Nashville in Concert (20th February 2026, Oberhausen)

When country music hits the major arenas in Germany, this typically means that a really big act is on stage. On 20th February 2026, Sound of Nashville invited country music fans to the Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen. The concert featured Clare Bowen, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, and Sam Palladio. TV fans know: all of them are actors of the legendary TV series Nashville. Here is my review of The Encore Tour by Nashville in Concert.

This posting comes with 294 major size pictures as part of the concert gallery.

Rudolf Weber-Arena – About The Venue

The Rudolf Weber-Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Oberhausen in the German Ruhrgebiet. It has a total capacity. However, for the Nashville in Concert show, the stage was not at the end of the U-shaped arena, but in the middle. Thus, I guess, the capacity at that evening was roughly 4,000. A nice feature of the arena is that it is right next to the Westfield Centro shopping mall. Thus, parking is free. You reach the area by the A42 motorway. Alternatively, there is a public transport stop right in front of the arena, connecting by tram line 112 and multiple tram lines.

I had a couple of reviews around the venue, including the local Topgolf, Sea Life Oberhausen, the Gasometer, the gaming cafe Gamestate, the Holiday Inn Express Oberhausen and the Christmas Market at the shopping mall. Furthermore, I featured a Matthias Reim concert in the arena in 2023.

Nashville in Concert – About The Artists

As stated above, four of the Nashville actors toured Europe. There have been six seasons with a total of 124 episodes by the country music soap. The initial broadcast on ABC and later CMT started on 10th October 2012. The last episode debuted on 26th July 2018. Especially the first four seasons, which had an average TV attendance of over six million viewers, were extremely successful.

Clare Bowen

Clare Bowen was born on 12th May 1984 in Minnamurra, New South Wales. The Australian actress played Scarlett O’Connor in the TV series. Bowen has released one solo album, a self-titled one released in August 2018. Together with her husband Brandon Robert Young, she released the album Us in 2024.

Charles Esten

I featured Charles Esten on Flyctory.com multiple times already. He was born in Pittsburgh on 9th September 1965. Esten’s Nashville role was Deacon Claybourne. Apart from a long list of TV and movie appearances, his vita includes one album, the 2024 Love Ain’t Pretty. I covered two concerts, a May 2024 one in Hamburg and his 2020 Country To Country Berlin main stage appearance.

Jonathan Jackson

Jonathan Jackson is a US-American artist and musician, who was born on 11th May 1982 in Orlando. His Nashville role is Avery Barkley. However, you might also know him as Lucky Spencer in General Hospital. Apart from his appearances in the Nashville soundtracks, he never released solo music.

Sam Palladio

Sam Christian Palladio Scott plays Gunnar Scott in the Nashville series. He is a British actor and musician, born on 21st November 1986 in Pembury, England. Apart from the songs he recorded for the soap, he had multiple single releases alongside Clare Bowen. However, there are also few solo releases like It Ain’t Yours to Throw Away (2014). In 2024, he published his album The Perfect Summer’s Day, Before We Lost the Light.

Nashville in Concert – The Show

With a slight delay, the show started at 20:05. It had a net time of just over two hours, including a 20 minute intermission. For a few songs like the opener Even If It Breaks Your Heart or a medley kicking off the encore, all four artists were on stage in parallel. Most of the show, however, featured solo and duet songs. For example, after the opener, Jonathan Jackson stayed on stage for two songs. In that part, he did not only perform a Nashville song (Keep Asking Why), but also a Simple Minds coverSee The Lights. One of the highlights of the first act was Fade Into You, a duet performed by Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen.

For the last five songs of the first act, Charles Esten was on stage. At Hand To Hold, performed with Clare Bowen, he went up to very top of the audience to greet a fan, who was bound to a hospital bed. Oberhausen appreciated the love and gave it back to the artists. People waved their cell phones at Candlelight and sang along with Esten. The audience more and more cheered and sang with the artists until the last song of the first act. That song was a Charles Esten, Like New. However, Palladio was on stage as a drummer in it.

Second Act

With Clare, Jonathan and Sam, three artists opened the second act with two songs. Charles Esten had a rather limited appearance in this act, he came back on stage rather late. I absolutely loved an Elvis Presley cover by Jonathan Jackson, Unchained Melody. It was likely he emotional highlight of this evening. With Palladio’s and Bowen’s duet If I didn’t know better, there was another lovely performance. At the end of the second act, all artists were back on stage for Down The Road, followed by a two song encore.

Nashville in Concert – My View

I was absolutely blown away by this evening in Oberhausen. Four amazing artist, a lot of memories (at least if you are a TV junkie). Due to the constant changes on stage, the set was extremely entertaining. An of the four artist added magical moments to the Nashville in Concert show. I absolutely loved the experience – I would love to have them back on stage soon…
