Flyctory.com Pros

  • Variable rock album with good, straight lyrics
  • Nice and virtuous use of different instruments

I already featured two albums by the US American band Low Cut Connie. In 2020, they released Private Lives, before I had a deeper listen to Art Dealers three years later. Another three years later, on 3rd July 2026, there is a new Low Cut Connie album. Here is my review of Livin in the USA.

Low Cut Connie – About The Artists

Low Cut Connie is rock’n’roll band from Philadelphia, which has been founded in 2010. However, the band is solely driven by Adam Weiner, who is frontman, pianist and songwriter of the project. He is adding band members to the Low Cut Connie, especially when the band is on tour. Livin in the USA is already the ninth album of the band.

Low Cut Connie – Livin in the USA – Track by Track

The ten track album lasts 35 minutes.

1. Livin in the USA

Livin’ in the USA, but it ain’t my home – Low Cut Connie starts their 2026 album with the title track. Especially the chorus spreads quite a lot of melancholy and blues vibes, while the stanzas and the bridge is more rocking. A song full of struggle – which is somehow a key topic of this record.

2. Get Down

There are blues and Americana vibes in the next song as well. However, the song is more uplifting, comes with a good melody – and finally also makes you inevitably move to the vibes of the track. There is also some touch of nostalgy in this one.

3. Little Freakers

Half of the songs of this record have been released before record release – Little Freakers is one of them. The March 2026 release has a nice indie rock touch, which is driven by straight lyrics and a really well-composed instrumental part. It’s really enjoyable listening to this one as well.

4. Let Me Speak To Bobby

Let Me Speak To Bobby starts with a longer instrumental part, before Adam Weiner steps at the microphone. The song again has a strong blues influence and is overall significantly slower than the songs before. The repetitive, almost dialog-alike style of interacting with the female background singers is another key element of this track.

5. Can’t Be Wrong

The fifth track combines rock’n’roll with the ease of a pop song. Here and there, Can’t Be Wrong even has a bit of rockabilly. Again, the song profits from the wide range of musicians Wiener chooses between the different songs. In this one, for example, there are some really interesting brass elements.

6. Human Condition

A good groove, heavy guitars in the background and a jingling piano – these are the key elements of groovy Human Condition. Again, the melody nicely fits to the straight message of the song. The duration of the song of three minutes feels just right as well – The song does not come with too many plot twists.

7. Not My Problem

Not More Problem is shorter than the song before. Nonetheless, these speedy, rhythmic 2:38 minutes leave a mark. There are some good reasons to put the Explicit Lyrics banner next to this one, while especially the virtuous piano strikes on the instrumental side.

8. Oh Yeah

With the single release Oh YeahLivin’ In The USA presents a straight rock’n’roll track. The setting is rather nostalgic. Despite that, the song does not feel outdated at all and is a fun listen. I really like it.

9. Everybody

From the very beginning, the penultimate song Everybody feels a bit of unremarkable to me. The song flows nicely, comes with a pleasurable sound. Nevertheless, it lacks the catching spots the vast majority of other Livin In The USA songs does come with.

10.Palpitations

The chucker-out Palpitations is the record’s only song, which exceeds the four minutes mark. It is an energetic rocker, which is again very groovy. The piano leads to a rather classic touch.

Low Cut Connie – Livin in the USA – My View

Adam Weiner and his Low Cut Connie deliver a lovely new album with a lot of excellence. I especially love the different styles and variability of the instrumentation, which profits from the rather unique band / project setup. Living in the USA comes with straight message and groovy, interesting melodies. Like it!
