Flyctory.com Songs Of The Week (week of 7th February 2025)

The floorball week in Italy exhausted me more than I expected that. While I hoped to built up a backlog of already written travel and music posts, I just managed to keep the level of items prepared. Nonetheless, I feel there have been some quite interesting posts this week – of course including the Warren Zeiders concert on Monday. Hope you enjoy my this week’s selection of new songs.

Lorena – Milky Way

Lorena is the artist name of Lorena Daum. The Hamburg artist got some fame in the 2020 edition of The Voice of Germany. She is also the singer of the anthem of the American Football team Hamburg Sea Devils. This week, she released her new rock song Milky Way. I really enjoyed it and felt that this is my favorite Song of the Week.

Vulvarine – Fool

Vulvarine is an all-female rock band from Vienna in Austria. In 2020, they released their debut album Unleashed, followed by the 2023 EP Witches BrewFool is the first single from their upcoming sophomore album Fast Lane.

JBS – Treibsand

JBS are the initials of the German musician Jan Bennet Schemmer. He is working as a singer, songwriter and producer. In 2023, he had a golden record in Germany with Unendlichkeit, alongside MilleniumKid. This week he released the song Treibsand (“Quicksand”).

Alex Warren – Ordinary

Alex Warren is a 2000-born singer-songwriter from Carlsbad in California. The US-American is not only doing music, but also became famous for comedy videos on social media. This week, he released the intense song Ordinary.

Moncrieff – Hard Feelings

I already featured the EP Warm by the Irish artist Moncrieff in 2023. This week, he released his new single Hard Feelings. A really nice one.

Ava Max – Lost Your Faith

The next song I feature this week is the new single release by Ava Max.  Especially after her global success album Heaven & Hell released in 2020, I guess I don’t have to tell too much about the US-American artist. Lost Your Faith might not be like her eleven million times seller Sweet But Psycho (2018), but it is a really nice song.

ela. – Stärker als Wir

Ela. is not only the lead singer of the band Elaiza, which represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014. She is also doing solo songs like her new emotional release. A beautiful song.

Jo Halbig – Wie ein Kind

The former Killerpilze singer is about to kick off his Alle Waren Da Tour 2025 in March (see my Tour Date Overview). I featured his amazing song Rad aus Carbon in my 12th July 2024 Songs of the Week. I really love his new song Wie ein Kind (“Like a child”), which was one of my favorite for this week’s leading song.

Josh Galiano – White Roses

Josh Galiano is a Swiss artist from Zurich. In 2021, he had quite some success with his debut single Love Sucks. His new song is about true love, which also stands difficult situations.

Bea and her Business – We’re Not The Same

We’re Not The Same is a song about a toxic friendship. The artist behind that, Bea and her Business, is a young British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who grow by posting cover songs on social media. A great voice and a lovely song.

Elton John feat. Brandi Carlile – Who Believes In Angels?

Last but not least, there is this collaboration of two big names of the music business. Brandi Carlile recently announced her European tour dates for summer 2025 (you find them in my Tour Date Overview). Maybe they perform this song together at the opening concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall? This would definitely be a blast.
