Nadu is an German artist, who is living South of Paderborn. After releasing two EPs, she shared her debut album on 30th May 2025. Here is my review of Relevanz (“Relevance”).

Nadu – About The Artist

Nadu is a German artist, who also has Pakistani roots. Apart from music, she is also working as a comedian and show host. Her first major steps were as a pianist. She participated in multiple competitions in childhood and youth years. In 2021, Nadu released her debut single 2, 3 Dinge in 2021. So far, she released two EPs, Paradiesvögel*in (2021) and Fliegen (2024).

Nadu – Relevanz – Track by Track

The ten track album lasts 26 minutes.

1. Das bist alles Du

The opener has been released as a single in April 2025 already. The stanzas are a bit of slow, but the rhythmic and energetic chorus leads to a really nice catch. I just don’t get used to modern pop songs, which just take 2:10 minutes. But it is a nice way.

2. Danke

Ich soll mich bedanken für all Deine Worte (“I shall thank for all your words”) are the opening lyrics of Danke (“Thanks”). Later, Nadu asks Ist das die Liebe, von der alle sprachen? (“Is that the love everybody talked about?”). The song about all the hassle in a toxic relationship has indeed a nice groove.

3. Nur bei Nacht

“Solely during the Night” is the (translated) title of the third song. The song partially comes with rather straight mainstream pop vibes, but also shows some indie-pop attitude here and there. The nice speed of the track turns it into a really nice listen.

4. Lost

Wir sind lost, babe, Generation Lost are the opening words of the fourth track. The song has a dark and thoughtful touch, but also reminds of hip hop. Nadu nicely plays with the struggle of her generation in the lyrics and puts it into a very characteristic song.

5. Deja-vu

The hip hop vibes, contrasting with pop melodies, continue and define the fifth song as well. Thereby, Nadu creates a nice leverage of good beats, a nice groove, but also catching melodies. I am typically not too enthusiastic about that style modern pop music, but the German artist is doing her Deja-vu really nicely.

6. Abschied

The piano, some decent drumming and Nadu’s voice – that’s all elements Abschied (“Farewell”) needs at the beginning. The song feels to be a ballad initially, but is rather a slow and emotional pop track finally. Nonetheless, I really love that the song and the feeling it adds to Relevanz.

7. Relevanz

The following 2:30 minutes are taken by the title track. The song is a straight hip hop song with very little melodic sections. An impressively arranged song, even though it is not on my list of favorites.

8. Nein

Nein is a song dealing with the current asylum politics. The song leads to the key message Wir sagen nein – “We say no”. A song with a strong message and very intense arrangement, which suddenly brakes down and focuses on gentle violin tunes.

9. Willst du?

Ich bin oft einsam obwohl ich nicht alleine bin (“I am lonely often, even though I am not alone”) – who cannot relate to these opening words of Willst du?. Unfortunately, the press kit to the album does not name the male rapper Nadu is collaborating with in here. A really nice pop track.

10. Wie du

The album closes with the indie-pop song Wie Du. Nadu states Ich will einfach so wie Du sein – “I simply want to be like you”. The song has a slightly rocking and hard attitude and thus features some impact at the end of the listen.

Nadu – Relevanz – My View

Nadu’s debut Relevanz is really fun to listen. The German artist features a wide range of songs, which overall leads to a very entertaining experience. The wide range of tunes featured in the album might also mean that you don’t love each and every song, but you will definitely find your faves.

Favorite Song: Nur bei Nacht
