Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 10th January 2025)

After my previous edition of the Songs of the Week more or less covering two weeks, this one is first full edition of my weekly new release radar. The music industry had a lot of interesting releases this time. Here are my favorites.

tAKiDA – The Game

tAKiDA is one of the most successful rock bands from Sweden. I already featured their 2021 album Falling From Fame. In 2024, they added the album The Agony Flame. Now they are back with new music – and it is a great one.

Iggi Kelly – Break My Heart

Whenever I read the surname Kelly, I think of the Kelly Family. Indeed, Iggi Kelly is one of the youngest artists emerging from the USIrish musician family. The son of Maria Patricia Kelly released the pop track Break My Heart this week. A really nice release by the German artist born 2003 in Düsseldorf.

Nino de Angelo – Wer bringt dich nach Hause

Nino de Angelo brings German schlager into this playlist. With his unique and lovely sound, Nino released another really good listen this week.

Julia Meladin – Melancholie

Another 2003-born German artist on my list this week is Julia Meladin. The title of her song Melancholie does not only translate to “Melancholy”, the song also has a sad touch. But it is a really beautiful listen.

Jupiter Flynn & Nina Caroline – Blind

Two young female singer-songwriters meet for this duet. Jupiter Flynn is originally from Amsterdam. The Dutch artist is nowadays living in Berlin. I don’t have that much bio information about her German duet partner Nina Caroline, unfortunately.

Pia Baris – Bittersweet

Another young female German artist in this week’s Songs of the Week is Pia Barris. Her new song Bittersweet is not that much of a bitter listen, I have much more sweet and happy emotions while enjoying her happy pop track.

Michael Moravek – Chickenman’s Blues

Michael Moravek has Serbian roots, but lives in Germany since the age of two. The 1967-born artist has established in the German music scene, even though he released his debut album at the age of 50. The Chickenman’s Blues is a lovely, gentle folk song with nice storytelling.

Björn Dixgard – Wind Blow

I featured Björn Dixgard in my 25th October 2024 Songs of the Week already. The singer of Mando Diao released a lovely and intense ballad this week. His energetic voice creates a very special atmosphere. Really nice one.

Dean Lewis – With You

One of the most beautiful songs this week is by Australian artist Dean Lewis. With You is a lovely, gentle ballad.
