Burj Khalifa NYE Fireworks from Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City

During our stay in Dubai, my wife stayed during the New Year’s Eve 2024 celebrations at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City. We initially aimed for a stay in Abu Dhabi, but then decided rather late to stay in Dubai. One factor was were the options offered to enjoy the change of the year. We had an excellent evening with great views of the fireworks of Burj Khalifa. Here is my Pictured Story about it.

 

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City – Location & New Year’s Eve Celebrations

The Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City is located right South of the Southern part of the Dubai Creek. I introduced you to the hotel in detail in my review already. A key feature of the hotel is that parts of the hotel have direct, unobstructed view of Burj Khalifa. I have taken you to the viewing deck and the amazing afternoon tea on the iconic building already.  The other hotels in the same complex, the Al Habtoor Palace and the V Hotel Dubai, do not have that view. The direct distance between the hotel and the world-famous skyscraper is roughly 2.4 kilometers.

With the three hotels in one building complex and numerous clubs and bars, the Hilton and its partner hotels have a lot to offer for New Year’s Eve. For example, you can enjoy a show at the La Perle theater and have dinner thereafter. We went for an arrangement at the outdoor area of the Ribs & Brews restaurant. The equivalent package is offered in 2025 as well. The price for the outdoor seating including house beverages is 649 AED (plus taxes, roughly 150 EUR) per person. The area is more or less exclusive to people who reserved an outdoor table. There are also packages including the stay in the major indoor space of the restaurant – these do not offer the same quality view, though. You have to pay the full price at reservation. It includes house beverages, which includes wine, beer and basic spirits. There is also the same package with premium beverages (799 AED) and sparkling beverages (949 AED). Food is not included, you order from the menu.

This posting concentrates on the Burj Khalifa firework. Nonetheless, here are some notes about the service at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City in 2024. The view, as you see in the pictures, was absolutely amazing. The staff was great, food and beverage service was quick (even though beverages were already included). The food there is very good as well. Before the fireworks, the hotel management brought some business partners and some (obvious) influencers to the place. Overall and after some discussion, they behaved very respectful, so that they just had limited impact on the experience.

The Burj Khalifa show is named to last about an hour. This includes minor fireworks you just can spot from the Dubai Mall area and the light show on the building. Nonetheless, the in fact firework show takes roughly 20 minutes and is thus quite impressing.

As you see on the pictures, the firework offers quite a wide variety and is really impressing. Some of the streets around are closed before the fireworks (including the Sheikh Zayed Road highway!), so that we more and more felt happy to beat the masses and the chaotic traffic and have a very comfortable and relaxed view of the show. Another nice feature was that – despite having some alcohol on that day – you just had a short walk from the restaurant to the hotel room. Thus, we absolutely loved the experience – and watched how the streets around are step by step re-opened some one hour after the change of the year.
