  • Powerful tracks with good lyrics
  • Absolutely fun listen

45 years of LustfingeR – the Southern German punk rockers are one of the longest-lasting bands of their genres in my home country. With the album Original & Unkaputtbar (“Original and Undestroyable”), they celebrate their band anniversary. The album has been released on 15th May 2026.

LustfingeR – About The Artists

LustfingeR have been founded in 1981 in Lohhof, just Northwest of Munich. They did have a couple of changes in their lineup in the meantime, but for the anniversary, they went back to the studio in the original lineup. Namely, these are Michael Schirmeister (vocals), Ziggy Storbeck (bass), Thomas Fock (guitar), and Robert Baier (drums). Only Fock is part of the official nowadays lineup of the band. LustfingeR have released twelve studio albums so far. I shared a review of the most recent one, the 2022 LustfingeR.

LustfingeR – Original & Unkaputtbar – Track by Track

The sixteen song album lasts 46 minutes.

1. Freunde für`s Leben

The opener is the perfect introduction of the band. It deals with the four original members reunited. Doch das was uns verbindet, wird niemals vergehen (“But what connects us will never fade”). Finally, they are Freunde für’s Leben (“Friends for life”). And this leads to a punk rock track many listeners will be able to relate to – and reflect very own memories.

2. Schwarz Rot Gold

“Black, Red, Gold”, the second song teases the colors of the German national flag. A typical punk rock song opposition nationalist tendencies in Germany. Ich leb’ jetzt, heute, nicht im Deutschen Reich – “I live today, now, not in the German Reich”, they state in the lyrics. A clear message with forceful energy. Not a bad one, but Freunde für’s Leben feels to stay stronger  in my mind.

3. Ich bin immer noch bereit

“I am still ready” is the message of the third song. LustfingeR postulates that 45 years might not be the end. The song comes with a nice sway and really nice work on the guitars. Not that punk-alike, compared to other songs on the album, but Ich bin immer noch bereit is a really nice listen.

4. Abschiedsparty

After this message, they deal with the “Farewell Party”. Right at the beginning of the song, Schirmeister introduces that he is imagining his own funeral. The song starts as a party song. However, the 2:17 minutes has a break in the bridge, before the party goes on. And LustfingeR make me smile with this imagination.

5. Die Welt dreht durch

“The World is going bonkers” – that’s what the next song is about. The song is dealing with nowadays society, in which people somehow feel to support the development. The song is very catchy and comes with a clear message. Despite all the critics, the song has a nice ease and feels fun listening to. That’s what punk is all about – and LustfingeR delivers the genre in high quality, even in their fifth decade.

6. Wir sind immer noch die Alten geblieben

“We are old, fat, lazy and smell, but stayed the same” – already in the first lines, the Southern Germans send another clear message in their anniversary. They won’t change, no matter what other feel. The lyrics almost feel like traditional British humor. While the old punk farts rock, I just cannot prevent smiling. From having bags under their eyes to taking big loads of Viagra, they somehow turn these bad things about getting old into a funny mesage.

7. Die letzte Runde

The seventh song starts with a strumming guitar and leads into a slow, rather emotional, ballad-style track. Es ist besser, heute hier zu sein, als auf dem Friedhof unter einem Stein – “It is better being here than on the cemetery under a stone”. They celebrate the situation in which they are today. Ich seh noch immer diesen jungen Punk, er hat sich nicht verändert, Gott sei Dank – “I still see this young punk. He did not change, for God’s sake”. Later they state that real heroes never die – and this sing along ballad is heroic, indeed.

8. Abschaum

After these rather calm three minutes, the guitars are roaring again at Abschaum (“Scum”). The person is another social-critic song. The song is about deals with animal abuse and other respectless behavior. The song is rather short, but leaves a mark.

9. Alles schon gesagt

“We always knew it”. The song is dealing with changes in life, and nobody is caring about them. Alles schon gesagt does not leave a that strong message, compared to other songs on the album. However, the song is an enjoyable listen, especially if you like rather traditional punk vibes – which became a little bit more gentle over the years.

10. Irma La Douce

The tenth song takes you to the red light district. It is about lust and the fascination for the business. Irma La Douce thereby praises the work of the female sex workers. Doch ich, ich verehre Dich – “But I, I honor you”, the punk rockers state in the lyrics. The song has dark sides as well. Very nice storytelling combined with an intense atmosphere lead to a very interesting listen.

11. Du und ich

The title of the eleventh song translates to “You and I”. The song is about love, being bound together and facing challenges together. Thereby the song comes with a straight melodic style, a lot of instrumental energy and a catching chorus. I am sure this one is heating up the crowds on one of LustfingeR’s next concerts.

12. Gallionsfigur

In this episode of Original & Unkaputtbar, The metaphoric song takes you into the maritime world. Despite of all challenges, storms and high waves, the pirates are ready. Another song which does not feel that punk-alike, but is simply a lovely listen with a lot of fun.

13. Punkklamotten

Punkklamotten has been one of two songs released before the album. Unfortunately, I could not find a video to it. The “Punker Clothes” are already hidden deep in the wardrobe, but the soul is not changing. A song with a great catch, which feels to fit perfectly to Original & Unkaputtbar.

14. Bad Moon Rising

Bad Moon Rising – yeah, these 2:17 minute are indeed a cover of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic. It is more rocking, feels faster (even though it is just four seconds shorter than the original). And LustfingeR transform it to a perfect party track in their very own musical sphere. A very nice one.

15. Bereit für die Neuzeit feat. Pamp

For the penultimate song, the Munich band has teamed up with the Garden Gang singer Pamp. The song adds a very different flavor to the album, feels fast and energetic. “Welcome to the Modern Era” they state – even though the song has a quite nostalgic flavor.

16. Hasta La Vista

Hasta La Vista – what a perfect title for a farewell track. The original band is saying good bye with a party track looking back at all the good times and first steps of the band history. A great finale.

LustfingeR – Original & Unkaputtbar – My View

Original & Unkaputtbar – the title of the album feels like a perfect choice. It feels nostalgic, even though it is more wise than LustfingeR in their early days. The album is powerful, cheeky and covers a wide range of topics. Here and there, the four original members divert a bit from punk rock – but this rather leads to a more enjoyable listen. A really good statement after 45 years of band history.

Favorite Song: Hasta La Vista
