My July 2024 tennis trip to Newport, Rhode Island, featured quite a range of different hotels. I spent the first night in Warwick, Rhode Island, close to T.F. Green Airport (PVD), the airport of Providence. The area of the Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn was quite familiar to me. I had stayed in the Hampton Inn & Suites next door before for Weird Al Yankovic tour-chasing. Here is my review.
Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn – Location
The hotel is quite ideally located. It is right next to highway US-1 and just a short connector road drive away from the I-95 Interstate. T.F. Green International Airport is just half a mile away from the hotel grounds. There are a couple of other hotels around, including the Hilton Group one I mentioned above. However, there are not that many restaurants and shops around the hotel. You rather find them in the towns around the hotel.
The hotel is definitely a place mostly visited if you have a car. Nonetheless, you might even do it without it as the Providence/Stoughton Line trains stop in very close distance, at the TF Green Airport station. There are also buses in the area. The hotel also drives a shuttle service for the airport.
Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn – Room
I had one night in the hotel in July 2024. The flexible member right for a King Room, including breakfast, was 162.89 USD, including all taxes. It was a one night stay from Saturday to Sunday. It definitely had a nice size. For North American relations, it was not that noisy (walls are simply thinner in the US than in Europe, though). The design of the room is not the most modern one, but it was functional, also coming with a fridge and a microwave. Especially as it is an airport hotel, I really liked having two luggage racks in the room. Everything in the living and sleeping area was definitely fit for purpose.
The sink, and hair dryer are located in the entrance area of the room, so that the bathroom itself only features the toilet and the shower with a North American-style bathtub. I actually liked the design of the bathroom better and was also rather happy to see that more and more hotel chains move to amenities in dispensers. This also means you get body wash / shower gel instead of soap for the shower. There were minor maintenance issues in the room, but nothing which was really striking or disturbing. The room was absolutely clean.
Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn – Breakfast
The breakfast provided complimentary was a typical North American one. I love having a pancake machine, there were also some warm dishes and a selection of fruit. The selection of breads was a bit thin. However, therefor there was a quite nice selection of pastries. Thus, the morning performance of the Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn was absolutely in line with expectations.
Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn – Service
The check-in was slightly less friendly and welcoming than I am used to that in North American hotels. Nonetheless, the reception desk was overall nice. The hotel does drive a gym, which – as you see in the pictures below – at least fulfills your basic exercise needs. WiFi in the hotel worked out well.
Best Western Providence Warwick Airport Inn – My View
I would definitely not say I was overwhelmed by the Best Western hotel. However, compared to its Hilton peer next door, it was definitely an upgrade. If you have a flight connection, which requires an overnight, or just simply look for a reasonable and affordable accommodation with free parking, it is an absolutely solid choice.
