Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 16th January 2026)

I headed to Norway for handball on Thursday night. A lot of music was in my promotion inbox for this week’s Songs of the Week – but I felt like sorting out quite a bit of them. Nonetheless, here is a really nice list of a wide range of new songs.

Elysia Biro – Gentleman Blue

Pop, jazz, even classical music – there are a lot of influences in the songs by Elysia Biro. While gentleman Blue is just her fourth single release, the Canadian already built a large fan base on Social Media. More than 200k people follow her on Instagram only. This song underlines the great talent by the young lady from Vancouver Island, who is now living in London.

Hillary Duff – Roommates

Even though she already had songs like Come Clean or So Yesterday, it is the first time I feature Hillary Duff. The 1987-born US-American artist from Houston became famous by the Disney Channel TV series Lizzie McGuire. The multi-talented artist is also an author and ran a collection for dog fashion in the early 2000’s.

Levent Geiger – Champagne

There are quite a lot of nationalities in my song selection this week. However, there are – of course – also artists from Germany. One of them is Levent Geiger. The Munich-origin became famous by being the finalist in the TV talent show Dein Song (“Your Song”) by a children’s channel twice. This week, he released the really stunning song Champagne.

Michael Benjamin – A Blanket of Smoke

The upcoming album by Michael Benjamin will be Choreography Of A Lover. The slow song A Blanket of Smoke is a lovely teaser by the Zurich artist.

Aaron Rowe – Please Don’t Hate Me

You might not know Aaron Rowe from Dublin yet. However, the Irish artist already supported Lewis Capaldi on tour. This week he released this beautiful song – I am sure it will be another big step in his career.

Jose Gonzalez – Against The Dying Of The Light

Jose Gonzales released Against The Dying Of The Light on Tuesday already. The song will also be the title track of his fifth studio album, which is scheduled for release on 27th March 2026. A really nice song by the Swedish artist.

Marc Atlas – Echoes of You

Marc Atlas played the SWR3 New Pop Festival last year. If you know something about the German festival scene, you know that this guy is an absolutely interesting artist. On 20th March 2026, the German artist will release his debut album Nothing To Lose. His first full tour will be in fall this year.

Paul Holland – Clouds of Haze

The German-British artist released the beautiful pop track Clouds of Haze this week. The song will also be part of his upcoming debut album. Congrats to his debut on Flyctory.com!

Hana Lili – Ur Girlfriends A Lawyer

That was close! I really struggled whether Hana Lili’s new song show be my leading Song of the Week this time. I finally went for the Canadian song – but this track by the Welsh artist is a lovely mixture of pop punk and alternative rock. Her EP Hana will be released in April.

Yellowcard feat. Good Charlotte – Bedroom Posters

Two US-American rock bands, Yellowcard and Good Charlotte, join forces this week. They released the song Bedroom Posters. If you like hard rock with a punk touch, this one is a great option.

Love Ghost – Vengeance

The darkest song in my this week’s seelction is Vengeance by Love Ghost. The US-American band from Los Angeles combine several rock and hard rock genres and thus create a very deep and characteristic sound. The will tour Europe in April 2026.

Bird’s View – Shadows

Loud music from Frankfurt is what the band account of Bird’s View describes their own style. The German band looks forward to an exciting year 2026.  Their new album Above Chaos is released in May 2026, when they also will present it live on stage in Austria and Germany. Nice alternative rock – I look forward to the record.

Robbie Williams – All My Life

Robbie Williams is back with a new song. With his upcoming album Britpop, he will have some release concerts. I am sure that his fans look forward to 6th February 2026, when the album will be released.

Riku Rajamaa – Someone With A Heart of Gold

You might have listened to Someone With A Heart of Gold already. The song by the Finnish artist Riku Rajamaa has been exclusive to radio stations for three weeks – now it is published as a single as well. A lovely pop track!

Gotthard – Smiling In The Pouring Rain

When you think of Gotthard, you think of straight classic rock and hard rock. This week, they show their gentle and emotional side with Smiling In The Pouring Rain. My Songs of the Week close with a ballad from Switzerland.
