When it comes to major and professional sports, you might majorly think about three teams in Nashville. The Tennessee Titans are Music City’s American Football team in the NFL. In ice hockey, the Nashville Predators play NHL at Bridgestone Arena and Nashville SC is a very popular soccer team in the MLS (playing at Geodis Park) . However, there is also Minor League Baseball in town. The local team are the Nashville Sounds, who play at the First Horizon Park in rather central location.

First Horizon Park – Location & Transport

First Horizon Park is located in the North of Downtown Nashville. The walking distance from Broadway is about a mile. The area is rather residential, but there are also some services around. Right at the main gate in the North, there is a major bar, which was very popular among visitors. West of the stadium, there is the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.

The easiest way of getting to the ballpark is by car. South of the venue, ballgame visitors can use the State of Tennessee employee parking garage for a 15 USD fee. You can also prepay the parking when you buy the tickets. There are also some other parking lots around and a bike sharing station. There are also some public bus connections to the stadium, e.g. lines 64,88, and 95 heading to Harrison St & 5th Ave close to the Southern entrance. Please note that – like most US venues nowadays – First Horizon Park operates under a clear bag policy.

First Horizon Park – The Venue

The capacity of First Horizon Park is roughly 10,000. There are upgrades possible, so that the record attendance in 2022 was 12,000. The stadium is a very typical two level North American ballpark with main services along the concourse on the main / lower level. Seating is comparably comfortable. The view of Downtown Nashville is beautiful. However, the key catch is the scoreboard which is – how could it be differently in Music City – in the shape of a guitar. My wife and I visited a game in April 2026, rather at the beginning of the season, against the Charlotte Knights. The ticket situation was easy. Our tickets were 40 USD nominal / roughly 52 USD including all taxes, charges, and fees.

Our tickets were at Club Level, behind the home plate in the upper rank. The Houchens Insurance Group Club Seats offer you access to a food court alike lounge in the upper level and allow you using a separate entrance. However, there is no food or other catering included. The premium suites use the same access. Guests in the suites receive a wristband, which offer you free food (almost all items) at the booths as well as some additional treats. It felt that quite many tickets sold were in fact not used during the game. We really enjoyed the experience there, including the very comfortable seating with a really nice view of the game and surroundings.

Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park – Atmosphere

Visiting the Nashville Sounds is fun. They have a couple of nice games in the intermissions, the presentation is good. However, some of the entertainment is performed in the rather remote outfield. At least at the match I attended rather at the beginning of the season, there was no atmosphere from the seats worth mentioning. The people appreciated their team, cheered a bit for any run of the home team, but overall did not push their team too much. This might change in later stages of the baseball year.

First Horizon Park – Merchandise & Food

Right at the main gate, there is a comparably large Nashville Sounds merchandise store. It comes with the typical items, from jerseys, hats and other fan wear. A few times a year, the Nashville Sounds play with alternative brandings, e.g. as Nashville Hot Chickens. There is even some merchandise for these brands. Prices are reasonable in US relations.

The lower concourse offers a fine variety of typical sports bites. Again, the prices are absolutely fine. I tried a hot dog on club level which was also really nice in quality. The seating upstairs was very relaxed, maybe also due to the generally low attendance.

First Horizon Park – Services

The staff in the whole stadium was very friendly and helpful. The club level bathroom might need some maintenance, but overall, the services were fine. Close to the outfield entrance, the stadium features a very unique service: you may play a game of mini golf there.

Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park – My View

Visiting a match of the Nashville Sounds was fun. First Horizon Park is nicely located, parking and prices are fine. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, while the atmosphere is rather on the limited side. Nonetheless, you will have a good time in the stadium.
