Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 24th January 2025)

I am on a trip through several European countries this weekend. Nonetheless, of course, it is time to have a listen to a set of new songs released this week. Here are my Songs of the Week as of 24th January 2025.

Lauren Spencer Smith – Pray

Lauren Spencer Smith was born in the United Kingdom, but is in fact a Canadian artist who grew up in Vancouver Island. At the age of 11, she sang on stage alongside Keith Urban. In 2020, at the age of 16, she made it to the Top 20 of American Idol. A lovely and intense song, which is leading my list of new releases this time.

Cloe Wilder – Cigarette

The second song in my list this week is by the Florida-born singer-songwriter Cloe Wilder. She is currently touring in Europe, supporting Spencer Sutherland. Nice, intimate style.

Rooftop Sailors – Running Across The Lonely Night

The next act on my list this week are the Rooftop Sailors. The alternative rock band is from Bern in Switzerland. A hymnic track with a nice, driving beat.

Carstn – Start Again

The German DJ Carstn (civil name: Carsten Michels) almost spreads summer vibes with his happy pop song Start Again.  At least, this pop track is definitely worth a dance.

Mael & Jonas – Little Things that make an awful lot

Mael & Jonas are a duo, which got some fame in Germany by competing in the 2020 season of The Voice of Germany. Their new single is teasing their sophomore album Two Spoons Sugar, which will be released on 21st February 2025. Soon thereafter, they will also tour Germany and Austria.

Emanuel Reiter – Tiefer

Another Swiss artist I feature this week is Emanuel Reiter. The song is a typical singer-songwriter track, which feels very personal and relatable. A few shows in his home country are due very soon.

Matze Rossi – Rotweinflaschenlänge

Matze Rossi is a German artist, who is mixing punk, rock and folk elements. His new single roughly translates to “Duration of a bottle of red wine”. His new album is due in mid February 2025.

Erdrauch – Du

Erdrauch is a sister duo from Greater Vienna in Austria. Together, they released their new single Du (“You”) this week. A lovely pop ballad.

Eisbrecher – Kaltfront

Die darkest rock sounds this week are likely by the German rock band Eisbrecher. The band from Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich is active since over two decades already. Two of their previous albums topped the German charts. Kaltfront is also the title track of their new album, which will be released on 14th March 2025.

Press Club – Tightrope

With the double single release Tightrope and Vacate, the Australian rock band announce their new album To All The Ones That I Love. The album will become available on 2nd May 2025. So far, you can have fun with songs like this one.

Rise Against – Nod

The Chicago-origin punk/hardcore band Rise Against is just about to set sails over the Atlantic Ocean – they will tour Europe from February 2025. With Nod, there is a perfect appetizer for the fans.

H.E.A.T. – Disaster

The last song on my list this week comes from Sweden. The hard rock and glam metal band H.E.A.T. is already active since 2007. I featured their 2022 album Force Majeure in a detailed review. Next week, the band is kicking off their U.K. tour, before they have some shows in the Nordics.
