Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 8th August 2025)

Summer time in Germany – as the 16 German states have individual summer school break periods, this is the only week this year in which all German schools are closed. Maybe that’s one of the key reasons why this Songs of the Week episode are comparably short. However, I feel that this week’s mix is very diverse and entertaining. Have fun!

Creeper – Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)

Be aware, this week kicks off in the darker spheres! Creeper are a goth punk band from Southampton. They have already released one EP and three albums. The next one, Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death is in the pipeline and will be released on 31st October 2025. I feel scared – and love it!

EIS – Marathon im Hamsterrad

Alles wird gut (“Everything will be good”) is the title of the new album bei EIS. The punk rock band from Franconia released a teaser to this 3rd October 2025 release this week. The title translates to “Marathon in the Hamster Wheel”. Especially the chorus is striking.

Mo-Torres – Song für Dich

With the third song I feature this week, I stay in Germany. However, I take you to my home town Cologne. Local artist Mo-Torres sings “You’re biggest nightmare is coming true – I sing a song for you”. A typical Mo-Torres song mixing pop-rock and rap elements. The chorus turns the track into a really good one.

Mariel Buckley – Swim Practice

Mariel Buckley is working towards her upcoming album Strange Trip Ahead, which will be released on 17th October 2025. The Americana artist from Calgary in Canada features the album this week with her new song Swim Practice. I really like it.

Grateful Cat – Don’t Spread The Hate

The golden era of the bossa-nova feels to have faded quite a while ago. Grateful mix the genre with some indie elements, which leads to a folk-pop feeling. The Berlin duo is the first single release from their sophomore album Ready to go anywhere, which is expected in October 2025.

Malik Harris – LAWIYA

2022 Eurovision Song Contest artist Malik Harris is spreading summer vibes with his new single LAWIYA. Especially the chorus might be a bit of thin in regards of the lyrics – but it is simply fun to dance with him.

Stefanie Heinzmann – Good

At least the Swiss dates of Stefanie Heinzmann’s Circles Tour 2026 are step by step coming loser. You find them in my tour date overview. This week, the lady from Visp (where the tour will stop at 9th April 2025) released this zesty soul-pop song, Good. I love it.

Katiuska McLean – Summer Shine

Katiuska McLean became well- known in German-speaking countries as a contestant in The Voice of Germany (2020) and the equivalent to America’s Got Talent (“Das Supertalent”, 2019). In fact, Katiuska comes from Trinidad and Tobago and nowadays lives in Austria. Apart from that, she releases beautiful songs – like this one.
