For my weekend trip to Andorra in November 2022, I was looking for a hotel in a rather central location in the capital, Andorra La Vella. I finally opted for the Acta Arthotel, which is also in walking distance to the bus shuttle to Andorra La Seu d’Urgell Airport (LEU). Here is my review of the hotel.

 

Acta Arthotel – Location

The Acta Arthotel is located at the Carrer Prat de la Creu, right next to the river La Valira. There are a couple of other hotels (like the Novotel Andorra) and restaurants around. It is a rather short walk to city center with all the shopping and hanging out facilities, but there are also some casinos around, if you want to distract you that way. I felt it is quite a good place to explore the capital of Andorra.

I had a one day car rental with IFRENT in the country and driving in Andorra La Vella is a bit of weird. Around the hotel, the police was frequently changing traffic into a one-way to reduce congestion. Thus, I would may opt for another place when you come by car. The hotel does have a parking garage, though. From Estacion de Autobuses de Andorra, the central bus station, it is about a ten minutes walk. However, Andorra is hilly, so that the trip may be bothering with major luggage.

 

Acta Arthotel – Room

I had a two night stay on a weekend in November 2023, Friday to Sunday. My booking was flexible for a double room with mountain view. The total room rate, including all taxes, was 207.66 EUR. The room was a bot of old-fashioned, but really large. I also enjoyed the views of the river and the mountain. The room also featured a sufficient number of chairs, a large work desk and a fridge, which was very handy during my visit. Overall, I really liked it.

The spotless bathroom continued with a rather traditional style. Again, the hotel did what was necessary to feel really happy, the bathtub was also a nice place to relax.

 

Acta Arthotel – Breakfast

While dining was done downstairs, close to the reception, the breakfast was served on the top floor, which was a really lovely place to begin the day. The selection of breakfast items was nice, there have been several buffet areas during my stay so that you had healthy, sweet and less healthy options. It was not overwhelming, though.

 

Acta Arthotel – Service

Typically, the Acta Arthotel drives a very nice spa (at least, according to pictures). The place was closed during my stay, which really has been a shame. The staff in the hotel was really kind and helpful, I felt very welcome in their country and their hotel. The WiFi worked out very well. The housekeeping was imprecise, though – they took away the soap without replacing it, which was really weird.

 

Acta Arthotel – My View

The hotel might need some renovation – not because the room was run-down, but it just feels too traditional in my point of view. If you skip that in mind, I had a really nice stay at the Acta Arthotel in the heart of Andorra La Vella. Unfortunately, the spa was closed, which has been announced rather late before my booking. The hotel is a nice option if you need a night in the capital city.
