Bring Your Own Beer – the name of this German band indeed stays in your mind. On 18th September 2026, they release their debut album Out Of Style. I had the opportunity having a listen beforehand.

Bring Your Own Beer – About The Artists

Bring Your Own Beer are a four member new age blues rock band from Marl in the Northern Ruhrgebiet. The band has been founded in 2018. So far, there have been two EP releases. In 2020, they shared Between Road’n Heaven, while Royal Bluff has been shared two years later. The single Sinner (2020) lead to quite some popularity in regional charts. The quartet consists for singer Christian Reclik, bassist Philipp Pfetzing, guitarist Florian Putz and drummer Finn Wenzel.

Bring Your Own Beer – Out of Style – Track by Track

The eleven song album lasts 39 minutes.

1. The Bill

Bring Your Own Beer start their debut album with one of the two songs they shared before album release. The Bill is a straight blues rocker with a good punch from the guitar side. The drums drive the song with a good speed and rhythm. The Bill is definitely a promising opener.

2. Skyline

Skyline has a stronger groove than the opener. Nonetheless, rock music fans will like this track as well. Bring Your Own Beer show a nice, powerful performance in this song again.

3. I’m good

The other single release of Out Of Style so far is I’m good. Again, the Germans raise the blues level, there is also a stronger focus on Christian Reclik and his vocals. The instrumental parts like the bridge are fine blues rock, though. Another really pleasing listening experience.

4. Lucid dreams

With Lucid Dreams, Bring Your Own Beer present a darker side of their music. Especially the groovy style of the chorus have a slightly gruesome touch. Different songs, different moods – so far, the band shares a really nice songbook..

5. Raise your glasses

Raise your glasses, if you want – songs like this are definitely made for the stage. I am sure that the band’s fans have some sips and sing with the quartet during this song. This party rock track definitely makes me smile – Cheers!

6. Girl you gonna give me

In case your glasses are not empties during the previous three minutes – here is the overtime. The album presents another party rock song, which catches the listener and leads to fun vibes. Again, Bring Your Own Beer keep a certain style, but provide a lot of musical energy.

7. Different road

I’m on a different road – the seventh track takes a clear step towards blues rock again. The narrative style of Reclik’s vocals work out very well, with some alternating styles leading to a nice variety. Overall, this is the basis for an entertaining listen.

8. Not enough

While most of the songs on Out Of Style work with the force and energy of electric guitars, this one is more gentle. Not enough opens with strumming acoustic six strings. Here and there, the ballad-esque song has a touch of folk and singer-songwriter music. I really like it.

9. Take it easy

No, this is not a cover versions of the The Eagles classic. Especially the chorus rather reminds me of the county-rock style of The BossHoss, one of the finest German rocking country acts. However, there is a finer touch of blues in Take It Easy, which is overall a comparably slow and laid back song.

10. Out of style

The title track of Bring Your Own Beer’s debut album is definitely its most special one. Out of Style comes with a duration of over five minutes. The song invests this time into an extended instrumental intro. Overall, this epic track is the showcase for the band members, there are just comparably short vocal parts. Nice.

11. Spring time end

With Spring time end, the album is coming to and end. It is the second song, for which the band is focusing on acoustic guitars. This leads to a very personal touch while listening to this beauty.

Bring Your Own Beer – Out of Style – My View

When I had a brief listen of Out of Style on a promotion platform, I already really liked the album. After that deeper listen, Bring Your Own Beer did not disappoint me at all. Groovy blues rock, party songs and more quiet moments – this record has it all in stock. And thus, I absolutely like it.

Favorite Song: Raise Your Glasses
