While the US-American country scene was really active in releasing music, there were not too many new songs and albums in Germany. The Easter weekend is demanding for other things. Thus, my Songs of the Week are rather short this time.

 

Royale Lynn – Greed

While I initially needed some time to get used to the transition of Royale Lynn from country and country rock to hard rock, I more and more love what she is doing. This week, she released her new song Greed – and made it to the top of my list. This is, by the way, her second time, after leading the 20th September 2024 edition with Sacrifice.

 

Brunhilde – Running Away

Brunhilde is a German metal punk band. They have been in my Songs of the Week thrice already. However, the last appearance has been in the 7th April 2023 edition. With Running Away, they also released their third single of the upcoming album In Love Yours Hate, which will be released on 6th June 2025.

 

Tausend Rosen – Von Wien bis übern Jordan

Tausend Rosen are an alternative rock band from Vienna in Austria. They have been quite in focus recently, when they opened for the domestic stars Seiler und Speer on their recent tour. There will be a new EP soon – their last major release has been the 2022 album Das kleine Schwarze.

 

Bitume – Die Nacht

Punk rock from Oldenburg in Northern Germany – that’s Bitume. The band has already been founded in 2000. Nonetheless, the quartet just had one change in their lineup since then. Happy 25th band anniversary – Die Nacht will be part of an upcoming EP.

 

Jade Bird – Dreams

Jade Bird is a British artist, who is nowadays living in Los Angeles. With Dreams, she is also teasing her new album Who Wants To Talk About Love, which is scheduled to be released in mid July 2025. Nice one.

 

Buick Audra – Yellow

Buick Andra became well-known as part of the duo Friendship Commanders, which she is driving with Jerry Roe. While she is just about to finish a tour with that project, she released her solo single Yellow this week. Nice one!

 

Rags and Riches – Hush

Rags and Riches are an alt-pop duo, who are currently about to release a new EP. The brothers, Tanner and Peyton Whitt, released their debut album Always Gold in June 2022. A nice new release from the siblings originally from Lexington in Kentucky.

 

Alma Naidu feat. Mark Lettieri – Downside Of Love

Munich-based jazz and pop singer Alma Naidu joins forces with US-American guitarist Mark Lettieri for her new song Downside Of Love. A great voice and a lovely melody turn this one into a really nice listen. Alma is releasing her sophomore album in five weeks.

 

Nadu – Das Bist Alles Du

Nadu is a German artist, who is about to release her debut album Relevanz at the end of May. She will also tour Germany from the release date on. This week, she released Das Bist Alles Du. A nice pop track with a special touch.
