Rusty Stone - Ramblin' Man
Flyctory.com Pros
- Nice songwriting and storytelling
- Versatile, acoustically dominated album
It’s quite a while since I featured Rusty Stone the first time on Flyctory.com. In December 2021, almost exactly four years ago. I introduced him to you in a Spotlight interview. At that time, he had just released a new album, The Blues In Me. Now the German artist is back with a new album. On 12th December 2025, he is sharing his new record, Ramblin’ Man. Here is my review.
Rusty Stone – About The Artist
Rusty Stone is a German blues artist from Munich. His music is also influenced by other Americana genres like country. As The Case, he already released a record in the late 1980’s. Thereby, Ramblin’ Man rather connects to his solo live shows, where, he is often performing with a typical fingerpicking style. His 2025 album is majorly acoustic and has been mixed and mastered by Rusty Stone himself in Switzerland.
Rusty Stone – Ramblin’ Man – Track by Track
The twelve song album lasts 40 minutes

1. Ramblin’ Man
The album kicks off with the title track. With 4:40 minutes Ramblin’ Man is also the longest track on the record. The instrumental solos give a wonderful blues vibe, while the vocal parts also have some country music vibes. The virtuosity of the artist and his characteristic voice lead to a very entertaining listen.
2. My Heart Belongs The Blues
My Heart Belongs The Blues – already the title of this song feels promising. The song spreads a nice groove from the very beginning. I like country and I like soul. I like folk and bluegrass, too. But my heart belongs the blues – this clear message comes right at the beginning of the track. And you feel the desire and love for the genre throughout the song. A beautiful, handmade sound by the German artist. Very good one!
3. Goin‘ Back
I am goin’ back to the blues – another musical love letter to Rusty’s main genre is following right afterwards. This time, the intense harmonica presence and the groovy bass line are defining the sound of the song. Another definite highlight of the album.
4. Wicked And Wild
Wicked and Wild comes with an easy melody, which here and there even reminds me of a children’s song. However, especially the instrumental parts underline the musical quality of the German artist and his music. Despite the song is one of the shortest of the album (2:29 minutes), it has a nice storyline.
5. Boogie Shoes
For the fifth song, Rusty Stone is putting on his Boogie Shoes. Indeed, the song has a good, rhythmic vibe. No matter if you wear boots and Boogie Shoes, this song might catch and make you move.
6. Have Fun Tonight
The stripped down, acoustic style combined with the fast, rhythmic signature of Have Fun Tonight indeed leads to a fun listen. The song spreads rock’n’roll spirit and combines it with Rusty’s typical blues elements. I would love to explore this song live on stage.
7. Nothing To Regret
Three songs on Ramblin’ Man are longer than four minutes. Nothing To Regret is one of them. There is a bit of Western music spirit in this one, while the song strikes with its narrative style and storytelling. The chorus comes with a nicely flowing melody. Another good one.
8. Dirty Blues
On the one hand, Dirty Blues has a lovely melody. On the other, it comes with very surprising elements – I don’t want to disclose too much in here. Overall, this leads to the this song making me smile during the listen. I am sure you will have your smiling moments while listening as well. It’s hilarious.
9. Ride On
Ride on, ride on, enjoy this song, Rusty Stone is stating in this one. The longer duration of the ninth song is well invested into beautiful lyrical elements again. The song has a beautiful personal touch. Music is a medicine for the rich and the poor is another quite from this song – and Rusty continues with It heals everything to emphasize on it. Music is the artist’s love. And songs like this one don’t leave a doubt about it.
10. Don’t Change Me
Don’t change me – and I won’t change you – the Ramlin’ Man album comes with straight messages – like the one of this song. The song is a nice treat for guitar music lovers – Rusty Stone shows some excellent melodies in here. Overall, the sound of this track si a bit rougher. This adds a nice flavor to the album.
11. Shake And Groove
It’s already the penultimate track of the album – and the German is asking you to Shake And Groove. Indeed, this one is a groovy, rhythmic song. There is a high potential that you agree to the request of the musician.
12. Spanish Dream
The brief, 2:11 minute Spanish Dream closes Ramblin’ Man. It is a fine, dreaming melody, which is working out beautifully as an instrumental track. A nice way to fade out the album.
Rusty Stone – Ramblin’ Man – Spotify
I will add the Spotify widget once the album has been published. For the time being, it is only available as physical copy.
Rusty Stone – Ramblin’ Man – My View
Ramblin’ Man is a really nice homage to the blues. Rusty Stone shows beautiful melodies as well as good, relatable stories. Thus, the album is definitely a nice option, for blues lovers, as well as for Americana and singer-songwriter fans.
