Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 9th August 2024)

This edition of my Songs of the Week feels like a ballad edition. There are a lot of gentle and emotional song releases I really liked this week. However, rock and dance pop fans will also find some nice listens.

Dean Lewis & Sasha Alex Sloan – Rest

The leading song this week is coming from Australia. Dean Lewis is teasing is upcoming album, which is released in October, with this song. For Rest, he is collaborating with US-American singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan. Simply beautiful.

Lori – Ich geh mit mir

The slow song by Lori has a lot of episodes, which are very close to Nena’s Leuchtturm. However, the new version recorded as a piano ballad by the German pop artist from Berlin has a very own and personal touch.

Leon Bridges – Peaceful Place

The third song on my list is Peaceful Place by US-American artist Leon Bridges. The Grammy Award winning musician teases his new album with this song. It will be released on 4th October 2024. Cool vibes with a lot of emotions.

Chance Pena – Is What It Is

Chance Pena is another artist from the South of the United States. Is What It Is is a lovely folk-style ballad In October, he is heading to Europe for his tour (see my tour date overview). This song promises a lovely evening.

Sophie Chassee – Stars

Sophie Chassee is known as the live bassist of the German band AnnenMayKantereit. However, her solo music is definitely worth listening to as well. The fingerstyle guitar style beautifully fits to song Stars. I absolutely love this one. There are a lot of tour dates this year all over Germany.

Max Mutzke – California Spider

The German artist and 2004 Eurovision Song Contest participant Max Mutzke shared his new song with us this week. California Spider has the characteristic Max Mutzke signature. A cool and groovy track, which will also be part of his album XX, released on 11th October 2024.

Shawn Mendes – Why Why Why

The Canadian pop icon Shawn Mendes will release his fifth studio album Shawn soon. The first single release from this album is Why Why Why. A lovely pop song with folk music vibes.

Snow Patrol – All

It’s just a couple of weeks until Snow Patrol share their new album The Forest Is The Path (release date: 13th September 2024). The British rockers from Glasgow show a very emotional and personal side on their new single All.

Bunch of Ace – Apple Tree

I already introduced you to the music of Bunch of Ace in my 21st June 2024 Songs of the Week. The teenage German twins this time add a bit more pop to their song. Nonetheless, it is simply beautiful listening to them.

Juli Gilde – Wieso Eigentlich?

Twenty year old Juli Gilde released her new single this week. The Berlin-based artist wrote Wieso Eigentlich? together with Wir sind Helden member Jean-Michel Tourette. You feel the vibes of that band in the song as well.

Anna Herz – Frieden für die Welt

Is there anything we need more than Frieden für die Welt (“Peace for the World”). Anna Herz is singing the stanzas in different languages. Listen to German, English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian lyrics in this song.

ClockClock – Someday Soon

The electronic pop band from Mannheim released the groovy Someday Soon this week. Cool vibes by the 2017-founded band, who sold out their recent tour.

Joya Marleen – I Think I’m in Love

Joya Marleen is a Swiss pop artist. Her I Think I’m in Love will definitely be a highlight on her current tour. In October, she is supporting the Mighty Oaks on their tour.

Sarah Zucker – Cabriolet

There is also a small schager section in my Songs of the Week this time. Sarah Zucker is opening it with her new single Cabriolet. The song is having a nice touch – really like it.

Marie Reim – Heartbreak

Another schlager track this week is Marie Reim’s Heartbreak. I feel that she is going back to an individual style with this song. Thus, I really enjoyed listening to it.

Cloudy June – Big Girls Don’t Cry

Big Girls Don’t Cry a nice pop song from the Berlin-based singer-songwriter Cloudy June. A really cool track with a very present melody – a treat for pop fans.

SANZ – EneMy

Let’s kick off with the guitars! The German dark rock band has released their new song EneMy on Friday. A really cool and intense listen!

Tremonti – Just Too Much

The Orlando-based metal band Tremonti are already looking back to quite a musical history. The band named after their lead Mark Tremonti even featured Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang in the past. This week, they released their new track Just Too Much.
