Flyctory.com Pros

  • Very personal and intimate songs
  • Good songwriting
  • Nice, different kinds of songs with a common message

Despite Valentine is her ninth studio album already, I haven’t featured Courtney Marie Andrews so far. The artist became famous for her solo music, but also collaborating with acts like Milow or Jimmy Eats World. Valentine is released on 16th January 2026.

Courtney Marie Andrews – About The Artist

Country Marie Andrews is a singer songwriter from Phoenix in Arizona. Her music is a mixture of indie-pop, folk and country. Born on 7th November 1990, she started to write music in teenage years and turned professional in 2007. In 2008, she released her debut album Urban Myths. Her most recent album was Loose Future (2022).

Courtney Marie Andrews – Valentine – Track by Track

The ten song album lasts 36 minutes.

1. Pendulum Swing

Man, I love a heart
With one foot out the door
One that leaves you hungry
Coming back for more

These words open Country Marie Andrews 2026 album. The song feels thoughtful, melancholic. It is focusing on the voice of the artist, the instruments are rather taking a background role. The opener has a nice intensity and definitely demands for more.

2. Keeper

‘Cause I’m the keeper of your heart, I’m the keeper of your secrets – the second song does not only sent a stronger message, it is also more present. The song has a touch of folk-pop. I really like it.

3. Cons & Clowns

The next song on Valentine is Cons & Clowns. The song deals with hate and thus also addresses the behavior of people on social media. However, Country Marie Andrews sets a clear message against that. And praises the beautfy of harmony and the simple things. The instrumental section introducing instruments like panpipes spreads some additional magic.

It’s a scary world full of cons and clowns
A lot of bad people who will tear you down
Not me, no way,
I only wanna hear you play
Not me, no way,
I only wanna hear you play

4. Magic Touch

Magic Touch introduces some stronger country music vibes to the album. The song reminds me of Kacey Musgraves songs. The song takes you to Los Angeles. Courtney Marie Andrews does not feel the biggest fan of the city. We walked these streets, this corner reeks of piss and beer and good times, she states in the lyrics. However, the song has a postive message. The song continues with When you’re around I light up – you’ve got that magic touch. Heartwarming!

5. Little Picture of a Butterfly

The almost five minutes Little Picture of a Butterfly starts with some indie tunes, but then more and more goes for Americana-style melody. The rhythm is rather monotonous. However, there are small melodic bits and pieces, which makes it very interesting to explore the song. And there is the storytelling. It makes it worth even more to give this song a listen.

6. Outsider

I wanna be an outsider
It’s too painful looking in
Have fun with the insiders
The risk is too big

The next song is another one which underlines the lyrical beauty of Courtney Marie Anderson’s songs. However, the song also has a nice melodic plot. Even though the song is a rather slow one, you simply feel to listen to this one. Sometimes, you have to be the Outsider.

7. Everyone Wants to Feel Like You Do

The title already underlines the direction which this song is taking. There is a lot of admiration and love in this song. And you get a bit of jealous about this grey guy on the album cover. He is getting a lot of love and attention on Valentine. Towards the end of the song, Andrews surprises with a distorted guitar solo.

8. Only the Best

The child in me needs your love, Courtney Marie Andrews states at the beginning of the eighth song. The song is about the love of a mother to her kid. This leads to a very personal touch.

9. Best Friend

The album is so full of love, you want this one to be another harmonic one. However, already in the second line, there is I wish I had a best friend. The song is a lovely ballad with strumming country music chords in the background. I would love to listen to this one, when Courtney Marie is on stage. I am sure it would be impressing.

10. Hangman

Hangman is the closing track of Valentine. The song is about a friendship, which Andrews is demanding to change into a relationship. A strong final message of this album.
