Ashley Anne is releasing her second EP this year. After I already shared her debut EP, dear dolly, with you, she is sharing Call Me When You Land on 15th November 2024. I had the opportunity to listen to the EP of the female country artist beforehand and share my thoughts with you.

 

Ashley Anne – About The Artist

Ashley Anne names herself a coastal Virginian on her Instagram account, which is followed by over 50k people. The 19 year old artist moved from Virginia Beach to Nashville at the age of 18 to pursue her country music career. She is playing the piano and the guitar. Two of her songs, Dear Dolly and She Ain’t Texas have been streamed over a million times each on Spotify.

 

Ashley Anne – Call Me When You Land – Track by Track

The six track EP lasts 21 minutes.

1. Left My T-Shirt

I left my t-shirt at your place – the second Ashley Anne EP 2024 starts emotionally with a country music ballad. The song is majorly driven by the acoustic guitar and comes with some steel guitar chords in the background. A very personal listen, which opens the EP in a nice way.

2. Makeup Off

After the already released Left My T-Shirt, Makeup Off is the first new song on Call Me When You Land. The style is similar and rather leans to the personal and emotional side. However, the song is a bit more dynamic and also comes with present drumming. The opener has been a bit more catching, though.

3. Don’t Ruin This Record

In the third song, Ashley Anne states Don’t ruin this record for me. It feels almost needless to say that the EP stays on the emotional side and talks about love. This one has a really nice flow and a swaying style. I like it.

4. Call Me When You Land

The last song on the EP, which has already been released beforehand, is its title track. The song is comparably energetic and comes with some vibes, which even spread a bit of a late summer feeling. Call Me When You Land definitely takes over the role of a somehow leading track of the EP.

5. I Can Be A Woman

I Can Be A Woman is a lovely praise of a well-working relationship. He’s a man, so I can be a woman is the core message of this song. A beautiful listen full of romantic attitude – and the most heartwarming song of this six song set.

6. Drive You Anywhere

The EP closes with Drive You Anywhere. The strumming acoustic guitar almost feels like a harp and by that boosts the kitschy touch. However, who would not grant Ashley Anne these happy feelings at the end of the end of Call Me When You Land?

Call Me When You Land is a very emotional and by that personal release by Ashley Anne. The signature of the album leads to a certain level of monotony while listen, even though the songs define their own character. Overall, I really enjoyed listening to her second major release of the year.
