Having an 11:40 flight from Krakow Airport (KRK) in July 2023, I just did not feel to go for the commute on a Sunday morning. Instead, I opted to go for the Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport, which is the only airport hotel really next to the terminal building. Here is my review of my night in Poland.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport – Location

Hilton Krakow Airport is located right across the airport terminal There is a covered walkway, which connects the hotel to the security level as well as to the Krakow Airport Train. However, you can also simply walk underneath it and are thus protected against rain. There are no shops other than the ones provided by the airport. There is also a Hampton Inn hotel not too far from Krakow Airport (KRK) – it requires quite a walk, though.

The traffic situation is excellent, as you can easily use all traffic connections. Apart from the train, there are two bus line, which are even included in the normal Krakow public transport ticket. Train travel time to the city center is some 20 minutes. However, the scattered services don’t turn the Hilton Garden Inn into a good option to explore the lovely city of Krakow.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport – Room

I booked a King Room in July 2023, Saturday to Sunday. The rate was 486.43 PLN, rougjly 109 EUR. My Hilton Diamond Status granted me free breakfast. Furthermore, the hotel upgraded me into a One Bedroom Suite on the fourth (and thus: top) floor. I was absolutely amazed by the room, which even featured a small guest bathroom next to the entrance. The first room you enter was the living room, which was really large and comfy. I would have loved to have the work desk there as well (which was in the sleeping area) – but that’s really all you can criticize. This part of the suite also featured a kitchenette with a large fridge and a microwave oven (no oven, no cooking plates), which is a great feature if you stay there for a longer period. This area also features the coffee machine. The room is facing the tracks of the Krakow Airport Train and thus was rather on the quiet side (the opposite side is facing the airport). I did not even hear the trains leaving and approaching from my room.

The sleeping room has been really comfy as well, with a large king bed and the large work desk. I absolutely enjoyed it. The ensuite bathroom was lovely, featuring a large shower and a separate bathtub. I feel that overall, this has been the best room I have ever been in at a Hilton Garden Inn hotel.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport – Breakfast

The restaurant is located opposite to the lobby. Polish breakfast buffets are often very nice and feature a nice range of dishes – and so was the one at the Hiilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport. I really enjoyed the selection and quality of food, including the waffles and a love made on demand omelette. The staff was very attentive as well.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport – Service

I had a great stay in that Krakow hotel – and this definitely included the staff. The receptionist at check-in was lovely and made me feel very welcome. Also in later interaction with the Hilton Garden Inn people, I strongly felt their passion and their hospitality. The hotel is having a nice gym. Furthermore, the WiFi in the hotel worked very well.

 

Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport – My View

The Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport has been an absolute surprise. I did not expect to have such a good stay at such a good location. The hotel definitely became one of my favorite airport hotels just by staying this night in July 2023. A great performance, especially if you look at the value for money.
