My Name is Freedom by Pete Wolf Band

One of my favorite songs on the Crosswalk To Nowhere EP by the Pete Wolf Band. Interesting fun fact: he released this song as his well-known schlager main ego Wolfgang Petry already. I do prefer the even-more country alike English version over the one presented in the Auf das Leben album last year.

• Here for the Girls by Dylan Wolfe

This one is the only “real” new single, which I put into the playlist this time. Dylan Wolfe recorded this powerful tune, Very good one.

• Feel It Rain by Alyssa Scott

The presence of Alyssa Scott is also due to my Nashville stay: I just crawled along the honky-tonks on Broadway and happened to see a set of her. Really enjoyed her on stage. The song is a 2020 single release.

It is always great to follow the development and learning curve of an artist. To me, I Don’t Deserve You is the best song I listened to by Brenna Bone. At least so far. Let’s see if it even gets better next time.

Single release by Dierks Bentley – and it is a great one! How else could it be – it is simply Gold!

• Dead Skunk by Josh Abbott Band

The Josh Abbott Band released a four song EP this week Josh Abbott Band and Friends, Vol. 1. Travelling did not allow me to review so many songs, but I at least I include the opener in here, featuring William Clark Green and Charlie Shaftner

• Knock by Brooke Eden

Choosing You is a great EP by Brooke Eden. Hard to pick the right song for the playlist. I finally went for the opener.

• Bad Medicine by Whiskey Myers

Another great release, another time a hard time to choose the right track: Whiskey Myer’s Tornillo gave me a great listen. I finally decided to share the ninth song of the album with you.

I spent a nice weekend with my wife right at the German–Luxembourg border. Some relaxing – and just a rather limited bit of content you will see in the travel postings of the coming weeks and months. In general, I might reduce the volume of music reviews slights for a few weeks – I simply see that most of you are caring about other stuff currently in my website stats. • My Kinda Fishin’ by Kaylee Rose

Hot Minute is a four track, all new songs EP by Kaylee Rose. Bad luck that it is such a short listen – Kaylee is simply doing very good in this song. I went for the summer party track, Florida style – hope you enjoy it.

• Confetti by Vic Allen

I just love Vic Allen and her music – but Confetti even boosts that. What a beautiful, emotional track by the young British country lady!

• Coming Around by CJ Solar

I saw that in some two weeks, when I am in Nashville, CJ Solar is having his album release party. Might be fun to have a listen to his tunes. His new single, Coming Around, is definitely a promising one.

• Stampede by Brice Long

A lot of new songs in the playlist this week. Stampede by Brice Long is so rocking and full of energy – really a great listen!

• Anyway by Love and Theft

As I wanted to limit the volume of reviews this weekend, this country duo and their new EP Better Off did not make it to my coverage. I picked my favorite song of their release, Anyway.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (18th July 2022)

Germany is getting really warm nowadays – I should have traveled to Iceland (damn, I miss the country…) or so for some refreshment. However, there is not too much major travel this month, the next one will be a trip to Tennessee, Missouri and Kentucky in late July. So far, dealing with country music, where the number of releases feels to decrease a bit as well. Mid of July – when will we run into the first Christmas song to be released? Not this week, at least.

• Nashville, Tegernsee by Nik Wallner

Nik Wallner played at the Truck Grand Prix at the legendary Nürburgring this weekend. And he released this track, Nashville, Tegernsee. Do you like that relocation of Music City?

• Whatever It Takes by Kenny Chesney

I wanted to go for another classic country song and finally felt of this 1994 classic. Hope you enjoy my selection.

• Vegas by Erin Kinsey

Veges by Erin Kinsey is a new single release this week. Nothing more, nothing less – I just felt it should be in here. And I do miss Las Vegas.

• We’re Gonna Get There by More Than Words

Another German release this weekend – and at least the full album title is epic: More Than Words released their album Today (Make Today Be the Best Day of Your Life) – I really liked their songs. My pick for the playlist is We’re Gonna Get There.

• Dead Horses by The Local Honeys

A female country duo telling stories about their Kentucky home: The Local Honeys by the same-named band is a very interesting selection of songs and stories. I went for the Dead Horses in here.

A rather normal week this time. I planned a few 2023 trips, including how to get to the CMA Fest 2023 (I did not find a sensible option yet…) and had a really nice German show of Rock of Ages near Osnabrück. The country music new releases had some interesting songs – this week’s playlist additions only feature new songs or songs taken from new releases.

• Honky Tonk Town by Kimberly Kelly

I’ll Tell You What’s Gonna Happen is a really nice country music listen. I enjoyed having a look at this emerging artist from Texas. I selected the opener of the album.

• Copy, Paste, Repeat by Kenny Foster

Kenny Foster! Another song en route to his new album release. It is almost needless to say that Kenny is delivering another really good listen. Thumbs up!

• Three Chords and a Woman’s Truth by Christie Lamb

Christie Lamb is indeed one of the most exciting artists from Australia to me. This new release is another proof. Hope you enjoy it, too.

• Home by Ellie Benn

During the last weeks, I ran into a couple of country-alike releases by German artists. Some of them were rather below average, but Ellie Benn is doing beautiful songs. Home is the first time I feature her in my playlists.

I just had to add this one. Straight Up by Paula Abdul could be a candidate for the Songs of my Life one day – here, it is interpreted by The Southern Gothic. Great cover.

Not a very special week this time. I originally had planned a trip to Italy, but the current situation at European airports and the high work level I am currently facing made me withdraw from it. There were not too many too thrilling new songs – but these tracks definitely made me smile.

• I’ll Be There For You by Pete Wolf Band

Great news: Pete Wolf aka Wolfgang Petry is releasing a new country / Americana EP. After the great listen 2084, I am already looking forward to Crosswalk to Nowhere, which will be available from 5th August 2022. Here is the first feature single.

• Country Anyway by Kylie Morgan feat. Walker Hayes

I was so happy to listen to the new EP by Kylie Morgen, P.S. Nice songs – I finally went for Country Anyway for this playlist.

• It’s About Time by Jonny Houlihan

Jonny Houlihan gave me a tough time picking the right song from Coffee and Jesus, his this week’s album release. Very good stories and very different songs. I went for this one.

• Slip by Shawn Austin

Shawn Austin released his EP Planes Don’t Wait this week. While I already featured the title track as a single release in December 2021 in here, I now selected Slip.

• USA by Filmore feat. Pitbull

There were rather few new country music releases more or less dealing with Independence Day and how great the USA is. Interesting collaboration of Filmore and Pitbull in here.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (27th June 2022)

Another week going by. I had two short trips to the Ruhrgebiet region this weekend. The travel postings might take a while, while you will very soon run into some floorball updates on Flyctory.com. On the country music side, there have been really quite a lot of interesting releases. Despite Luke Combs’ new one, my personal highlight was a German release – The Cumberland River Project did an amazing job again.

• She Drives Her Own Truck by The Cumberland River Project

My personal favorite listen this weekend, indeed: Frank and his country music project did an amazing second long player. A Smell of Gravy smells like top class country music to me – She Drives Her Own Truck is my favorite.

• Champagne Problems by Peytan Porter

The lovely Peytan Porter released her seven track album/EP on Friday. One of the co-writers of the songs is nobody but Kenny Foster. That’s a good hint that this is a good listen. The release did not manage to get a review slot, but I picked my favorite new song for the playlist.

• New Wore Off by Carolyn Miller

Quite some familiar names and faces at my playlist additions this time. Carolyn Miller released a new single today. I am just in love with anything she is doing. Hope you like New Wore Off as well. 

• Don’t Treat Me Like That by Chris Colter

Country made in Germany, part 2: even though A Smell of Gravy was, of course, the German country release of the week, Chris Colter did not do a bad one at all, too. I liked listening to Nice To Be Back To Be Back Nice and opted for this song.

• Used To Wish I Was by Luke Combs

Finally, this week’s entry just cannot be complete without teasing Growin’ Up by Luke Combs. Very good release. This looking-back-to-teenage-days song was one of my favorite listens.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (20th June 2022)

I have been in Portsmouth in Southern England this weekend. After five cancelled or missed (due to Covid-19) shows in a row, I was happy to be back at my favorite musical and also have my 50th show of Rock of Ages. The week in music, especially in regards of single releases, was rather thin. I had to scan relatively few releases in regards of both, country music and other genres. Nonetheless, country music had some really fine ones (in singles and long(er) play). Thus, my five song additions were a rather difficult choice.

• Where Do I Sign by Brett Eldredge

Brett Eldredge did an amazing job with his this weekend’s release Songs about you. An amazing album with a lot of interesting tracks. While many community members seem to suggest Hideaway as the best track of the album, my favorite is Where Do I Sign.

• Bitchin’ by Royale Lynn

Royale Lynn more and more gets into my focus. I love her straight, honest style. In the very conservative country music scene, she is releasing a song called Bitchin’. Great sound – I definitely have to support her with this playlist presence.

• Man On The Run by Brittany Brodie

Already at the beginning of the week, Brittany Brodie released Man On The Run. A really great one, enjoyed listening to her.

• John Wayne by Rachel LaRen

Running into the EP Cowboys Don’t Change by Rachel LaRen was just a random thing. I really enjoyed the six songs by the Texas artist. John Wayne has been a successful single and is somehow the title track of the EP as well. I picked it for my playlist.

• He’s My Dad by Gary Quinn

Last, but not least: Gary Quinn. He is finally kicking Brett Eldredge this week. Gary’s emotional He’s My Dad is my favorite write this week. He is simply one of the very finest country music creators in the United Kingdom.

I was rather surprised that there were not too many new single releases this week. Nonetheless, some really good EPs and albums as well as singles this week, hope you like them.

• Me & My Old Man by Kyle Daniel

Two great news: Kyle Daniel will return to Germany, supporting Lindsay Ell (see my concert date list) – and there is a great new EP, Following the Rain. The hardest thing: picking the right song out of the great five ones. I finally went for Me & My Old Man.

• Till the Wheels Fall Off by Christina Taylor

A new song by Christina Taylor feels like a mandatory holiday for me and Flyctory.com. This one has been written for her boyfriend (at the time of writing), fiance (currently) and husband (soon). Keep my fingers crossed for her, for both of them – and hope you like the song as I do.

• Sunday Best by Bryce Sainty & Taylor Moss

There were a couple of interesting duets which have been released this week, but the collaboration of Bruce Sainty and Taylor Moss was on the top of my list.

• Hate My Heart by Carrie Underwood

Finally… I struggled so much with previous long play reviews I did of Carrie Underwood. This time, I can definitely say: it is a great one! Denim & Rhinestones is a lovely album – I simply picked my favorite track in here.

• Criminal by Lindsay Ell

I just had my very first indoor concert coverage with professional gear on Sunday evening. One of the next ones will be Lindsay Ell – look so much forward to welcome this lovely person in Cologne, thanks to Sound of Nashville. Nonetheless, some nice tunes for this weekend:

Okay, this feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: Def Leppard in a country music playlist. And indeed, their new album Diamond Star Halos features this great collaboration with Alison Kraus. And if you love the Brits rockin’: There is plenty of stuff for you in the album as well.

• Fly by Vicki Manser

I ran into Vicki Manser and her music as she is currently playing the role of Regina at my favorite musical, Rock of Ages (in the UK tour). If you are at the Buckle & Boots next weekend, you can listen to her country music side of life.

• Whiskey Knows by Jessica Rose

New Jersey-origin Jessica Rose gives a nice dark, rocking sound in her new single Whiskey Knows. I liked it – and I put it on the playlist.

• Doin’ Me by Maddie Rean

I had the review of Maddie Rean’s new album on my list, but could only go for backlog material this weekend. Doin’ Me is the title track of her this week’s release. Give her a listen!

Quite a busy week lies ahead of me, with three trips, business and private. Also, just two weeks before heading towards Nashville for the CMA Fest. Here are my five picks of songs.

• Lucky by CreatiVets feat. Kenny Foster

Kenny! You could easily miss that release which he had with the CreatiVets this week. I had bunch of their songs on Flyctory.com playlists already, a very interesting program supporting veterans in dealing with their post-war issues by using arts and music. Nice one.

• Regulars + Drop Ins by Stephanie Ryann

Great to have a new Stephanie Ryann song out – just one of the artists I love to follow. Have a listen to this one.

• Get To Me by Sarah Darling

I just did not make to have a review of Sarah Darling’s new EP Darling. There were just too many releases this week and the EP finally just features one new song, Get To Me. Have a listen.

• Honky Tonk Town by Ronnie Dunn feat. Jake Worthington

Country legend Ronnie Dunn meats the second placed artist of the 2014 The Voice season, Jake Worthington. The result is a great one!

• Let The Summer Begin by Dennis Adamus

The promotion agency put the new Dennis Adamus song out as a new summer pop-rock song – but ain’t that country music by the German artist? I love it!

Country Music Playlist Update Log (16th May 2022)

This weekend, I supported the German national team at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Helsinki. Even had some time for quite a bit of travel contents. In addition, I had quite a long list of single releases, especially for the New Country Songs playlists, which the EP and album list was not that long. These are the new songs I finally picked:

• Second Chance by 49 Winchester

Fortune Favors The Bold is a really nice album by 49 Winchester. I enjoyed the review – Second Chance is one of my favorites.

• I Like Ya Like That by Haper Grae

Harper Grae’s EP Confessions of a Good Southern Lady is a very emotional and spiritual release. I went for the most powerful song out of the seven ones for the playlist.

• Seeing Someone Else by Ingrid Andress

Very intense new single by Ingrid Andress. Felt this one should be on the playlist.

• Hell Of A Way To Go by Riley Green

Glad to have a new listen by Riley Green, who has already been featured twice in Flyctory.com reviews, (EP Behind The Bar and album Different ‘Round Here). Hell Of A Way To Go is another really good listen.

• Nashville Lullaby by Luke Thomas

One EP which just did not make it into my reviews is Just Getting Started by Luke Thomas. The closing song Nashville Lullaby is a beauty.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (9th May 2022)

Another week, another set of songs. Just returning from a musical trip to London, I tried to catch up and get back to speed with Flyctory.com, filling my backlog of ready-to-publish postings. One factor why it did not really work out was the quite high number of new releases this week. Hope you like my selection of tracks.

• Love Like We’re Drunk by Kylie Morgan

I loved Kylie Morgan’s debut EP Love, Kylie, which she released in June 2021. Now, there is a new single. And I still love what this lady is doing. Thumbs up!

• Like I Love Country Music by Kane Brown

Kane Brown will tour Europe, including three tour stages in Germany – as you can see in my Future Concerts list. In addition to this great news, there is also a new single release by the artist. Look forward to have you in Germany, Kane Brown!

• King of Saturday Night by Midland

Midland’s EP upgrade / album The Last Resort: Greetings From got some critics from my side – but of course, the Texas band delivers a bunch of cool songs in there. King of Saturday Night is my favorite new song of the release.

• Gone Country by Alan Jackson

A classic: I try to add some rather traditional tracks here and there to the playlist. I recently listened to the 1994 song and felt it should have some presence in here.

• Everybody Else by Aaron Raitiere

Single Wide Dreamer by Aaron Raitiere is an album which highly reflects the talent of the Grammy winning songwriter. Even though there are some songs which simply feel weird to me, it also contains some really cool recordings. I opted for Everybody Else.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (2nd May 2022)

It took me quite a lot of time to travel to and through the United States during the first three shows of the 2022 Weird Al Yankovic Tour. Thus, I missed a couple of really good new releases on the country music album side. Some of the artist now made it to my playlist.

• All That’s Left by Lee Newton

I would have loved to review the album UNLEESHED be Lee Newton  – but there was simply no time for it. A couple of really interesting and good tracks – I finally opted for this one.

• Pursuit of Happiness by Miranda Lambert

Befriended German media praised Palomino by Miranda Lambert. I absolutely liked the album. Pursuit of Happiness is my favorite track.

• 1×1 by Jake Owen

Not a new album, but a really good new single release by Jake Owen. One of the first songs I put on my list this week when I started to review new songs of the week.

• Low Class Lovers by LANCO

Good to have some new tunes by LANCO as well. Typical LANCO sound paired with some emotional moments, great listen.

• I Don’t Go To Funerals by Willie Nelson

One of the albums I really felt bad about that I could not have a deeper listen is A Beautiful Time by Willie Nelson. I loved a couple of songs – but finally I felt that this track suits him best.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (25th April 2022)

So many cool music events are coming up the next weeks. Look forward to them. This weekend, I have been to Warsaw, watching my very favorite musical Rock of Ages for the first time in Polish. It has been really fun, even though I don’t understand a word. Next week, I will be traveling to the first shows of the Weird Al Yankovic Tour 2022. Look forward to see some of my friends there again. There were plenty of cool country music releases this week as well, also on the EP and album side. A bit of a traditional touch here and there, but good songs.

• Shared Walls by Tenilles Townes feat. Breland

Tenille Townes’ EP Masquerades really convinced me. Seven great songs. This collaboration with Breland was the most surprising and one of the best songs to me.

• Poor Kids by Kenny Foster

Somehow, the lovely Kenny Foster is the most amazing guy in country music business to me. What a laid back, super-creative, funny guy. Great that there are new Kenny songs in the pipleline. Poor Kids is one of them.

• Free (One Heart) by Joshua Hedley

A lot of really great releases and reviews on the country music side of Flyctory.com this weekend. Joshua Hedley opened the set of reviews with his great Neon Blue album. Free (One Heart) has been one of my favorites.

• Painkiller by Old Crow Medicine Show

So hard to pick a favorite release and review this weekend – they have all been so good. Paint This Town by the Old Crow Medicine Show is one of these really great listens. I really needed a Painkiller after the tough process of spotting my favorite track on this album.

• Make Way For A Better Man by Charley Crockett

The last country music release I shared with you this week is Jukebox Charley, released by Charley Crockett under his alternative branding Lil’ G.L.. Good songs as well, but there were just too strong alternatives this weekend. Still, a good listen – and some very nice tracks like this one.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (18th April 2022)

This weekend, I spend on Malta for the first time since some thirty years. As I already wrote in my this week’s Songs of the Week posting, the Easter week had significantly less releases. Nonetheless, I feel there was a lot of good stuff in there.

• Love To Burn by Chayce Beckham

I definitely looked forward to Chayce Beckham’s debut EP Doin’ It Right – and the American Idol winner did not disappoint. Here is my favorite track.

• Thank God We Broke Up by Julia Cole

Julia Cole became super-active in the last months and released a bunch of new songs. I really like what she is doing – even though my last review (the Honey Child EP) is dated as of April 2020. Here is her new single.

• Two Dozen Roses by Shenandoah

Going back to the 1980’s with this classic, when Shenandoah sang about Two Dozen Roses. I just ran into that song again recently and felt it should be in here, whenever it fits well.

• Boy in Cowboy by Sarabeth Taite

A new song by Sarabeth Taite – and a really catching one in my point of view. Hope you like it, too.

• Point of View by Gary Quinn

So good to have new tunes by the lovely British country artist Gary Quinn. Point of View is another great recording by him.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (11th April 2022)

First time since ages I have been to London this weekend. A musical trip – and even though it started with my favorite one, Rock of Ages (see my European Dates 2022 overview), I finally ended up with War of the Worlds. First row tickets with the great Kevin Clifton in The O2 in London – but finally, I can also now reconcile some of the hassle people reported from the 2022 Country to Country there. There is just one place in the world, which combines a large indoor venue with multiple medium-sized and smaller ones as well as a bunch of restaurants and an outlet shopping mall. The reason: it just does not work. In contrast to that, country music worked out great this weekend. Some really cool songs on the playlist.

• She Had Me At Heads Carolina by Cole Swindell

Stereotype by Cole Swindell is a great album – and this song with the Jo Dee Messina references is simply my favorite. Superb!

• Gave It Back Broken by Callista Clark

Callista Clark impressed the German country listeners during the Sound of Nashville shows, while I have been touring with the Pittsburgh Penguins. This weekend, she released a new track. Good one!

• Dreamin’s Free by Caitlyn Smith

Even though Caitlyn Smith’s new album High is overall a really nice listen, it is simply too short. Does not change the fact that it contains some really nice tracks – like this one.

• New Sheriff in Town by Brenna Bone

Brenna Bone is simply awesome in my point of view. Her new single, New Sheriff in Town has a lot of rock power. Very good one.

• Mercy by Brett Young

Last, but not least, a classic by Brett Young. Just felt that I could give him some presence in the playlist again 🙂

Country Music Playlist Update Log (4th April 2022)

I had a nice Rock of Ages “warm-up” in Pinneberg North of Hamburg. About a month before the British version of my favorite musical is getting back to stage, I had a really good time with an amateur theater. Much better start into the Central European shows of the year 2022.  On the music side, there were surprisingly few releases this weekend. I was packed with work, so that I could not even digest them on the review side. Still some really interesting additions to my playlist.

• Country As Fuck by Paul Cauthen

Country Coming Down is an unusual interpretation of country music, but Paul Cauthen simply did a great listen. The opening track is the outstanding highlight of the new release.

• Hungover by Sarah Darling

Sarah Darling’s second single release this year. Again, she is impressing with her amazing vocal presence. An outstanding talent to create atmosphere with her voice.

• Kids of the Baby Boom by Bellamy Brothers

I aimed to include this 1987 classic to my playlist since a couple of weeks – now I finally found a good slot for it. Hope you enjoy some slightly old-fashioned sounds.

• What About Me by Ann Doka

Not at all old-fashioned is German Ann Doka and her new album, House of Change. The friendly artist did a really good set of songs. I selected a country-pop track.

• Anything Cold by Thomas Rhett

The new album by Thomas Rhett, Where We Started, is another really good one. I just did not make it to do a review – but here is my favorite of the not previously released songs – cheers!

Country Music Playlist Update Log (28th March 2022)

I am still suffering from the Pittsburgh Penguins eleven day trip. I guess my body hasn’t enjoyed the United Airlines hassle on the last day 😉 A very refreshing thing, however, are the new releases of the week. Three of my favorite and supported artists released new songs – and they are all in here. Unfortunately, that means I could not add a classic track to the list of songs this time.

• Things We Shouldn’t Do by Chris Rose feat. Chelsea Berman

So glad that there is a new song by my favorite Australian artist Chelsea Berman. A really nice collaboration with her colleague Chris Rose. Hope one day I can see her live on stage – and that you enjoy the song as well.

• Somebody Will by Christina Taylor

Christina Taylor’s lovely, soulful voice feels like a guarantee to deliver great music. With Somebody Will, there is another beautiful release by her. Love it.

• All I Can Think About Lately by CJ Solar

CJ Solar made it to my playlists here and there already. I like his powerful, rocking style. All I Can Think About Lately is another really nice one – hope you enjoy as much as I do.

• Tom Barrett by Ian Noe

Ian Noe is telling beautiful stories about a Kentucky small town in his new album River Fools & Mountain Saints. I picked this song about the veteran Tom Barrett.

• Pictures of Us by Vic Allen

Last, but not least, a new track by the lovely British artist Vic Allen. A beautiful, gentle track I absolutely enjoyed to listen to.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (21st March 2022)

The second playlist update I in fact managed from the USA during my Pittsburgh Penguins trip. Of course, the songs I listened to there influenced me – but there has also been a lot of other really interesting stuff happening this weekend.

• I like it, I love it by Tim McGraw

I listened too this song a bit too often during the Penguins match at Bridgestone Arena on Day 6 (as it is the Nashville Predators goal horn). But I cannot neglect that I like the song. Definitely one of the songs which stayed in my mind during the ice hockey hopping trip March 2022.

• I’m From The South by Amber DeLaCruz

I just happened to run into a gig of Amber DeLaCruz in Jason Aldean’s Broadway honky-tonk during my trip. I just loved what she did on stage – which was more or less completely a cover set. Here is her most successful original so far.

• Stay by Carolyn Miller

Carolyn Miller feels to be one of the easiest selections I can take on Flyctory.com for playlist nomination. She is simply delivering great music. Her beautiful new track Stay is another proof for that.

• Howdy by Kaylee Rose

The only thing which really bothered me on my Penguins trip was that I just missed a couple of cool Nashville shows. Sarah Darling played the Bluebird before I arrived in Music City, Vic Allen was in town and I missed performances by Royale Lynn or Kaylee Rose, who I would love to see live on stage. Thus, here is a Kaylee Rose great song.

• 19 Somethin’ (Greatest Hits Version) by Mark Willis

Mark Willis has been the opener of the Opry show I attended on the last full day in the States. This song was simply my favorite. Good chance to put it to the playlist.

While I am following the Pittsburgh Penguins and travel through New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri, the European country army has just celebrated their idols in London, United Kingdom, or Glasgow or Dublin. I just felt to reflect that in my postings.

• Strange by Miranda Lambert

Even though I decided to have the three C2C headliners in the songs, this is in fact really a new song of the week: Miranda is doing a great new song, hope you enjoy the listen.

• Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs

I really never had time to have this beauty by Luke Combs on the playlist. Definitely a good reason to correct it. A track for the country romantic people.

• Alright by Darius Rucker

Last, but not least: Darius Rucker. Here is one of his most successful songs. Another classic.

• Cheater by Taylor Tumlinson

Cheater is a new song by Taylor Tumlinson. I loved the power and the energy in this recording.

• Side by Side by The Shires

Even though I haven’t been a total  fan of The Shires’ The 10 Year Plan album, this song should just be in, I feel. How to you their new album? Agree?

Country Music Playlist Update Log (7th March 2022)

The situation in the Ukraine is still the key thing which I am caring about mentally. At least, one of my best friends there managed to cross the border to the European Union, which leads to some mental relief. The weekend mainly featured the German Floorball Final4 in Berlin – which I decided not to cover as a photographer – first due to the big amount of work and second, because one of the teams participating in both, men and women, is blacklisted for Flyctory.com coverage (due to a previous sport-live.net hassle). But it was cool to visit the event as a spectator. Here are my five new song for the country music week starting on 7th March 2022:

• Get Yourself Together by Ryan Sheridan

The first time I feature a song, which I originally presented in my Songs Of The Week postings. In this week’s edition, Get Yourself Togehter by Irish Ryan Sheridan is so close to country that I give you a listen in this playlist as well.

• Snakes In The Grass by Dolly Parton

Run, Rose, Run is the new album by Dolly, also coming with a novel, which is to be released. Snakes In The Grass is a very dark song – I still liked what she is doing there.

• My Weakness by Jason Aldean

New single by Jason Aldean: My Weakness is another really good one, so that I felt that this one should definitely be added to the playlist.

• Outsider by Jackie Bristow

I found some issues in my thoughts about Jackie Bristow’s new album – but the title track is really a great listen. Hope you do agree.

• Beach Boys by LOCASH feat. Mike Love & Bruce Johnston

LOCASH is very often entertaining my brilliantly – but this Beach Boys homage is just hilarious. Hope you have fun as much as I do.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (28th February 2022)

Simply a shocking week. Even though I gave you the reasons why I feel to continue with my coverage, music reviews, travel and sports here, I may have to temporarily limit my coverage to one posting per day. I am still so shocked and again and again run into the situation that I have a look how my friends in the Ukraine are, how the situation is like there and so on. I am neither really motivated nor efficient enough to keep the two posting rhythm. There is still some backlog to buffer that, though. Very interesting mix of songs, though, this week.

• Wild by Catherine McGrath

I have been very happy to see that Catherine had a gig in Nashville that week. Just a song in the songwriters round, but at least some sort of beginning. She will also be in the C2C lineup soon. If you see the stats of her (still only) album so far are so impressive – hope to hear some new songs soon.

• First Line by The Roads Below

One impact of my limited capacities this weekend is that I did not have a full listen / review of the album Cigarette With Mom by the band The Roads Below. A really interesting listen. First Line is one of my favorites.

• Rhinestone Cowboy by William Michael Morgan

A classic, but still a new one: William Michael Morgan published his 2022-style interpretation of the famous Rhinestone Cowboy this week. I lied the listen.

• The Little Things by Todd Cameron

Another new release: I really liked this one by Todd Cameron, The Little Things. Hope you do, too.

• Joanne by The Cumberland River Project feat. Dave Demay

I am always impressed by the versatility of the German The Cumberland River Project. This time, Frank did a rather traditional country music sound. Really impressive listen.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (21st February 2022)

I am in Germany for two and a half months now – flattered to have some sunny days very soon (Covid-test permitting, of course). I feel this week was a really interesting one with a great range of albums on my list. Hope this is also reflected in my 21st February 2022 update.

• Call Out The Sun by Jördis Tielsch

Even though I initially felt that Danny McMahon’s Senses will grab one of the five spots for the playlist, I finally went for Jördis Tielsch. The German artist creates a beautiful sound – and some of her tracks of New Mornings are even quite country music-alike – like Call Out The Sun.

• It Doesn’t Change Anything by Sarah Shook and the Disarmers

Some tracks this week come with a bit of an alternative sound. Sarah Shook & The Disarmer’s album Nightroamer is somewhere beween country and indie rock and creates a fascinating listen. It Doesn’t Change Anything is my choice for the Country Music Playlists.

• I Can’t Dance by Dave Fenley

One of the two new single releases I added this week. I loved Dave Fenley’s dark-ish sound in I Can’t Dance. Nice country rocker made to dance. (not available on Amazon Music)

• Better Off by Josh Setterfield

Very modern sound in this single release by Josh Setterfield. Really liked it. Hope you do, too.

• Give Up The Ghost by Lauren Jenkins

A music greeting to the wonderful Lauren Jenkins: the lovely soul is about to have a hip surgery soon – time to support by adding one of her classics to the playlist.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (14th February 2022)

Happy Valentines – hope you enjoyed the Superbowl (in case you watched…). My big event of the week has definitely been my 2,000th posting, on which I took you on a swan pedal boat ride in Dubai. I had quite a nice range of music this week – I especially loved my Songs Of The Week edition this week. But there have also been some interesting tunes on the country music side.

• Stars Like Confetti by Dustin Lynch

The beginning of my block of reviews this weekend was Blue In The Sky by Dustin Lynch. For the playlist update, I went for the beautiful Stars Like Confetti.

• Never Enough by Stephanie Ryann

A new song by Stephanie Ryann. If you want to learn more about the amazing artist, have a look into our September 2021 Spotlight interview. Never enough is another really good one. The song is not included in the Amazon Music playlist.

• Fearless by Taylor Swift

In general, I am aiming to mix more classics and good country tracks into the playlist again. Taylor Swift is always an excellent choice – one of her classics. I go for Taylor’s 2021 version, though.

• I Know A Girl by Priscilla Block feat. Hillary Lindsey

Priscilla Block debuts on the album side with Welcome To The Block Party. Even though the new songs of the album are not as good as the single releases so far to me, I really enjoyed this collaboration with Hillary Lindsey

• Broken Neon Hearts by Ronnie Dunn

Last, but not least, I went for Broken Neon Hearts by Ronnie Dunn. A powerful new track – hope you enjoy listening as much as I do.

Three releases by Flyctory.com Featured Artists or supported artists – the playlist update this week was quite a straight selection. In addition, there was an amazing Spotlight interview and an interesting new released music. Unfortunately, Kenny Foster’s new single is not available on Amazon Music, so that I had to skip him from the playlist.

A really new song by Jesse Slack. If you want to learn more about this interesting artist, check out the very nice interview I had with him at the beginning of the week.

• Dim Your Light by Sylvia Aimee

Sylvia Aimee did it again: I love her personal, deep songs. Dim Your Light is another great song, hope you enjoy it, too

• Pretender by Sarah Darling

Pretender is another breathtaking recording by the wonderful Sarah Darling. I just love her voice in this track with a certain pop music touch.

• Blinded Again by Jeffrey Mitchell Ross

Jeffrey Mitchell Ross released the very interesting eight track album Waited A Long Time. I selected this track to the playlist. Lovely song.

• Love Someone by Honey County

That’s a song I wanted to have in the playlist for quite some weeks. The ladies slipped into this set of five songs as I could not add Kenny Foster to the Amazon playlist. Bad luck, good luck time.

I spent the weekend in Munich, gathering some more material for the travel section of Flyctory.com and making use of a hotel promotion (there will be quite some more Hilton Hotel reviews in the first half of 2022 due to that…). • Catch Me If You Can by Katie Henry

Katie Henry’s On My Way has definitely been the release of the week to me. Not really a pure country music album, but a really great listen. Went for Catch Me If You Can for the playlist.

• Swiss Guy by Florian Fox

Country music from Switzerland: Florian Fox makes it to this playlist for the very first time. Nice song with a characteristic voice.

• Not My Business by Brittany Brodie

Chatting with Brittany Brodie in my Spotlight interview section has been such an amazing and friendly experience. One topic was her new single, Not My Business. She definitely deserves to be inducted to this list of 40 song.

• County Girl (Shake It For Me) by Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan is always a good choice, ain’t he? I just felt to add some country party vibe into these dark and cold times. A country classic.

• The Other Side by Maddie & Tae feat. Lori McKenna

I did not make it to review Maddie & Tae’s new eight track release Through The Madness Vol. 1 – but I just had to at least add a song of the EP/album to the list. Lovely collaboration with the legendary Lori McKenna.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (24th January 2022)

After there has been so much new music the lasts weeks, I feel that this week was rather thin in regards of new country music songs. Really interesting to see such a great seasonality in there. Here are five songs I picked:

• County Jail Gate by Kiefer Sutherland

Even though Kiefer Sutherland’s third album Bloor Street cannot keep up with his previous release, there are still some really nice recordings. I went for this recording about a county prison.

• Worry For You by Greensky Bluegrass

Of course, the new album by Greensky Bluegrass is rather a bluegrass album. I still thought it might be nice to share a song of Stress Dreams and finally opted for Worry For You. Hope you enjoy.

• Mirror Night by Lata Gouveia

Lata Gouveia from Portugal is the surprise of the week to me. His album Stay The Same is really a nice listen – hope it helps him to grow his fan base. Mirror Night has been one of my favorites during the review.

• Broken Record by Anthony Nix

I planned to have a feature with Anthony Nix about this song – but somehow, I did not really get the necessary material from his management. Bad luck – the song is a good one.

• House of Cards by Nicole Rayy

Last, but not least, some female country energy by Nicole Rayy with her new single House of Cards. Really a nice listen to me!

Country Music Playlist Update Log (17th January 2022)

A great music and country music weekend. I had so many good albums this weekend – and thus also published more postings than I typically want to handle on a weekend. Two outstanding releases, Bar Stool Preacher by Jacob Bryant and Noah Guthrie’s Blue Wall. Of course, they also did send their songs to the playlists.

• I Hate Alabama by Conner Smith

His debut EP Didn’t Go Too Far has been a really impressive review – finally, I went for his most popular song so far. I have never been to Alabama, so I don’t know whether to agree or disagree. The people there speak kind of strange, though.

• Welcome The Stranger by Noah Guthrie

Noah Guthrie touches so many different styles and genres in his new album. Welcome The Stranger even has some blues touch. Love it!

• It Will Never Rain Roses (2022) by Mrs. Greenbird

Take almost seven minutes for the new version of It Will Never Rain Roses by the amazing Cologne-based duo Mrs. Greenbird. Always love to hear new stuff from them – and very likely, the longest song I had on my playlist ever.

• The Bottom (Raise Em Up) by Jacob Bryant

Jacob Bryant did a great release – I just had a hard time to pick the right song for the playlist. I finally went for the second track on the album, one of my favorites.

• Big Dreams And Faded Jeans by Dolly Parton

A new Dolly one! This lady is simply a legend. Her sound is traditional, is Dolly-like, but I simply love it.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (10th January 2022)

As you also can see in the significantly longer list of my Songs Of The Week edition of this week, there has been significantly more releases this weekend already. With Maren Morris and Luke Combs, there are also two really big names on my list – hope you enjoy the five new additions.

• Circles Around This Town by Maren Morris

A great new single release by Maren Morris. I was really glad to have that one also on one of the promotion platforms I am using to receive new music. However, the track was flagged as pop. Dare to do country music – even on the German market!

• Doin’ This by Luke Combs

Luke Combs – I typically don’t need to say too much. He is delivering good music constantly. Doin’ This is just another great proof.

• Brighter Day by The Cumberland River Project

What’s Luke Combs on the US country side is Frank Renford and his The Cumberland River Project in Germany: you don’t even have to listen to a new song – you know beforehand that he did another great write. That, of course, also applies for Brighter Day. Thumbs up.

• Eileen by Ryan Laird

It’s over a year ago since I interviewed the “Canadian Keith Urban”. Glad to have him back with a new single – really enjoy listening to Eileen.

• Jack of all Trades by Rachel Bradshaw

What a charming artist – and six great songs on her self-titled debut EP. Rachel Bradshaw definitely gave me a very positive surprise this weekend. I finally went for one of the most characteristic tracks of her EP.

Country Music Playlist Update Log (3rd January 2022)

Happy New Year everybody! Hope you had some good first steps in 2022 already. It’s a good opportunity to thank everybody for your support – the website has been growing significiantly the last months. After Christmas, the first new songs are about to be released – so that we got a quite nice mixture of tracks of different styles as playlist additions.

• Rooms by Ann Doka

The lovely Ann Doka is doing the lasts steps before her album release this year. One of the releases is Rooms, which has been published this weekend. I also featured the song in this weekend’s edition of Songs of The Week.

• Thank You by Carolyn Miller

Thank You is the title track of a rather short, but really good to listen new EP by Carolyn Miller. Again, she is performing well, just love her music.

• Y’All Means All by Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert released this song from Season 6 of the QueerEye TV show this week. Good one.

• Rosie Dunn Rd. by Matt Moeller

This weekend, I already reviewed the EP Where We Used To Be by Matt Moeller. The opening track Rosie Dunn Rd. thereby was my favorite.

• Stick That In Your Country Song by Eric Church

I selected Eric Church’s Heart as my Country Album of the Year 2021. Definitely worth to add one of the previous singles of this first album of three ones to the playlist. Cool sound.
