  • 10 very different songs
  • Excellent songwriting and storytelling
  • Very personal touch

Fans had to wait patiently for a new record by Amy Grant. Despite the US-American is a big name in the music scene, it took her some time until she finally shared The Me That Remains. Her album is published on 8th May 2026.

Amy Grant – About The Artist

Amy Grant was born on 25th November 1960 in Augusta, Georgia. She is especially known as singer of contemporary Christian music, but later also leaned towards soft rock. Grant is married to Vince Gill, her second spouse, since 2000. She is a six times Grammy Award winner. Overall, Amy Grant released nineteen studio albums overall. However, the predecessor of her 2026 one, Tennessee Christmas, has been released in 2016.

Amy Grant – The Me That Remains – Track by Track

The ten song album lasts 40 minutes.

1. The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm)

Amy Grant kicks off her 2026 album with two already published tracks. The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm) is a folk-rock song. Amy Grant’s clear high voice is a treat following and listening to. Lovely storytelling and a fine melody define a wonderful beginning of The Me That Remains.

2. How Do We Get There From Here (feat. Ruby Amanfu)

Apart from her work as pop, R&B, and Americana singer-songwriter, the Ghana-born Ruby Amanfu is also known as a civil activist. She is joining Grant in the second song of the album. How Do We Get There From Here does have a very different style. The dramatic stanzas create a nice contrast to the hymnic contrast. Both artists are also taking the vocal role, which leads to a very present, energetic listen.

3. Please Don’t Make Me Beg

Three songs, three very different styles – Please Don’t Make Me Beg has Americana and power ballad vibes. The song feels very personal, just in line with the story of the song. The first so-far unreleased track adds a new, but very enjoyable vibes.

We want the same thing
To be loved
We need the same things
To have enough
We want the same thing
Someone to trust
We need the same things
Oh, please don’t make me beg
Don’t make me beg

4. The Saint

The Saint is opening with a piano theme. The song has a mysterious and darker beginning. The more, it surprises with a gently flowing chorus. Amy’s vocal performance, sometimes husky, often vulnerable, leads to another song, which feels to directly touch the listener.

5. Beautiful Lone Companion

The Beautiful Lone Companion is indeed a lovely companion to the listener. The ballad is majorly driven by piano and string elements in the background. It is definitely one of the emotional highlights of The Me That Remains – and one of its most beautiful and touching listens.

And He keeps to the mountains and the valleys
He sleeps by the rivers and the streams
He dwells at the edges of the shadows
To water your life and deepest dreams

And He moves through ancient contradictions
With the grace of a sacred machine
This beautiful lone companion
No one’s ever seen

6. The Me That Remains

The title track of the album is next. It is also the third and last song on The Me That Remains which has been released beforehand. The song has a very catching gospel style and thus reminds of Grant’s earlier songs. It’s definitely a nice one.

7. ‘Til We Get It Right

Amy Grant definitely surprises with new ideas and new styles in every song. This one leans towards soul and R&B. The song feels being amazing for her upcoming concerts. Unfortunately, these are in North America only.

8. (Nothing Like A) Sunny Day

Are you still surprised if I state that the eighth song is coming with slight reggae vibes? There is so much in stock in The Me That Remains. The groove of this one makes you move, even though (Nothing Like A) Sunny Day has a nice pop-ish ease as well. A fun listen.

9. Friend Like You (with Vince Gill)

Everybody needs a friend like you – who would be a better choice as a guest musician for a song with this line than Amy Grant’s husband Vince Gill? These four minutes of Grant-Gill spread harmony, trust, and love. We need that in these harder times. Love it!

10. The Other Side Of Goodbye (with Sarah Cannon & Corrina Gill)

I can’t forget my mother’s face
As we watched her fade and slowly take
The final breath of her sweet life
I swear she lit up like a child

Another family “affair” is closing the album. Apart from Sarah Cannon, Amy Grant is joined by her daughter Corrina Gill. The song starts with the sad lyrics above, but it also has a hopeful and positive touch. A lovely and intense finale of a lovely and intense album.

I know someday we’re all gonna die
Close our eyes for one last time
I hope mine stay open wide
For whatever forever I’m gonna find

Amy Grant – The Me That Remains – My View

It is amazing that an album featuring so different songs does not feel random. One reason for that is that Amy Grant did excellent writes, the storytelling is beautiful. The songs also feel very personal and honest, so that there is a strong bound between the artist and the listener. I love The Me That Remains.

Favorite Song: Beautiful Lone Companion
