Country Music Picks (New Songs) December 2024

Time to look back into songs released during December 2024, which did not make it to my Country Music Playlist. I explicitly excluded Christmas tracks – I just felt you just don’t want to listen to them in January any more. Hope you enjoy my looking back to last month.

New Songs of the Week of 6th December 2024

There were quite a lot of interesting songs in the first week of December 2024.

Jackson Dean – Still Ragin’

I really look forward to Jackson Dean’s appearances in Europe in 2025. It he first week of December, he released this really nice one.

Rob Langdon – Bed Bugs

You can do country music songs about any topic – was that the motivation of Rob Langdon to release a song named Bed Bugs? I definitely liked that idea and had to share the track with you.

Lucinda Williams – Can’t Buy Me Love

Lucinda Williams just does so many interesting projects. On 6th December 2024, she released the album Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles From Abbey Road. The cover album adds a very special style and view on the legendary songs. Here is my favorite.

Quavo feat. Teddy Swims & Luke Bryan – Georgia Ways

A very interesting collaboration, which just did not make it into my main playlist as it is more of a hip hop track to me. Nonetheless, it does have country music vibes.

Ryan Griffin – Old Times’ Sake

Old Times’ Sake is a lovely, flowing country track with a fine groove. I really enjoyed listening to this early December release.

Austin Burke – Too Much Too Late

Austin Burke moved from Arizona to Nashville at the age of 19. The first song which gave him some focus was Whole Lot In Love. On 6th December 2024, the released the lovely Too Much Too Late.

Cory Marks – Sorry For Nothing

Sorry For Nothing will also be the title of Cory Marks’ upcoming 2025 shows, which will also lead him to Europe (see my Tour Date Overview). A really nice new release by him.

The Castellows – Alabama Stone

Under the single Alabama Stone, the three country ladies released in fact three songs. I went for the title track.

Ty Myers – Can’t Hold Me Down

The last song I feature of the first week of December is Can’t Hold Me Down by young Texas artist Ty Myers. A nice song with rather traditional vibes.

New Songs of the Week of 13th December 2024

There are seven songs I added to my Country Music Picks in the week of 13th December 2024.

Max Wareham – Lonesome Blues, I’m Coming Home

I am kicking off this week with the bluegrass-bluesy new release by Max Wareham. The banjo player from Boston adds a very own and unique style to my Country Picks of that week.

Chatham Rabbits – Childhood Friends

I already featured the Chatham Rabbits in my Country Music Playlists with their song Matador. On 13th December 2024, they released a new one, Childhood Friends. Nice one.

Gareth – Zombie

Gareth (who is also featured in my Tour Date Overview) completed his Covers (From Across The Pond) with country-style cover versions on 13th December. I loved his way of looking into Zombie, originally by the Irish band The Cranberries. Some European music from the artist born in Belfast.

Sammy Arriaga – Hero

Another cover is Hero by Sammy Arriaga. Enrique Iglesias simply sounds so different when you put him into country music context.

Eddie And The Getaway – Love Myself

Eddie And The Getaway regularly pop up in my Country Music Playlists. They did not make it with Love Myself, but they are in the Picks – not too bad as well.

Josh Ward – Better on a Barstool

There are so many interesting artists in the Texas country music scene. In the week of 13th December 2024, I ran into the new song by Josh Ward. A really interesting one.

Joel Timmons feat. Jason Carter – Guitars, Guns, and Pickup Trucks

I am not the biggest fan of country music stereotypes – and honestly, the title of this song just feels quite a bit like that. However, I really loved listening about Guitars, Guns, and Pickup Trucks.

New Songs of the Week of 20th December 2024

As expected, the volume of new songs significantly decreased on 20th December 2024. Nonetheless, there are five songs I chose from that week.

Jay Webb – Drink to Get Drunk

The Alabama-origin artist Jay Webb released a new song, Drink to Get Drunk, that week. A very rhythmic, modern country song with good vibes.

Eli Tabor – Honky Tonk at Home

Eli Tabor is longing for a Honky Tonk at Home. Unfortunately, I could not find out too much about this artist. The song feels to be his debut release.

Nate Good – Fire To Last

Nate Good already had two successful tracks with Broadway Girls and Gold Coast. This week, the Virginia artist is sharing Fire To Last. A really nice one.

Tyler Booth – Good As I Can Be

Tyler Booth has been very active in recent time. On 20th December 2024, he shared the rocking and slightly dark Good As I Can Be. I really like it.

The Talbot Brothers – Easy Love

The last song I picked that week is the ballad Easy Love by The Talbot Brothers. Nick and Ty Talbott are originally from Imperial in Nebraska. Their beautiful new song is coming with some really nice blues vibes. Thumbs up!

New Songs of the Week of 27th December 2024

Some brave artists released new songs in the week between Christmas and New Year. Three of these releases make it to my Country Music Picks.

Max McNown – Hey There Deliliah

As part of his Covers, Oregon-born artist Max McNown covered the 2005 song by Plain White T’s. I really like this country music view on the song.

Alyssa Flaherty – January (Warm With You)

Alyssa Flaherty is an artist from Maryland. The first single release I found of her is the 2024 Under The Influence. She closes her debut year with this lovely and touching track.

Cole Goodwin – Catchin’ On

Cole Goodwin is an independent singer-songwriter from Pooler in Georgia. In 2023, he released his self-produced EP Soon Enough. He also had some quite remarkable festival appearances. This week, Goodwin shared his new song, Catchin’ On.
