Country Music Picks (New Songs) June 2025

CMA Fest, festival season, sunshine and fun – the country music summer 2025 has started. In my Country Music Picks, I focus on songs which have been released during June 2025 – and haven’t made it to my website in any other way. Hope you enjoy the selection. This series of posts will go on a hiatus with this edition – it is just too much effort to curate it, and the feedback is too low to continue working on it.

New Songs of the Week of 6th June 2025

After there have been masses of new country songs the week before, I felt that this one was rather thin. Thus, there were just five song picks at the beginning of June 2025.

Dylan Gossett – Sweet Lady

Dylan Gossett is working towards his new album Sweet Lady, which is about to be released in mid-July 2025. At the beginning of June, he released the title track as a musical “appetizer”.

Colt Graves – We Both Lie

During my Six US States and Nashville trip, I passed the city of Owensboro in Kentucky. It hosts the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum (which I could not visit) – and is the home town of Colt Graves. In that week, he released his new song We Both Lie.

James Barker Band – Somebody I Know

Wow – it is almost six years since I saw the James Barker Band live on stage. In November 2019, I featured their show in Zurich in Switzerland. I would love to see the Canadians on stage again – their June 2025 song release definitely increases this feeling.

Hannah Ellis – Love Of My Night

Hannah Ellis’ show in Cologne was much more recent. She supported Alexandra Kay in March 2024. I really love her music – and feel happy to have her in my Country Music Picks for the very first time.

Tyler Rich – When?

I featured Tyler Rich at a show in Cologne in October 2019. Since then, he is a frequent guest in my playlists. His new song When? is another really good listen.

New Songs of the Week of 13th June 2025

Just three songs added that week – I felt that the new releases I ran into did not really work out that well. Maybe it’s still that kind of post-CMA Fest depression in regards of musical quality? Let’s praise the artists who made it.

Dallas Alexander – 7 Words

I kick off my list as of the second week of June with a Canadian artist. 7 Words leads to his first appearance on Flyctory.com. Let’s see how the career of this upcoming artist from Alberta is developing.

Payton Smith – Enough For Me

Enough For Me is the third song by Payton Smith which makes it to my Country Music Picks. I already featured the Texas artist in May 2025 and November 2024. He is currently touring in North America.

Kayley Green – You’d Still Be Drunk

Kaylee Green from South Carolina already closes the list as of the second week of June 2025. She is a resident at Whiskey Row in Nashville and typically plays there every Saturday. This already lead to quite a fanbase – Green has over 80k followers on Instagram. Maybe this one is pushing the number closer to a six digit one.

New Songs of the Week of 20th June 2025

After two rather thin weeks in regards of that posting, the third week had quite a lot of great music in stock.

Lukas Nelson – Outsmarted

I almost felt ashamed that Lukas Nelson “just” made it to my Country Music Picks and not into my Country Music Playlists. Outsmarted has been by favorite song of his new album American Romance. Give this song – and the album – a listen.

Ashley Anne – Plenty of Fish

I have featured two EPs by Ashley Anne so far. In November 2024, I shared my thoughts about Call Me When You Land. In January the same year, I already published my review of Dear DollyPlenty of Fish makes me look forward to new music of her.

Tebey – Smooth Like Vinyl

I always love running into Canadian Tebey. Even though his The Good Ones is already dated as of 2021, I especially remember his appearance at the 2024 Sound of Nashville Open AirSmooth Like Vinyl is a lovely new listen.

Tyler Kinch – Can’t Pour it Back in

Another debut on Flyctory.com: this post is the first time I feature Tyler Kinch and his music. That week, he released his EP Dancing with a Cowboy. This one is my favorite song of the six track release.

Brandon Wisham – Growin’ Up

Brandon Wisham was a new name in country music to me. The 22 year old artist was born in Georgia, but grew up in Williamston in South Carolina. He released his debut single Pain Won’t Last at the age of 19. Here is his latest single.

Kelsey Lamb & Haley Mae Campbell – Matches

Combined, Kelsey Lamb and Haley Mae Campbell are followed by over 300k users on Instagram. This female country music superpower is a great basis for their collaboration Matches. I really enjoyed listening to it.

Chris Lane – Bar Without A Beer

The most recent album by Chris Lane is the upgraded version of the EP From Where I’m Sipping, which has been released in 2024. However, his biggest songs have been in the late 2010’s when songs like I Don’t Know About You or Big Big Plans have been multiple platinum releases. Bar Without A Beer might not make it to that level, but I keep my fingers crossed that it is a step towards it.

Dylan Marlowe – Sorryville

Even though I never featured Dylan Marlowe in an EP or album review, he frequently makes it to the Country Music Playlists. That week, Sorryville takes the Georgia-origin artist to the Country Music Picks for the first time.

Stephen Wilson Jr. – Dig A Hole

Stephen Wilson Jr. is an outstanding artist. He presented his characteristic country rock sound in November 2024 in Cologne and has growing popularity all over Europe. In the third week of June 2025, he released Dig A Hole.

Kyle Elliott – Wild

Many artists move to Nashville to boost their musical career – Kyle Elliott did not have to do that. He is a native of Greater Nashville, who started digging deeper into music in his teenage years. His music is a slightly traditional.

New Songs of the Week of 27th June 2025

These songs complete my (for the meantime) final edition of my Country Music Picks.

Zandy Holup – Mary Jane

Zandy Holup is working as an actress as well as a singer-songwriter. She is originally from Fort Washington in Pennsylvania. In the last week of June 2025, she released the lovely Mary Jane.

Dean Brody – Drink Around

Dean Brody has already won 16 CCMA Awards. The Candian is indeed one of the major artists in the domestic country music scene. Nonetheless, it is his first appearance in the Country Music Picks.

Haley Joelle – For the Hills

Haley Joelle is 1999-born artist from Long Island. She started in pop music and already released three albums so far. This week, she shared her new song For The Hills.

Carter Faith – Sex, Drugs, & Country Music

Carter Faith was the opening act of a show in Frankfurt I featured in March 2024. That week, the North Carolina native shared Sex, Drugs, & Country Music – a really great listen.

Tyler Booth – Freeborn Man

Kentucky-native Tyler Booth released his new EP Downtown that week. The sound is a bit more on the traditional side. I picked Freeborn Man as my favorite track of the set of six songs.

Gunnar Latham – Cowboy Every Time

I close this posting with another artist, who has not yet been on Flyctory.com before. The first sentence I read about the artist is Gunnar Latham was born into a church-going and country music-loving family in San Marcos, Texas. Could it be more country-music alike? Besides that, Cowboy Every Time is a song really worth listening to.

Country Music Picks – The Playlist

I will also present the new songs of a month in a new, dedicated playlist. The playlist will be completely flushed and reset with the next Country Music Picks posting.
