Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 6th February 2026)

Unfortunately, I had to reduce the Flyctory.com coverage this week again. The rationale behind that were health issues. Feels I am getting old. Some exciting things are ahead, hope I am able to stand them. While my Songs of the Week typically take me four to five hours easily, it was rather quick this time. Vice versa, this means that the list of candidate songs was comparably short. Enjoy my selection of new tracks released this week. A very pop-ish selection this time.

Dreamboys The Band – Jeanie

What do you expect when you read this band’s name? Quite likely not a German indie-pop band consisting of four ladies. The Berlin quartet are trying to win the German qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest at the end of the month. It is their debut single. A really nice one – will they go to Vienna in May?

Dara Renee – Glitter Glide

I have no idea what Stitch and Angel’s Pop Star Party is in fact – but Dara Renee is delivering her song Glitter Glide for that purpose. Unfortunately, the promo did not come with a press kit. California-origin Dara Renee, however, has been part of several Disney productions already, including the TV series of High School Musical.

Baldur – Sporty Girls

My third song this time is from TUTL Records – which means it comes from the Faroe Islands. The artist behind the song is Baldur Heinesen, who had two single releases in 2025 already. A nice pop track, which stays in your mind.

Masie Peters – My Regards

British artist Masie Peters is one of the better known artists on my this week’s release radar. With songs like Lost The Breakup, she already had some very successful releases. Here is her latest one.

JJ – Shapeshifter

JJ – or Johannes Pietsch – became the Austrian music hero last year by winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel in 2025. Thus, he is bringing the music competition to his home town. With Shapeshifter, he is releasing his new song.

Esther Graf x NESS – Nirgendwen

It is hard to translate the title of this Austrian collaboration – Nirgendwen means something like “not anybody”. The result is a really catching pop track. I really like it.

Clueso – Immer wenn Du nicht da bist

The last time I featured German artist Clueso was with his song Minimum, which was in my 25th July 2025 Songs of the Week. This week he shares “Whenever you ae not there” – a song about missing somebody you lost. Lovely storytelling is the foundation of this one.

Sombr – Homewrecker

Sombr is an artist who grew up on the Lower East Side in New York City. He had a couple of great songs already. This week, he shares Homewrecker – he will tour Europe from 10th February 2026, starting in Stockholm.

Myles Smith & Niall Horan – Drive Safe

Drive Safe is a lovely British-Irish collaboration. Myles Smith was huge with his song Stargazing (2024), which lead to three platinum records each in the US and the United Kingdom. Niall Horan is also a member of One Direction. A great one!

Def Crüe – 27 Ghosts

Finally, there is some hard rock in my Songs of the Week this week. I really like this song by the Austrian band Def Crüe. The song reminds of all the rock icons who died at the age of 27. Great one. At the end of the month, they will support Edenbridge in Vienna.
