  • Lovely view
  • Cheap admission
  • Nice services

I already took you to Jebel Jais twice. The mountain, which is holding the highest point of the United Arab Emirates, is located located in the Ras Al Khaimah Emirate. The summit is located in the Oman, with a height of 1,934 meters. The highest point on the West side of the border us at 1,892 meters. After I already took you on a road trip to the top of the mountain and shared a ride on the alpine coaster Jais Sledder, this post takes you to the observation deck on Jebel Jais. It is nowadays marketed as the Jais Viewing Deck Park. Enjoy my review.

Jais Viewing Deck Park – Location & Admission

The Jais Viewing Deck Park is located quite close to the highest point accessible by car. You can reach the observation deck at a height of 1,252 meters above sea level easily by any kind of car, details are given in the road trip post I linked above. There is free and covered parking on the opposite side of the road. The driving time from Ras Al Khaimah city center is some 45 minutes with a distance of 45 km. You likely in fact take more time as you stop during the picturesque, but very convenient mountain road. Of course, I recommend to combine the visit with a visit of the other Jebel Jais attractions.

During my visit, the admission to the observation deck was 5 AED, roughly 1.30 EUR. The observation deck is open daily. From Sunday to Thursday, you can visit it from 8:00 to 20:00, while on Fridays and Saturdays, you door close at 23:00. I have visited the place during daytime. The most popular visiting time is during sunset.

Visiting Jais Viewing Deck Park

In order to visit the viewing deck, you cross the road. There are numerous telescopes if you want to explore the area more closely. There are a few level. If you look towards the Southeast, you can see the amazing mountain road winding up Jebel Jais. The more breathtaking view is to the West, which gives you view of the capital of the emirate as well as the Persian Gulf. The observation deck is not overwhelmingly large, but the view is impressing. Furthermore, there are different areas, which allow you to hang out there for longer, e.g. when you want to wait for the sunset. Due to the height, the climate at Jais Viewing Deck Park is significantly more moderate (and can be even a bit of cold) compared to the typically rather low cities and touristic areas of the country.

Jais Viewing Deck Park – Services

At the parking lot, there is a cafe and a snack bar, which is offering quite nice catering. Of course, there are also sanitary facilities.

Jais Viewing Deck Park – My View

It would be a shame if you don’t stop here when you visit Jebel Jais. The views are amazing and the two cafes are a lovely place to hang out for a while. One day, I have to visit this place during a clear day at sunset. I am sure it will be amazing.
