Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 25th July 2025)

After a quite intense week at work, I had quite some struggle to keep Flyctory.com on track. At least, there were some quite decent access numbers. But I don’t want to complain too much and share some really nice new songs with you. Here is my new edition of the Songs of the Week.

Paulina Moser – Like A Violin

Paulina Moser is a singer, songwriter and violinist from Hamburg in Germany. This week, she shared her new single Like A Violin – feels like a perfect fit of her musical career. This song is my favorite this week – and is thus on top of my list. As always, the remaining songs are listed in a way that the subsequent songs match each other well.

Luca Vasta – Disco Mare

Typically, the Italo pop sound produced in Germany is rather rhythmic. The more, I appreciated this fine song by Luca Vasta, who is a German artist from Remscheid near Cologne. Apart from doing music, she also works as a show host.

Audrey Hobert – Wet Hair

Wet Hair is just the third single release by US American artist Audrey Hobert. She became famous as a co-writer on Grace Abrams’ album The Secret Of Us. Her family is full of musical talent – Hobert’s brother is the musician Malcolm Todd.

Gregory Fisher – Fireflies

Gregory is a singer-songwriter from Lymington, a coastal town in Southern England. Fireflies is in fact his debut single. It’s a really great listen – so I look forward to what lies ahead of his career. An EP is planned later this year.

Elevator Boys – California

The Elevator Boys take you to California this week. They are a classic German boy group, which has become famous by internet memes (in an elevator) in 2021. They are nowadays based in Berlin. In 2024, they released their debut EP Scared To Love.

skuth – Panik

This week, I am featuring a lot of pop music from Germany. skuth is an artist from Cologne, who released this modern pop track. The song will also be the title track of his upcoming EP.

Clueso – Minimum

Clueso is a German artist from Erfurt. He is one of the bigger names of the domestic pop music scene. This week, he released Minimum – a really nice one!

Dave Helgi Johan feat. The Diesel Gypsies – Anywhere but Here

The name sounds Icelandic – but in fact, Dave Helgi Johan is from an Icelandic community in Canada. I featured his album Drumheller in 2022. For his new song, he teamed up with the Australian band The Diesel Gypsies, who have just been formed in 2023. A cool, very melodic track with an alternative folk-pop touch.

Dorfrocker – Die besten Dinge

The Dorfrocker (“Village Rocker”) are a party pop and party schlager band with a touch of traditional folk influence. The trio from Franconia in Germany released this uplifting song this week. Happy 20th band anniversary from my side!

Hanna Rautzenberg – Blahblahblahblahblahblahblah

The pop track by Hanna Rautzenberg might be the longest single-word title I ever featured in this post category. The young artist from Leipzig has been featured in my Songs of the Week a few times already, including leading the 25th April 2025 edition with Friends With My Demons. I really like this energetic track.

Ash – Give Me Back My World

Give Me Back My World is the earliest song release this week. Ash shared this song on Monday already. In October, the British band will release their new album, followed by a UK and Ireland tour, which will last until February 2026.

Helloween – Universe (Gravity For Hearts)

Another act from Hamburg is the power metal band Helloween. Do I really need to introduce these guys around Michael Kiske, Andi Deris nd Kai Hansen? Last year, they had their fortieth band anniversary – and they still rock hard and good!

Sabaton – Lightning At The Gates

Another big name in the metal genre are Sabaton. This week, they released the double single The Duelist and Lightning At the Gates. I rather liked the latter one by the (likely) finest power metal export from Sweden. The song teases the album Legends, which will be published on 17th October 2025.
