I typically solely review EPs and albums right before or at the weekend these are released. However, when I ran into A Drake Milligan Christmas, I felt that I have to make an exception. The Christmas EP by the US American artist had been released on 9th October 2026 already. However, I just did not feel like it is the right time for holiday feelings. Some early Christmas cookies later, I felt that I can now expose you with Drake’s Santa Clause vibes. Hope you enjoy my belated review of his third EP overall.

Drake Milligan – About The Artist

Drake Milligan is a country and country swing artist. The music by the artist born on 1st June 1998 in Arlington, Texas, is thereby rather traditional. For example, he names Merle Haggard as inspiration to his music. In 2021, he already released a Christmas song, Cowgirls for Christmas. It is featured on this EP. I reviewed his sophomore EP Jukebox Songs (2024). There are two Drake Milligan albums, Dallas/Fort Worth (2022) and Tumbleweed (2025). I recently featured two Drake Milligan shows, one in September 2025, one in February 2025, both in Cologne, Germany.

The five track EP lasts 16 minutes.

1. Silver Bells

The EP starts with the song, which has become especially popular in the Dean Martin version. Drake Milligan adds country vibes to it, without loosing the Christmas spirit. That’s indeed fun listening to and nicely suits into his song portfolio. The opener is definitely promising.

2. It Ain’t Really Christmas

The EP continues with It Ain’t Really Christmas. The song has a calm, laid back style which combines typical Christmas music elements with country vibes. The warmth and love at the holiday can be felt nicely. It’s a good choice for Christmas playlist, indeed.

3. Sleigh Ride

The holiday classic Sleigh Ride is clearly increasing the speed of the album. Drake Milligan is closer to traditional recordings of the song, but adds country vibes with elements like the steel guitar. So far, Drake is giving us nice festive vibes.

4. Here Comes Santa Claus

The fourth song is another classic on your holiday playlist. Again, Drake Milligan is presenting a rather speedy interpretation of the song, the bridge is a lot of fun and will make his fans smile. Nice one!

5. Cowgirl For Christmas

As stated above, Drake Milligan released this song in 2021 already. This song is closest to typical Drake Milligan vibes and even features some very traditional elements like yodeling. Also in his final song, Drake Milligan makes me smile.

Drake Milligan kicks off the Christmas season of country musicians in style. While other artists might still carve pumpkins, he is already sharing four nice new festive tracks and a fan favorite. He definitely made me look forward to the Christmas tree with these five tracks.
