  • Short routes to office and parking
  • Very friendly, efficient service
  • Very nice car

My Six US States and Nashville trip in June 2025 started and ended in Evansville in Indiana. Naturally for a road trip, I grabbed a rental car at Evansville Airport (EVV). For that trip, I opted to rent with Alamo. Here is the review of my rental car experience.

Alamo Evansville Airport (EVV) – The Rental

I had a ten day rental with Alamo in Evansville in late May / June 2025. The rate booked through a German agency was done at a non-public rate. Thereby, the key motivation flying to Evansville (EVV) was that flights to Nashville (BNA) were significantly more expansive. My rental was on the ICAR class, a typical car is a Toyota Corolla. I received a Nissan Sentra.

Alamo Evansville Airport (EVV) – Location & Office

The rental car offices at Evansville Airport (EVV) are located right opposite of the luggage belts. Evansville (EVV) does not have international flight facilities, so that this applies for all incoming flights. Due to that convenience, I could even grab the car keys before I grabbed my suitcases from the luggage belt. The rental car office opens daily between 8:00 and 9:00, depending on the airport’s schedule, and closes at 23:30.

Alamo Evansville Airport (EVV) – Receiving The Car

Receiving the car was a very friendly and efficient process. Despite it was a travel agency, i.e. a voucher booking, all the paperwork was done and the keys were handed over right when my suitcases popped up at the American Airlines luggage belt. It was already quite late when I arrived there, around 23:00. The more I appreciated the fast service. The car park is a short, covered, walk out of the terminal. It takes some two minutes getting to the rental cars parking lot. From arriving at the office to sitting in the car, it was thus not more than ten minutes. If you compare that to major airports, especially in the United States, this was absolutely amazing and I loved it after a long intercontinental connection.

Alamo Evansville Airport (EVV) – Returning The Car

Returning the car went as smoothly as receiving it. You drive pass the terminal and leave the car in the same parking lot. I had a small scar on the rear right side, caused by hitting a branch on the road in Muscle Shoals. This had been checked by the staff immediately and they decided it is no damage they will charge me for. I was very thankful for that.

The Car – Nissan Sentra

The car I received was a Nissan Sentra. Coming with 25,000 miles, it was in perfect condition and a great choice for my trip. I had no issues with it.

Alamo Evansville Airport (EVV) – My View

Fast processing times, great and friendly service and a good car – that’s what makes a great car rental. Alamo at Evansville Airport (EVV) hit all of these categories. The rental also underlined the advantage of renting at a smaller airport. In major locations, you typically go for a shuttle bus to a rental car center, stay in line, have some walk through a major parking garage and find yourself in a labyrinth of roads before in fact leaving the airport grounds. None of that applied to my rental in Indiana – and this is why I loved it.
