With Rotana joining GHA Discovery in 2026, I just had to give this brand a try. For my trip to Dubai in early 2026, I was looking for a basic, reliable accommodation with car park. I guessed that I will work or sleep most of the time, so that I rather went fot an economic option. I finally opted for the Centro Barsha by Rotana. Here is my review.

Centro Barsha By Rotana – Location & Access

Barsha is a rather basic district South of the Mall of the Emirates. I really like the area. First of all, there is a vast range of restaurants, shops and services around. Secondly, the large mall is an easy, maybe 500 meter walk away from the hotel, offering additional shopping, entertainment and dining options. The hotel can be easily accessed from the East as well. This deemed being very helpful, as the Sheikh Zayed Road is typically rather congested, especially during weekends.

Underneath the hotel, there is a two level parking garage. The garage is self-parking (i.e. no valet), which I typically prefer. If you opt for public transport, there is a bus stop (lines F33, F35, stop Veterinary Clinic) right in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the next Dubai Metro station, Insurance Market, is roughly 500 meters.

Centro Barsha By Rotana – The Room

I had two nights at the Centro Barsha by Rotana, Thursday to Saturday in January 2026. I originally booked a Studio Room at a flexible rate. However, my GHA Titanium status gave me an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The total price was 1,355 AED, roughly 309 EUR. I partially paid by Discovery Dollars / GHA point. The living room was rather spacious and even featured a kitchinette-alike area, featuring a sink and a microwave oven and bar-alike seating. There was no dishes or cutlery in the room, though, apart from glasses. The large sofa was also very cozy. I also liked the layout of the room.

The bedroom was also very spacious and featured a large work desk. The work desk in the living room unfortunately did not feature power outlets. The same applied for the area next to the bed, which is rather unusual nowadays. You enter the bathroom through a some sort of walk-in closet area. Thus the one bedroom suite offers a lot of opportunity to store your items. The bathroom featured a showers. Amenities in the shower were provided in dispensers, while there was a bar of soap at the basin. The room was well maintained and clean. My Titanium status also granted me a fruit bowl and some sweets, which I absolutely appreciated.

Centro Barsha By Rotana – Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the restaurant at reception level. It is an absolutely fine breakfast buffet with a nice variety of some Arabian dishes, Indian breakfast curries and Western style items, including a live cooking egg station. Like in many Arabian hotels, there is a nice selection of fruit and salad. The glasses used for juice and water were rather small. Giving that as a feedback to the staff that I feel that it is fine for juice, but not for water, they agreed and changed that, adding larger paper cups to this part of the buffet. I really like that kind of responding to (hopefully sensible) guest feedback.

Centro Barsha By Rotana – Services

The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. There felt to be some transition work to GHA Discovery necessary. The receptionist initially could not see my loyalty status and also partially paying with Discovery Dollar (which you earn from previous stays) lead to some issues – but could finally be solved. The process was very friendly. I also received a late check-out. The check-out went very smoothly as well.

The hotel drives a rooftop pool. The area is not overwhelmingly large, but quite nice. While the pool area roughly opens from sunrise to sunset, the gym on the same floor is 24 hours. I unfortunately did not manage to take pictures from inside during my stay, due to other hotel guests exercising.

Centro Barsha By Rotana – My View

The Centro Barsha By Rotana is not a luxury hotel – but you also don’t pay luxury prices. I really liked this place. It has very friendly staff, I like having a self-parking garage and the breakfast is absolutely fine. The suite room was an absolute treat and lead to a very comfortable stay.
