Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 12th September 2025)

I am very busy the next weeks. Thus, until mid-October, I will likely have to prepare all album reviews and cannot wait for records being actually released. This week, I missed some really interesting and good releases by that, including Heinz Rudolf Kunze’s new album. My list of new songs released in the week until 12th September 2025 is a really good – and diverse – one. Hope you like it!

Saint City Orchestra – Middle Finger Song

I am heading to Switzerland for sports photography this weekend (Davis Cup time…) – and my Songs of the Week are lead by a Swiss band as well. The folk-punk band from St. Gallen released a really catching and fun rocker, which already drove the masses at the 2025 Wacken Open Air. Now they are on the top at my website.

Dämmerland & Eisbrecher – Willkommen In Der Dunkelheit

Dämmerland are mixing fantasy audiobook elements with folk metal. The trio peaked second in the German charts with their debut self-titled debut album in 2024. They already collaborated with numerous major bands and artists. For their new song (“Welcome To Darkness”), they team up with the Southern German dark hard rock / metal band Eisbrecher. Wow, there is a lot of cool raw force in this one.

April Art & League Of Distortion – Double Trouble

I hope I can make it to one of the April Art shows later this year (see my Tour Date Overview). This week, the German band is teaming up with their domestic modern metal mates. We are double trouble, they state. I feel they rather duplicate the fun.

Matakustix – Feierabend

“It is home time and the work day has already been too long” – who cannot relate to these lyrics by Matakustix. The artist behind the project name is Matthias Ortner, an Austrian artist from Klagenfurt. He is doing Austrian German songs. The track just missed being on the very top of this posting.

Perlregen – Dynamit

I featured the band Perlregen from the German Saarland a couple of times already. Apart from multiple Songs of the Week features, I reviewed their 2021 album Drei. This week they fire some “Dynamite”. Maybe that’s the right bang they need towards 2 Seiten 2 Welten. Their new album will be released on 7th November 2025.

Nino de Angelo & Marina Marx – Liebe fühlt sich anders an

Two big names of schlager music team up for this powerful track. Nino de Angelo and Marina Marx do an amazing duet, which rather feels like a German pop-rock song – and comes with a lot of emotions.

Unheilig – Wunderschön

The tour date release of the German dark rock band Unheilig for the end of the 2025 is definitely one of the big comebacks in the German music scene of the year. The Aachen act around lead singer Der Graf (“The Count”) had massive domestic hits in the early 2010’s. Wunderschön is looking back to these times. A lovely new single.

Magdalena Wawra – Neongrün & Rosarot

Magdalena Wawra is an Austrian artist and actress. On her musical side, the Vienna-origin lady is doing lovely indie-pop songs. Like this new song. I absolutely love it.

Martina – Nur du und i

I was really happy to run into Southern German artist Martina again. After I featured the schlager lady in an April 2023 Spotlight interview, she released the summer vibe song Nur du und i (“Just you and me”) this week. I love the vibes of the song.

Damiano David feat. Tyla & Nile Rodgers – Talk To Me

Damiano is an Italian singer-songwriter. For his gentle pop track, he is teaming up with Tyla from South Africa and US-American musician and producer Nile Rodgers. He is currently touring – his German shows are sold out. Not too surprisingly, if you listen to songs like this one.

Son Mieux – Morning

Son Mieux is a Dutch pop-rock band from The Hague. Founded in 2015, they are very popular in their domestic market, but already steadily grow in other European markets. I am sure that the seven band members will increase their fan base with this new one.

Robert Pettersson – All These Years

Swedish artist Robert Pettersson is known for fronting two very successful bands, Stiftelsen and tAKiDA. However, the Uppsala origin is also great as a solo artist, as his new single is underlining. I really love it!

Bosse – peu a peu

Bosse is a German artist from Braunschweig. Since his debut album Kamikazeherz released in 2005, he steadily grew his popularity. Two golden records for his albums and two chart-topping records are in his discography already. This week he released his new song. I love its energy and the cool vibes. Great one!
