Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 5th July 2024)

This week, my Songs of the Week are full of pop tracks. There is a lot of sports coverage on Flyctory.com currently (which will keep on until later July). Also, the list of songs is rather short this week again – might be because of the vacation season is more and more kicking off. Enjoy my favorite new (non-country) releases of this week!

Keano Lee – I Would’ve Loved You (Yesterday)

Keano Lee is a young pop singer-songwriter from Stuttgart. His father is a music producer. He lived in London for one and finally released his first single Holy in early April this year. I Would’ve Loved You (Yesterday) is just his third single release overall.

Only The Poets – Mindset

The second song on my list is the new song release by the British indie-pop band Only The Poets. After their EP One More Night worked out quite well (with a Top 5 spot in the Austrian charts), this one is another catching release.

Finnigan – Nie Mehr

Finnigan is a young German artist from Munich. He started to release his German pop songs last year. In September, he is releasing his debut album. Nice one!

Peter Maffay – Mein Wort

German rock and pop legend Peter Maffay is currently on his We Love Rock’n’Roll farewell tour. Mein Wort is the new song he is sharing with the fans on stage – and now also as a single release. A typical Maffay track – I really it.

Die Liga der gewöhnlichen Gentlemen – Ich geh lieber allein

Ich geh lieber allein (“I rather walk alone”) is a musical reply to Gerry & The Pacemakers You’ll never walk alone. Who could write this kind of song better than Die Liga der gewöhnlichen Gentlemen? I really like this band – not only as they collaborated with Andreas Dorau in the past.

Laura & Mark – Liebe Kennt Keine Grenzen

Laura & Mark are a Dutch-German duo, which is doing a mixture of pop, schlager and country music. A bit of kitschy, but a really cool song, I like it! They come with almost 300k followers on Facebook.

Laura Del Fiore – Terrible

Laura del Fiore is a young singer-songwriter from Austria. Her modern pop track Terrible is just her fourth single release overall. I really like it.

Drenchill, Thirdlife & Selah – Gravity

Drenchill is a Portuguese DJ. Together with Canadian Thirdlife and Selah, he released the dance track Gravity this week. A catching listen.

Ayo – Stronger

My Songs of the Week this week close with three rather slow and calm songs. The first one is by Ayo, a German singer from Frechen near Cologne. Her father is Nigerian. Stronger is a lovely soulful release. Ayo is on tour in October 2024.

Breymer – Darkness

Breymer is the artist name of Sarah Walk. The US-American artist is originally from Minnesota. This week, she released the double single Wrong Path and Darkness. I preferred the second song more.

Tina Söllner – Angekommen

The last song in my this week’s post is Angekommen, a lovely schlager-pop ballad by Tina Söllner. The German artist already supported major domestic acts like Matthias Reim or Maite Kelly.

The official video of this song will be released the day after this post is released.
