  • Powerful, energetic rock album
  • Good variety of songs

Lorena has been featured in my Songs of the Week a couple of times already. On 13th February 2026, the rock artist is finally releasing her debut album. Here is my review of Rebel Soul.

Lorena – About The Artist

Originally from Franconia in Southern Germany, the German artist Lorena is nowadays based in Hamburg. She already had stage appearances in childhood days. Apart from her rock project, Lorena Daum (which is her civil name) is also working as a wedding singer and wedding speaker. In 2020, she reached the quarterfinals of The Voice of Germany. Lorena also sung the anthem of the Hamburg Sea Devils an EFL American Football team.

Lorena – Rebel Soul – Track by Track

The thirteen song album lasts 38 minutes.

1. Hello

Very politely, Lorena welcomes the listener with a friendly Hello. The song opens Rebel Soul in a very rocking way, including a nice groove from the bass section. Hello and welcome to my show, she states in the chorus. A friendly, cool way doing so.

2. Rebel Soul

After this powerful start, the record continues with its title track. Even though Rebel Soul is significantly more gentle than Hello, there is still a lot of rock energy in it. The melody of the track is nice, even though I feel that Hello is more catching.

3. Milky Way

The third song is Milky Way. While Rebel Soul already had some pop music feelings, the intro feels to take you in that direction even more. However, the guitars go for their full rock power

4. Not My Business

There are doubts about the genre at Not My Business – the song opens with a powerful guitar riff. The song is one of my favorites. It comes with quite some rock power in the chorus, the slightly filthy sound of Lorena’s voice in the stanzas leads to a nice contrast. The song is simply a nice listen and works with interesting elements like a phone announcement sample towards the end of the song.

5. Shadow (Spinning Around)

There is indeed the darker feeling of a Shadow at the beginning of this song. However, Lorena is a rocker and while you feel struggle in the intro and the stanzas, she is melting your face with rock fire in the chorus. A fun listen.

6. Love Me Or Leave Me

There are power ballad vibes in the sixth song, which feels like a perfect fit to its title. Love Me Or Leave Me is catching and beautifully tells its story. Lorena Daum’s voice feels like a great fit to this emotional experience full of struggle.

7. Enjoy The Silence (feat. Oliver Henrich)

Now, Lorena is going for a big song you highly likely know. Enjoy The Silence is a Depeche Mode cover. However, there is even more struggle in this dark rock duet version she recorded together with Oliver Henrich. I’m not the biggest fan of the British synth rockers – but this version is really cool.

8. Pretty Please

After going back in time and spreading some darker vibes, Pretty Please goes for more positive vibes. The song is also significantly faster than the average pace of the album. I simply had to smile while listening to this song for my review.

9. Pieces

Even though the songs on Rebel Soul are typically very energetic and come with a lot of rock power, they still have their own style and character. Pieces, for example, has a touch of stadium rock. The stomping beat drives the louder parts, while Lorena also adds more quiet pieces in here. This leads to a very catching and entertaining listen.

10. Have You Ever

Have You Ever is a comparably modern track with some alternative rock flavor. It’s another track which lives from a great chorus, which simply stays in your mind. The slightly raspy singing style feels like another great match to the spirit of the song. It’s simply fun listening to this album.

11. Burn It To The Ground

Burn It To The Ground sounds like another intense rocker. Indeed, Lorena heads towards hard rock vibes in this song. The riffs are rougher and take a very present role while listening. Nonetheless, the song has very melodic sections as well. A cool single release, indeed.

12. Haunt Me

Rockers do ballads best – that’s a given. So far, we missed the really fine, emotional side of rock music. The penultimate song Haunt Me delivers the right soundtrack for hugging and kissing. After the rock experience before, especially the first part of this song feels very fragile. However, the chorus is more present and leads to a beautiful listen.

13. Louder

The closing track is just over two minutes. Lorena asks Louder, louder, can you here me now? and by that ignites her final rock firework. Despite being rather short, it is a really nice farewell from the album.

Lorena – Rebel Soul – My View

I loved Lorena’s single releases – and thus, Rebel Soul is in line with my expectations. It features straight powerful rock songs, which still come with a certain twist. A really good initial long-player by the German rock lady, which is definitely worth a listen.

My Favorite: Hello
