Elles Bailey is one of the most interesting Americana acts from the United Kingdom. The English lady released a new album on 9th August 2024. Here is my review of Beneath The Neon Glow.
Elles Bailey – About The Artist
Elles Bailey is a British blues rock and Americana artist. Born in Bristol, England, she started to pursue a musical career in the 2010’s. The 2017, she released her debut album, Wildfire. So far, the British artist released four studio albums and two live recordings. Her last studio release was the 2022 Shining in the Half Light.
Elles Bailey – Beneath The Neon Glow – Track by Track
The ten song album lasts 40 minutes. There is also a deluxe version with 16 songs, majorly acoustic versions of her songs.
1. Enjoy The Ride
The first step of Beneath the Neon Glow is Enjoy The Ride. The song has strong country vibes, but also a rather dark touch. The chorus of the very rhythmic song is having a nice ease.
2. Ballad Of A Broken Dream
The Ballad Of A Broken Dream is not necessarily a ballad, but definitely a nicely flowing track. Musically, it tends towards folk music vibes, majorly driven by the strumming guitars and the rather present drums.
3. Leave The Light On
Out of the five songs already released before the album, Leave The Light On has been the most successful one. It reminds of Enjoy The Ride, as it is also leaning towards country rhythmic and sounds. However, Leave The Light On has a more lovely melodic flow. Additionally, the song has a lovely electric guitar part, which is a really good add-on.
4. 1972
1972 closes the block of already featured songs in a special style. The song is very groovy and also uses wide range of instruments. This leads to a unique listen on this album. The song definitely stays in your mind.
5. Silhouette In A Sunset
While I struggle to stamp Ballad of a Broken Dream as a ballad, there are just a few arguments against that classification for Silhouette In A Sunset. The slow track does not also have a touching atmosphere, it also comes with lovely storytelling. Thus, you have the choice to be a bit more romantic – or simply enjoy listening to the lyrics while digesting the fifth track.
6. Truth Ain’t Gonna Save Us
The sixth song of Beneath the Neon Glow is Truth Ain’t Gonna Save Us. The song is a nice mid-tempo Americana track, with first feels a bit of mousy, but needs some more listens to be really enjoyable. The Americana-folk style of the song is definitely a great basis for this one.
7. If This Is Love
The last song of the album which Elles Bailey fans already know is If This Is Love. The Bristol lady is releasing her blues and rock heart in this listen. The song is one of my favorites on the whole long-play.
8. Let It Burn
With Let It Burn, Elles Bailey presents another slower song. However, the eighth track of her 2024 album has a nice plot and some moments stay deep in your ear. Thus, the song has an overall very impressing touch
9. Love Yourself
Love Yourself is a really cool song. The bluesy groove of the track makes you move to the music. The almost five minute track also has a nice dramatic plot and speeds up towards the end. A really nice write by the English artist.
10. Turn Off The News
The ballad Turn Off The News closes Beneath The Neon Glow. The piano ballad is setting an emotional fade-out at the end of this long-play.

Elles Bailey – Beneath The Neon Glow – My View
Beneath The Neon Glow is a really nice release. Elles Bailey presents a nice range of songs, which still are base on a common heart. There are emotional and uplifting songs in the range between blues, folk, country and rock. I definitely enjoyed it.
