Just two months until Christmas – but I still refused to have an according song in my Songs of the Week. I had one or two candidates for it though. The lead this week take some great German artists, Max Giesinger and Michael Schulte. Hope you enjoy their song – and all the others.

 

Max Giesinger & Michael Schulte – More To This Life

Max Giesinger and Michael Schulte both became popular in the German TV talent show The Voice of Germany. This week, they released the amazing guitar track. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

 

Bernhard Pribitzer – ein anderer

Bernhard Pribitzer is an Austrian singer-songwriter from Vienna. Such a beautiful and emotional ballad.

 

Ben Arslan – Überall Zuhaus

Ben Arslan somehow merges the story of the two tracks before. He is also a Vienna artist and grew at a TV talent show, Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German equivalent to America’s Got Talent. His sound is unique, though – and the song stays in your mind.

 

Rob Moir – Trust This Human

Rob Moir is a singer-songwriter from Toronto. The Canadian is currently touring Germany and Switzerland, though – Trust This Human illustrates that it might be worth to spend a night with him on stage.

 

The Kelly Family feat. Ronan Keating – Grateful

This song is an Irish collaboration. Okay, this song is a typical winter time release – the powerful folk track is definitely touching our hearts, doesn’t it?

 

Beyond Frequencies – Under My Skin

Beyond Freqencies is definitely some sort of fusion band. They merge pop and metal elements, the lead artist Mel Schweickardt has Norwegian and German roots and grew up in Switzerland. Great song!

 

Mann Friday – Fight For Me

Mann Friday is a band, which is originally from Zimbabwe, but is nowadays situated in London. They steadily grew their fan base and are now about to release their sixth studio album. Cool sound – good song!

 

Halestorm – Mine

Halestorm are a US hard rock band. They will soon be in Germany, supporting Alter Bridge on the Pawns & Kings tour. I am sure this will be fun.

 

Iggy Pop – Frenzy

Especially in the reflective Christmas weeks, there should always be some space for an Iggy Pop song. You just sometimes have to rock and have fun. Frenzy is a good soundtrack for that.

 

The Lathums – Say My Name

The Lathums were really successful with their debut, now the Greater Manchester alternative rock band is about to prepare for a sophomore one. Say My Name suggests that this might be a good listen.

 

Ashley Singh – Between Love and Lonely

Ashley Singh is an emerging singer-songwriter from East London. His new single is very emotional, very intimate. Nice listen.

 

Apache 207 – Nie mehr gehen

You all know that rap and hip hop are neither the genres I really like nor the ones which frequently made it in here. The more, this means that Apache 207 released an amazing track here. Love it!

 

Upsahl – Into My Body

I introduced you to Upsahl and her music in an April 2022 Spotlight interview. Here is a new track by the US-American artist.

 

Andrea Berg – Viel zu schön um wahr zu sein

One of the really big names of the German schlager business makes it into the playlist this week. Straight track at a high level of quality.

 

Klüngelköpp – Niemols ohne alaaf

The second last track of my Songs of the Week this time are carnival sounds from Cologne. This band is releasing their songs for the new season in parallel to many other regional acts. Have fun!

 

Rednex – Glad Rags Jug

How could this posting close better than with this Swedish guys? More fun and less country-rock touch this time… But they simply make us smile, don’t they?
