Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 11th July 2025)

I can hardly get that this week is over already. I had quite a busy time with a business trip to Munich. Right after posting this one, I will head to Hamburg for some more floorball coverage. I feel my selection of new songs this week is really interesting and very versatile. Hope you like it!

Lindsay Ell – Magic

I still believe in magic – the lovely Lindsay Ell has departed from country music, but her songs stay straight and honest. This week, the Canadian shared her new single magic – and makes it to the top of my Songs of the Week.

Omao, Nadaro & Max Landry – Feelin’ Good

Three artists spreading summer vibes in the song Feelin’ Good. The key one is German producer Eric Wüstenberg, who is better known as OMAO and lives in Austria. The summer is even more magic with this listen.

C.B. Green – Fool’s Game

C.B. Green is the alter ego of Clemens Benecke from Southern Germany. He already supported Bonnie Tyler on her 2019 and has been featured thrice in my Songs of the WeekFool’s Game is a very cool and laid back track with a nice groove.

Eddy Winkelmann – Seine Zeit

One of my favorite listens this week is Seine Zeit (“His Time”) by Eddy Winkelmann. The Hamburg artist nicely mixes pop and blues elements and refines it with lovely storytelling. A very good one!

Alfred Haberl & Leo Moertl – Wunderbar

Wunderbar (“Wonderful”) is a lovely Austro-pop-rock track. Alfred Haberl and Leo Moertl worked together in rock projects like The Strongbow. Now they spread summer vibes with their single. I really love the vibes of that track.

Patrick Kronenberger – Der Weg ist das Ziel

A bit of pop, a touch of schlager and some country heart – that’s Der Weg ist das Ziel by Patrick Kronenberger. Apart from releasing own songs, he is also working as a composer.

Rosa Weiss – Meine Ostsee

Meine Ostsee – Rosa Weiss is praising “My Baltic Sea” in the only straight schlager track I selected this week. A nice rhythm, a pleasant voice and a catching melody. That’s what the genre is about. Fun fact: Rosa also has a doctor degree in Philosophy.

Wolf Alice – The Sofa

This time, the beginning of my post features are a lot of artists from German-speaking countries. However, Songs of the Week is international. Wolf Alice is an alternative rock artist from London. In The Sofa, she is showing a gentle side of her music.

KI Sunshine Band – Schöne Töchter (Rock Version)

Artificial intelligence is also more and more conquering the music industry. KI Sunshine Band (“KI” is the German abbreviation for artificial intelligence) is concentrating on creating music in that way. It somehow feels fascinating, but also frightening. Thomas Ostler, the person behind the project even released two very different versions of Schöne Töchter (“Beautiful Daughters”) this week. Apart from this rock track, there is also a disco version.

Mense – Since I Lost You

Mense is one of the most interesting German acts to me currently. In December 2024, I reviewed his awesome album Spanish Night. Now he is back with Since I Lost You – and I love listening to it again. He is regularly on stage as well – mostly in Northern Germany, though.

The Rasmus – Love Is A Bitch

The Finnish alternative rockers recently announced that they will be touring again in November 2025. Until then, they are working on their September 2025 album release WeirdoLove Is A Bitch is a very promising song for both occasions.

South Arcade – Fear Of Heights

Back to the United Kingdom: South Arcade is a pop punk band, which has been founded in Oxford in 2021. The quartet around singer Harmony Cavelle already had quite some success in their domestic market. Especially their 2024 EP 2005 had some really nice listens. Now they are back with Fear Of Heights – a really fun one.

Deftomes – My Mind Is A Mountain

The California band Deftones are regarded to be one of the founders of nu metal. In late August 2025, they are releasing their tenth studio album overall, private music. That’s a really delightful for the fans of their band. Their most recent album is Ohms, which has been released in 2020.

Kid Cudi – Grave

1984-born musician, songwriter and artist is another US-American artist on my list this week. He was born in 1984 in Cleveland and mixes rap with rock elements. In 2012, he won two Grammy Awards. I really like his new song Grave, which even has a bit of country flavor towards its end.

Jonathan Jeremiah – Kolkata Beer

This week, I introduced the Flyctory.com Featured Athletes. One of them is – obviously – the Kolkata / Calcutta-born tennis idol Leander Paes. The day thereafter, Jonathan Jeremiah invited the listener to a Kolkata Beer. The song is also teasing the upcoming album of the London artist.

Ray Litfield – In The End

I feel that the name Ray Litfield sounds very US-American. However, his civil name is kind of different and he is from Rosenheim between Munich and Salzburg. The rather calm song shall encourage you not to give up. A very intense atmosphere by the German.

Victoria Akua – You Remind Me

The song You Remind Me is the calmest listen of the album. It is sung by the Danish artist Victoria Akua, who is recording for a German label. A beautiful folk-style song by the Scandinavian.
