For various reasons, including status prolongation at GHA Discovery, I did a one night trip to Frankfurt in August 2025. The hotel I wanted to check out there was the Avani Hotel Frankfurt City, the only one hotel in Germany branded by the Thai franchise so far (some others will be added soon). I was really curious about that stay – especially as my experience with the brand was rather mixed. Here is my hotel review. The hotel used to be an NH Collection one before.

 

Avani Hotel Frankfurt City – Location

The hotel is centrally located. It is a few steps away from the main shopping street, Zeil. There are numerous hotels and restaurants of various cuisines in the area. Some two blocks away there is a discount grocery store (Aldi). Many central Frankfurt locations can be reached with a short walk. Thereby, the hotel is not in the direct main station area, which is a bit of sketchy.

Nonetheless, the hotel has good connections to the main station and other Frankfurt areas. The stop Konstablerwache is served by multiple S-Bahn commuter rail trains as well as two underground lines and some bus connections. It is a less than five minutes walk away. You reach Frankfurt Main Station after a few stops. There is also a parking garage close to the hotel, even though the Avani Hotel Frankfurt itself does not have an own parking lot.

 

Avani Hotel Frankfurt City – Room

I booked a standard single room at the Avani Hotel. The room rate for one night, Friday to Saturday in August 2025, including breakfast, was 90.18 EUR. I have been welcomed as a GHA Discovery Titanium member, which granted me a room upgrade as well as a lovely carrot cake as a welcome gift in my room. The room was really nice, large and comfortable. I was working on the work desk for quite some time and enjoyed it. There was a nice range of power sockets as well as a small fridge and coffee making facilities. I would have loved to have a foldable luggage stand though. Apart from that the fridge was a bit of loud here and then.

The bathroom had a very nice size as well. Like the room, it was clean and well maintained, with main amenities provided in dispensers. In addition, there were some packaged amenities in the room as well. The toilet might look a bit of narrow at first sight, but it was comfortable, even with my body size. The area next to the sink provided sufficient space for my toiletries as well. Expecting a city hotel-style room, this one by far exceeded my expectation.

 

Avani Hotel Frankfurt City – Breakfast

Especially with the Avani rather being on the budget range of hotels, I was really curious about their breakfast. It is served in the restaurant area on the first floor (i.e. one level above ground). I absolutely loved the presentation and the selection of the dishes provided. They included a mixture of rather typical items (like sausage, bread, …), but also some special ones like pumpkin mash or Greek yogurt with topping. There was also a live cooking station for eggs. The breakfast room is really large, which lead to a very relaxed start of the day, causing some positive memories.

 

Avani Hotel Frankfurt City – Service

The hotel staff was very friendly and felt very motivated. Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. The hotel offers free WiFi, which worked very well, too. In the basement of the hotel, there is a gym and spa area. Unfortunately, I could not take snaps of the gym part, as it was used any time I went there. However, the spa section (which is open at the evening only), which includes a steam bath and a sauna, was much more than I in fact expected. The gym was unfortunately in use whenever I went down there, so I cannot share pictures. There are QR codes with different helpful services on the desk of your room. The hotel also offers a small library.

 

Avani Hotel Frankfurt City – My View

I was really curious about this stay. It was the third time I stayed at an Avani Hotel. The other other ones were in Dubai. The Avani Ibn Battuta did not make me happy at all, while I really liked the older Avani Deira in the city. This hotel in Frankfurt was simply excellent and did exceed my expectation. The location is great, as well as the staff and the breakfast. I really liked the room as well. Especially if you factor in the price, I can only absolutely recommend this one.
