In late March 2025, I spent three nights in Krakow. This time, I opted for a hotel, which haven’t stayed in before. The DoubleTree by Hilton Krakow Hotel & Convention Center is located East of Downtown Krakow. As the name suggests, the hotel is also aiming for meetings and workshops and directly liked to a convention center. Here is my review of the stay.

DoubleTree Krakow Convention Center – Location

The hotel is located East of the city center of Krakow. The same complex also features the Hampton by Hilton Krakow, there is a passageway to that hotel. There are not too many touristic facilities in close proximity. There is a smaller supermarket and a shopping mall in some 15 minutes walking distance, though. However, if you are at an event at TAURON Arena, the hotel is a nice choice, as you can easily walk there.

The traffic connection is a downside of the hotel. The easiest way is to get there by car. The hotel drives a parking lot on the West side (with in and out privilege) and a public, metered parking on the East side. The road in front of the hotel is very popular for driving schools. Public transport is limited, unfortunately. The most interesting option is the Bialucha stop in the North, which is used by several trams and buses. In the South, there is the Tauron Arena al. Pokoju stop, which is also used by multiple tram lines. However, both are some ten to fifteen walk away. Walking distance to city center is some 50 minutes and distance to Krakow Airport (KRK) is about 20km, so that I used Uber quite some time.

DoubleTree Krakow Convention Center – Room

I had booked a King Guest Room at the DoubleTree hotel for three nights in March 2025, Monday to Thursday. The total price was 1,138 PLN, roughly 265 Euro. Breakfast was included due to my Hilton Honors Diamond status. I did not feel to receive a room upgrade, though. The room was nice with a good size. It featured a good working space and a nice sized bed. There was also an (empty) fridge, which I could fill with some items shopped in the city center. The aisle also had some additional space to store your items. Due to my status, I welcomed with free water bottles, a small bottle of red wine and some sweets.

The shower bathroom was actually rather on the spacious side, including the shower itself. There was also a heater for towels, which is sometimes very handy. The hotel also offers bathrobes and slippers, which is handy. As typical at Hilton outlets nowadays, amenities are given in dispensers. The whole room was absolutely clean and fine. I also liked the service provided by the housekeeping during the stay.

DoubleTree Krakow Convention Center – Breakfast

The breakfast room was rather large, but also populated during the morning. I liked the options offered by the hotel, including a live cooking station for omelettes and egg dishes. The presentation of items was nice as well. There were warm and cold dishes, quite a lot of fruit and fruit juices and a nice range of cold cuts. The Polish cuisine was represented as well as international dishes. At two of the mornings, the hotel was a bit of slow in cleaning tables of people who have left again. Thus, the felt capacity of the breakfast area was a lower than its in fact one. Nonetheless, the breakfast experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Krakow Hotel & Convention Center was absolutely nice.

DoubleTree Krakow Convention Center – Service

The reception desk was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out worked well. Unfortunately, the in-room WiFi was comparably poor. Especially the downstream, which was partially below 1 Mbit/s, was not reasonable, especially when keeping in mind that the hotel is in fact a meeting hotel. A lovely part of the hotel, though, is the gym and spa area. The pool is comparably large and is split between a “normal” pool and a large bubbling pool to relax. In addition, there is a Jacuzzi. The hotel also drives a sauna area. During pool operation times, there is always a lifeguard present. The gym is available 24 hours and absolutely fine as well.

DoubleTree Krakow Convention Center – My View

Overall, I had a really nice stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Krakow Hotel & Convention Center. However, there were two major downsides. First of all, I underestimated the location being rather isolated from public transport options. Taxis and rideshare services are cheap in Poland, though. On top of that, I really struggled with the WiFi connection and even had to support my connection my mobile network a few times. Thus, the final rating of the hotel does not reach the peak ratings.
