Flyctory.com Pros

  • Great staff
  • Lovely pool
  • Very nice breakfast

I originally planned to visit Kuala Lumpur on a daytrip from Singapore. As the Malaysian hotel prices significantly beat the Singapore ones, I ended up having two nights in “KL”. I chose the Hilton Kuala Lumpur mainly due to its direct link to the train station, KL Sentral, which connected with Kuala Lumpur International Airport by the airport express train KLIA Ekspres. In addition, the reviews were really good. Staying in Hilton Kuala Lumpur definitely was an excellent choice.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur – Location

This Hilton Group hotel is located right across the access road from the main rail station, KL Sentral. In fact there are two hotels linked to each other, the Hilton Kuala Lumpur and the Le Meridien. There is an elevated walkway which connects the station with both hotels. At the end of the walkway, you head left to the Hilton and right to the Le Meridien. You may walk between the pool areas of both hotels as well (see below). Of course, you cannot use the complimentary services of the other place.

Apart from the hotel services, you can of course easily use the services provided by the station. North of the hotels, there is also the National Museum (Muzium Negara), which provides an additional local transport stop. Next to that is a park, which hosts a couple of attractions.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur – The Room

My room was in the Hilton King Deluxe category. The total stay for two nights was 715 MYR, roughly 155 EUR. Breakfast was not included in the room price, but part of my Hilton Hotel status amentiies (see below). The living area was spacious, featuring a nice workdesk and a cozy bed. The minibar was located close to the entrance. There were a lot of drawers for storage as well.

The bathroom was even better. The bathtub was definitely the eyecatcher of the room, but there was also a separate shower. The toilet included shower facilities. All necessary amenities were provided.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur – Breakfast & Food

Being a a Hilton Honors Gold member, breakfast was automatically included in the room price. I was invited to the breakfast buffet in the Vacos’s buffet restaurant. The selection included a lot of Asian and world-wide cusines. You can have a miso soup as well as an Indian breakfast curry, freshly prepared omelette or some Malay dishes. There was bread and fruit as well. I just loved the selection of items, which was even better than in the One Farrer Hotel in Singapore.

For lunch and dinner, the hotel offers several additional options. The most prominent is likely the Japanese Iketeru restaurant. I felt very sad when I looked at the winter menu – they even served Fugu (the famous Japanese porcupinefish, which may be poisonous if incorrectly prepared) in these months. The Spring menu was already in place for my stay, though. I went for the Chambers grill, which served me an amazing wagyu beef and a lovely desert for roughly 400 MYR. There are a couple of other options as well. The cakes in the lobby cafe looked great, too.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur – Sports & Services

The pool area is the amazing heart of Hilton Kuala Lumpur. It is maybe not ideal if you want to swim some meters, but a lovely location to enjoy a refreshing time in the water and relax. There are also some bars around the two pools – in fact, there is separation between the Hilton and the Le Meridien area.

The hotel also features a spa and a 24-hour gym. The staff was friendly and professional in all occasions. They really made my stay a great one. The WiFi connection in the room was very good as well.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur – My View

Great location, a wonderful pool, lovely food and superb service – Hilton Kuala Lumpur just gives you no chance for a complaint. Having the two nights there was just excellent and I enjoyed my stay. Especially for a shorter trip with connections to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, I absolutely recommend this amazing place. A real Top Pick!
