I already took you to the American Dream in New Jersey twice. The iconic and very modern shopping mall features the Angry Birds Mini Golf and the Nickelodeon Universe amusement park. In this post, there is another visit to East Rutherford. The attraction I feature is quite a classic, the Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium. Let’s have a visit to a couple of fish.

 

Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium – Location & Admission

As said, Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium is located in the American Dreams Meadowlands Mall. It is almost next door to the Legoland Discovery Center in the same mall on the lowest floor. The easiest way to get there is by car. However, as the MetLife Stadium is next to the mall, there is also some decent public transport from Manhattan and New Jersey.

The aquarium has different opening times, depending on the weekday. The average opening time is 10:00 to 18:30. On Saturdays, doors close at 20:00. On Fridays, the Merlin Entertainments attraction opens at 11:00 and on Tuesdays at noon. If you book online, the adult ticket is 33.90 USD, including tax and processing fees, maximum. However, there are various online discounts and the possibility to also visit the Legoland Discovery Center. The place is included in some New York City sightseeing passes.

 

Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium – The Visit

New Jersey’s Sea Life outlet comes with the typical features. The visit is split into different sections. I liked that there is quite a focus on local and regional maritime life. The aquarium features screens and touchscreens which give you additional information about the species in the habitats. Overall, the presentation is absolutely in line with other Sea Life places. This explicitly means that you are going to have a really enjoyable time.

There is a downside about Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium though: likely also as it is located in a shopping mall, it is rather small. It took us roughly 35 minutes to get through the exhibition. This is a bit too limited, I believe. The more or less signature tunnel walk through the major basin is also comparably short. Nonetheless, the place is well designed and my wife and I also loved the sort walk through this key element of your visit.

 

Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium – Services

The staff at the Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium was very friendly and welcoming. During your visit, you also pass a Playzone to give your kids a good time to hang out a bit. At the end of your tour through Sea Life, you (not too surprisingly) reach the gift shop. You can also have a look into the Legoland Discovery Center one. The items sold in there are quite (stereo)typical.

 

Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium – My View

I really liked my visit at the Sea Life New Jersey Aquarium. The local focus also leads to a nice touch. However, the visit is just too short. The admission is not too high Iin US relations), but you should also not expect that much value in regards of visiting time for it.
