Flyctory.com Pros

  • Strong messages and lyrics
  • Versatile, very fluent listen

Flyctory.com Cons

  • Slightly stereotypical sound

As I am connected to German promotion platforms, I typically get quite a lot of new schlager releases. I filter out quite a lot of them. However, I do appreciate some artists. One of them is Anna-Carina Woitschack, who I featured with her 2024 album Meine Zeit already. Quite exactly one year after that record, on 22nd August 2025, she is releasing her new album Abenteuerlust. I felt like taking you to that genre again. The album is her eighth one overall.

Anna-Carina Woitschack – About The Artist

Anna-Carina Woitschack is a German artist from Helmstedt in Lower Saxony. She became popular by placing eighth in the 2011 season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German equivalent to America’s Got Talent. Her family has a background in driving a puppet theater. One year after her talent show appearance, she released her debut album Einzigartig. In the mid-2010’s, she managed to place her first records in the German charts. Her last three albums made it to the Top 10 in Germany. Meine Zeit also peaked ninth in Austria.

Anna-Carina Woitschack – Abenteuerlust – Track by Track

The fourteen song album lasts 44 minutes.

1. Du ja du

The opener to Abenteuerlust is a typical schlager track. The song is about still longing to be with your ex. The song is on the basic and simple side (including the title “You Yes You”), but this does lead to a catching and easy to digest listen as well. Thus, the single release is a good low-level gate opener into this set of fourteen tracks.

2. Liebe war nicht das Problem

The title of the second track translates to “Love has not been the problem”. Again, Woitschack sings about heartache, relationship struggle and trying to fall in love into someone who is taken. The song is a bit slower, the stereotypical synth pop sounds are much more decent than in the song before. This leads to a nice focus on Woitschack’s voice and the story of the track. I like it.

3. Spring mit mir

After two rather melancholic topics, Spring mit mir is a rather uplifting track. Woitschack asks Komm spring mit mir ins Lebens (“Come, jump with me into life”) and does not only catch the protagonist of this track with that. A really nice and good listen, which absolutely deserved to be picked as one of the feature singles of the album.

4. Vielleicht will ich nur spielen

Schlager can be quite elusive. The first line of this track translates to “Maybe I just want to play tonight”. You guess it, the artist is not inviting a hot guy not just to a round of chess. Du kannst Dich nicht verstecken, die Liebe findet uns sowieso – “You cannot hide, love will find us anyway”. The song comes with a rather typical schlager style. But it is fun listening to Woitschack and this fourth track of Abenteuerlust.

5. Luftballons im Bauch

“I have balloons in my belly” – the love stories on Abenterlust definitely have a more and more positive twist. This one lead to another single release before the album. The song style is this typical synth-pop schlager thing, but the song overall works quite well. The pre-chorus is the core part leading to the intense chorus section.

6. Sie, Du und ich (feat. Jay Khan)

Sie, Du und ich (“She, you and I”) is one of the most interesting songs of the album. One rationale for that is the guest musician. British Jay Khan is best known as member of the boy band US5. However, as he partially lived in Berlin, he is fluent in German and also does schlager track on his own. The duet works out perfectly.

7. Vorbei

Ich weine nicht, sicher nicht um Dich – “I don’t cry, definitely not because of you”. Break-up songs can have a happy mood as well. “La, la, la, it is over”, Woitschack is opening the chorus of this one. A very proud and self-confident song with a nice melodic background leads to a good listen.

8. Was hast du denn gedacht

A long-term friendship is turning into a hot night. Was hast du denn gedacht, was diese Nacht mit uns macht? – “What have you thought what this night is doing with us?”. In the US music industry, this song would definitely receive the explicit lyrics warning. This special night leads to a special, slightly slower song with really nice vibes.

9. Ich freu mich auf das Leben

“No looking back. I look forward to life”. These kind of energetic, motivational songs feel to work best on Anna-Carina Woitschack’s 2025 album. I would love to have a version with less synth and less rhyhtmic elements – a stronger focus on her vocals might make this one even better.

10. Nie verlieren

“We will never loose ourselves”. Love is the topic of schlager, love is the topic of Abtenteuerlust. I’d rather have a bit of variation in that. But finally country music is majorly about cars, girls, the front porch and alcohol as well. Nie verlieren is to me the weakest spot of the album.

11. Frei und wild

The last already featured song of Abenteuerlust is Frei und wild (“Free and wild”). This song is not about love, but about enjoying life, not caring about bad experience and simply enjoy. After the weak spot of the record one of its strongest and most persuading listens is following right afterwards.

12. Ich lebe jetzt

The title Ich lebe jetzt (“I am living now”) suggests that the song directly connects to Frei und wild. Even though the first statement is Du und ich, das ist Geschichte – “You and I, that’s history”, the song is in line with this expectation. A good track with good lyrics and a fine schlager melody.

13. Küss mir nichts vor

It is very hard to translate the title Küss mir nichts vor into English, it means something like “Don’t cheat me while kissing”. The song is more than a filler of the album, but also not one of its highlights. Overall, a nice track.

14. Lass sie reden!

The album closes with the clear message “Let Them Talk”. The song is about bad critics, haters. Das alles, das bin ich, jetzt gewinn’ ich Freiheit – “All that, that’s me, now I am winning freedom” sends a strong message at the end of the album. A very nice final song.

I will add the Spotify widget once the album has been published.

Anna-Carina Woitschack – Abenteuerlust – Track by Track

Anna-Carina Woitschack is one of the most interesting schlager artists to me. I like Abenteuerlust even more than the predecessor album. There are some really strong messages. Here and there, I would love her daring to move away from too much schlager-synth sound – but I am sure that her fans will praise her new album. Very nicely done!

Favorite Song: Was hast Du denn gedacht
