Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 6th March 2026)

Country music is in focus for me this weekend. The Country To Country Festival is taking place in Berlin (where I am based currently) and Rotterdam, before heading to the United Kingdom next weekend. Nonetheless, I am curious about the new releases  outside that genre. Here are my favorite new song releases, which don’t demand for hard hats and boots.

Nico Mono – Dein Leben ist ein Sofa

“Your life is a sofa” is the translated title of my leading track this week. Nico Mono is a German artist, who is part of the Rheinland music scene since more than a decade. He had a summer hit with Amsterdam in the mid-2010’s. I really like the singer-songwriter style of the song. Great to feature a track from my birth town, the former capital city Bonn.

Jay Alexander – Im Sturm

This post kicks off with three German language songs. The second one is Im Sturm by Jay Alexander, who is also part of the classic-crossover duo Marshall & Alexander. The song is flagged as schlager on the promotion platform I use – but it is very rocking and present. Jay Alexander is in fact also known as an opera singer – you feel that intensity in his solo release.

Fabian Haupt – Perfekt

Another Rheinland artist I feature this week is Fabian Haupt from Dusseldorf. A very poetic way of doing singer-songwriter pop. I loved listening to this song.

Joss Jaffe & Jim “Kimo” West – Party Wave

In 2024, I reviewed the lovely album Santhi by Joss Jaffe and Jim “Kimo” West. Now, the US-AmericanCanadian duet are about to do it again. Their album Delphinus is ready for release – you can listen to it on 26th March 2026. The warm-up track is their lovely, calm Party Waveinstrumental music at its best. I will see Kimo on stage ten times this year – he is the guitarist of Weird Al Yankovic’s band, they are touring North America from May 2026.

Joe Satriani & Steve Vai -: Dancing

SatchVai are back – and that means that there is a second instrumental track in my Songs of the Week this time. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are rocking. On 1st April 2026, they will kick off their first North American tour together, which is running until the end of May.

Bird’s View – Colors of a Day

It’s already the fourth time I feature the German alternative rock band Bird’s View in my new song radar. The Greater Frankfurt area band is ready for Above Chaos. They will share their new album in May 2026 – and present it on tour right at that time as well. Colors of a Day is definitely promising.

Leben 2.0 feat. Emil Torsen – I Won’t Fade Away

My list of new songs this week is comparably short. Leben 2.0, a project by Arno Herbach, who is living in Hamburg, made me smile. The retro dance pop song made me think of my favorite music era, the 1980’s. Enjoy dancing with him.
